The new JDA officer Ravi Jain has directed the engineers to complete the project on the given deadline and has been monitoring the project continuously since then.
According to the comments of one of the officials the delay in completion of the project was due to the company was facing financial problems. The price escalation of the construction commodities was one of the main reasons behind the problems escalating. The project is 90% complete and Jaipur Development Authority is confident that they will open the project for public soon.
The Officials also said that imposing penalty is not a good solution here as they are already facing fund crunch and penalty will only further delay the project and we are trying to find a middle path for a better solution of the situation. The official also said that terminating the contract when the project is in its last leg is not a good idea as this will result in legal tangles if the contract is terminated.
This construction is very crucial for the general populace of Jaipur as this will result in reduced traffics and commute times. As per the reports of 2011 around 7135 Passenger Car Units pass every hour from Bhawani Singh Road which is around 1992 more than its capacity. The same situation can be observed at Hawa Sadak with 10,355 PCU per hour which is 3994 more than the original capacity of 6361 PCUs.
After the completion of the elevated road project, the average speed of the traffic is expected to increase from 17Km/H to 60Km/H. There will be four ramps to ascend and descend from the flyover for the public. After the completion of the project an average of 10 Minutes will be needed for commuter to reach Ajmer Road via Hawa Sadak. The commuters from Ambedkar Circle will be able to ascend at Nandpuri and 1. Km long elevated structure has been constructed for commuters commuting from Ajmer Road end.
