About the Club OF WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI

The Club is Having a Life-Changing Impact on the Communities it Serves Every weekday, the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri serves more than 600 kids throughout its 11 sites. We are training our community’s future leaders to make positive life choices in Cole Camp, Green Ridge, La Monte, Leeton, Sedalia and Smithton.

Our Mission To inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as caring and productive citizens.

You Make this Mission Possible The cost for one year of programming for one child is $2,040. That’s one year in a safe, positive environment after school and during the summer. If 10 people attending this evening’s event can each give $204, or even 20 people at $102 each, that would ensure one child can benefit from a year of the Boys & Girls Club program. Big or small - it all makes a difference in the life of a child.

S.a.y. “YES! I want to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri.” Start by bidding from the heart! You will have the opportunity to raise your paddle to support the neediest of our community’s children so that no child is turned away. Donations are also accepted any time online at www.bgckids.com or by contacting the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri at 660-826-8331.

Aligning all efforts toward common outcomes Growing together to reach our full potential Operating with high standards of honesty and accountability Fostering an environment of transparency and common voice Transforming the future and providing stability Building relationships through community resources Ensuring that great futures start HERE 4 Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri • An Evening of Heart & Hope presented by Central Bank of Missouri

Welcome! Dear Friends of the Boys & Girls Clubs: Thank you for your joining us for our 23rd annual “Evening of Heart and Hope.” We’re humbled that you’ve come out to support us tonight, and we hope that your evening will be filled with fun as you bid from the heart to support life-enriching Boys & Girls Clubs programming. Last year, caring community members like you helped us raise over $143,000—an amazing result for the hundreds of Boys & Girls Club youth who depend on us each week! This year, we’re already well on our way to achieving new heights. Fifty generous families and businesses, featured on the next page, have sponsored the night’s events. We have 49 live auction items up for bid, giving you ample opportunity go home with that perfect piece of art, sporting experience or gift package. And this year, for the first time ever, we have a title sponsor who has entered into a partnership with us to donate their time, talent and treasure to making the auction a success: The 23rd annual “Evening of Heart and Hope” is being presented by Central Bank of Missouri. Every dollar you spend tonight helps change the lives of our kids, whether it’s a child whose grades have improved because of our Power Hour homework program, a youth whose character has grown so much that they’ve become a candidate for our Youth of the Year competition or even a kid who simply needs somewhere safe and welcoming to go after school. Your generosity and vision enable us to provide these needed and valuable services. So, on behalf of all of us, THANK YOU again for coming out to support our kids. We hope you’ll stay for the fun, and with each item auctioned off, you will bid from the heart! Sincerely,

Brett Barth-Fagan Dear Friends: Since 1891, Central Bank of Missouri has been devoted to serving local families, businesses and entrepreneurs. We provide them with the information they need to make smart financial decisions, help them grow and safeguard the resources that are precious to them. In 2013, Central Bank has taken that commitment to a new level by helping safeguard one of our community’s most precious valuables: our children. We are proud to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri as the first-ever title sponsor of “An Evening of Heart and Hope”, and we couldn’t think of a better cause to champion. The Club provides youth with the information they need to make smart life decisions, helps them grow, and instills in them a sense of safety, hope, and opportunity now and for the future. Thank you for joining Central Bank of Missouri in supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs. Have fun, bid from the heart, and have a great evening supporting one of our community’s greatest assets! Sincerely,

Robert Volker

Pink Flamingo Award Nominees Over the past six years the Pink Flamingo Award, which honors an individual in west central Missouri for their community giving, philanthropic spirit, kindness, generosity, character and leadership, has become a part, and tradition, of the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri’s annual fundraising auction, An Evening of Heart and Hope. “Our candidates this year cover a wide swath of our community,” said Brett Barth-Fagan. “They are truly a heartfelt, genuine group of philanthropists. All of these candidates embody the spirit of the Pink Flamingo Award. I know that this is going to be a tough race and every vote will matter.”

Ron Ditzfeld Ditzfeld Transfer, Inc.

Deidre Esquivel Furnell Companies

“Ron’s generosity to great causes in the community knows no bounds,” said Barth-Fagan. “His gifts of time, talent, and treasure have benefited countless people over the years. We are truly blessed to have him as a supporter of our community.”

“Deidre Esquivel’s tireless volunteering and serving has given her the reputation of being the catalyst behind many community organizations and events. Whether she is acting as chair of a committee or volunteering for various school or local projects, Deidre always exceeds expectations.”

Ditzfeld established the Susie Ditzfeld Soccer Complex, currently serves on four different boards, and has supported countless organizations over the years.

Pink Flamingo Award Nominees

Tony Gallagher 40 & 8, Voiture 333 “Tony is the biggest supporter of veterans in our community,” said Barth-Fagan. “His efforts for the Mid-Missouri Honor Flight have helped hundreds of World War II vets see the memorial in Washington, D.C. before it was too late. He is someone whose passion to help is palpable.” Gallagher serves as Chef de Gare (commander) of 40 & 8, and supported Billy Sierk’s family after he was killed in Afghanistan. He was recently recognized by Lt. Governor Peter Kinder for his efforts in the support of veterans and their causes.

Cheri Heeren Pettis County Community Partnership

Terri Paul Sedalia School District Foundation

“Cheri created the PCCP in the mid-1990’s as a single person office creating a local Caring Communities agency in order to serve multiple facets of our community. She identified unmet societal needs, pursued funding and has developed her agency to be a national model for Caring Community agencies. Her tenacious spirit and outside of the box thinking have made her efforts at tackling issues and problems no one else would touch a hall mark of her professionalism.”

“When you need help for your event, the first person many of us go to is Terri,” said BarthFagan. “Her work for the School Foundation, her church, PTA, the Smith-Cotton Booster Club, the Red Cross, the list goes on and on, is done professionally, but always in a fun way. We’re so happy to have her as a nominee.” Paul is active in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Sedalia School District Foundation, the United Way, the Red Cross, and Parent-Teacher Association.

Thanks to all of our Pink Flamingo Award nominees for their contributions to our community. Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri • An Evening of Heart & Hope presented by Central Bank of Missouri 9

Guidelines Here are a few guidelines to make sure everyone has a great time tonight. If you have any questions, please let one of our auction organizers know and we will be happy to assist you. On behalf of the youth we serve, we say “Thank You!” 1. Each guest will be given a bid number upon arrival. This number is your only means of identification and must be used for all purchases during the night. This is a courtesy to the bidder so the Club can provide you, if needed, with an accurate record of your expenses. Cash will still be accepted for tips, and you may use cash to pay for your purchases during check-out at the end of the night. Please remember to keep your bid number with you throughout the evening! 2. Successful bidders during the live auction may be asked to sign a bidder form. This is a courtesy to the bidder. A verbal “SOLD” by the auctioneer constitutes a legal contract to purchase the item in all cases. 3. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges, refunds or extensions on items, except where specified. 4. Please pay special attention to all conditions, restrictions and expiration dates on items and services. Expiration dates are set by the original donor and will not be extended. No exchanges or refunds will be made. 5. Payment must be made in full for all auction items at the end of the evening. Cash, check and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa and Discover) accepted. S.A.Y. Yes scholarships may be paid as pledged by June 30, 2013. 6. No silent auction items will be released prior to 7:30 in order to give our Silent Auction clerks time to close out the bids. 7. Items depicted in the video presentation are for illustrative purposes only and may not be actual auction items. Every attempt has been made to use actual images of the items generously donated. 8. Reservations for all trips, hotels, parties and similar events must be mutually arranged with the donor unless otherwise specified. Some restrictions may apply.

10. All items expire February 2014, unless otherwise stated. 11. The Boys & Girls Club reserves the right to withdraw any item from the sale prior to call for bid. 12. The Boys & Girls Club assumes no responsibility for any item purchased and either re-donated or re-sold to another event. 13. The Boys & Girls Club has endeavored to catalog and describe the property correctly, but all property is sold “AS IS.” No printed statements contained in the catalog or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed a warranty, representation or assumption of liability.

Express Pay (Offered Upon Arrival) Auction attendees may register for Express Pay upon arrival at the auction. This will speed up the checkout process at the end of the evening. • Present credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover) at the registration desk, manned by US Bank personnel for swiping and authorization. Your card number will be stored and processed at the end of the event. • A receipt for your purchases will be mailed to you the week following the auction. • If you do not purchase any items, game tickets or raffle entries, your credit card number will not be charged and your authorization will be destroyed at the conclusion of the event.

Cashier Check-out and cashier services will be located in the registration area. It is our hope that you will stay for the entirety of the evening, but should you need to leave early, cashiers will be available throughout the evening.

9. Restaurant certificates and vouchers do not include liquor, tax or gratuities, unless otherwise indicated. 10 Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri • An Evening of Heart & Hope presented by Central Bank of Missouri
