her first of three assists, setting up Granger for her first of the afternoon just 13 seconds into the game … a free-position goal by Stewart at 12:26 halted the Duquesne run and from there the teams traded goals the remainder of the half with Caldwell and Rekart getting goals around Blaney’s second of the half and the Dukes had a 7-4 lead at the half … the Irish scored quickly to open the second half as Stewart converted a feed from Tamasitis just 48 seconds into the second stanza … Blaney fed Granger for her second goal at 24:49 and Abt set up Bosco, the freshman midfielder, at 24:32. When Blaney scored on a free-position goal at 21:27, Notre Dame had climbed the ladder to take the lead at 9-8 … Keena put the Irish in front to stay. Brosco scored her second of the contest with 9:23 left to make it a two-goal game at 11-9 … Abt closed out the scoring with 3:49 left for the 12-10 final … from there, goalkeeper Ellie Hilling and the Notre Dame defense kept the Dukes off the scoreboard to seal the victory.

Ohio State 5 8 - 13 #11 Notre Dame 6 2 - 8 Scoring (goals-assists) Ohio State: Zerhusen (5-3), Donahue (3-0), Markwordt (2-2), Capuzzi (1-0), Beaudrault (1-2) Notre Dame: Mastropieri (4-0), Granger (2-0), Stewart (1-3), Tamasitis (1-3), Abt (0-1) Goalkeepers (min.; goals against; svs.) Ohio State: Carruthers (60:00; 8 goals, 10 saves) Notre Dame: Hilling (60:00; 13 goals, 4 saves) Game Notes: The Notre Dame women’s lacrosse team saw its offense go ice cold in the second half as Ohio State held the Irish to just two goals in the final 30 minutes on the way to a 13-8 win … Notre Dame jumped out to a 6-5 lead at the half paced by sophomore attack Betsy Mastropieri who lit the lamp a career-best four times in the opening stanza … a goal by Zerhusen started a run for the Buckeyes that would see them score nine of the next 10 goals to put the game away … after an Irish timeout with less than 10 minutes left in the game, Notre Dame finally broke through. Granger got her second of the game off a Tamasitis feed to cut the lead to 9-7 with 8:44 left … moments later, the Buckeyes started their final run of four goals as Zerhusen and Donahue would each score twice in a 7:23 span to make it 13-7 with 1:52 left … Stewart would close out the scoring and her four-point game with 1:19 left on the clock off a Tamasitis assist for the final score of 13-8 … the Irish would out shoot Ohio State, 25-20, in the game.

Boston University 3 2 - 5 #14 Notre Dame 5 9 - 14 Scoring (goals-assists) Boston University: Swain (1-1), Etrasco (1-0), Baumgartner (1-0), Mogavero (1-0), Tilton (1-0), Collins (0-1) Notre Dame: Tamasitis (31-), Abt (3-1), Keena (2-0), Blaney (1-1), Granger (1-1), Stewart (1-0), Brosco (1-0), Sullivan (1-0), Doherty (1-0), Morrison (0-2) Goalkeepers (min.; goals against; svs.) Boston University: Sheridan (60:00; 14 goals, 12 saves) Notre Dame: Hilling (60:00; 5 goals, 5 saves) Game Notes: Notre Dame women’s lacrosse team got back on the winning track by scoring nine goals in the second half to break open a close game and defeat Boston University, 14-5 … Notre Dame wasted little time taking control of this game as the Irish scored the first four goals of the game to build a 4-0 lead ... Tamasitis recorded her second goal of the afternoon at 11:05 to make it 5-2 … it took awhile in the second half, but the Irish offense began to click and took over the contest, scoring nine of the final 11 goals in the game … with 5:31 left in the game, Granger scored her only goal of the game to set off the Notre Dame attack that would score the next seven goals in the contest … Doherty made it 9-4 at 3:24 and was followed by Tamasitis for her hat trick on a free-position goal, 21 seconds later at 3:03. Sullivan ran the score to 11-4 with a goal at 2:47 and Stewart followed with her only goal of the game 41 seconds later at 2:06. Abt, with her third of the game, and Brosco closed out the Notre Dame scoring in the final two minutes … Notre Dame’s win at Arlotta Stadium was the first this season and the fifth in the history of the new facility. The Irish were 4-2 last season at Arlotta Stadium … freshman attack Jaimie Morrison recorded the first two assists of her career in the win over Boston University. The sophomore had a pair of helpers in a 1:42 span of the second half as she assisted on goals by Ansley Stewart and Kaitlyn Brosco … with the win against the Terriers, Notre Dame is now 2-0 all-time against Boston University.
