The Central School of the Arts Transforming Barrie Central into an engaging K-12 arts-based learning school. BARRIE, ON, FEBRUARY 18 – Barrie Central Collegiate is about to undergo a major revitalization, as community members across Central Ontario have come together to transform the aging school into a new Kindergarten to Grade 12 “School of The Arts”. This new school will specialize in teaching all aspects of education, doing so through an “artistic approach”. Top private and public educators, business leaders, philanthropists and the entire community have successfully collaborated to transform the soon retiring secondary school into a revolutionary education facility, bound to turn struggling students into students that succeed. The new name: Central School of the Arts. The new website: www.centralarts.ca Spearheaded by Damian Spaulding, founder and visionary of the Spaulding School of Arts, Central School of The Arts leverages the extraordinary success found within the Spaulding School of Arts. With its proven educational model, the Spaulding Method is now being combined with the efforts of highly experienced educators in the area to transform current educational approaches and reach an audience that has been yearning a new model of education in our area. The Spaulding School of Arts has quickly become the largest and most dynamic art training presence in Central Ontario, largely because of the unique approach to learning that it takes. International students are beginning to line up to make the pilgrimage to Barrie in order to have their lives positively impacted by new approaches found within Central School of The Arts. Through the new Central School of The Arts, Math,
English, Science, Drama, Business and more will all be taught through the eyes of an artist, emphasizing a creative learning experience that draws out the inner genius minds of all students. Galileo was an artist as well as a scientist and even Einstein failed math his first time through. Leave it to Central School of The Arts to find a new brilliance in our youth and leverage that brilliance to new heights. Central School of The Arts is now hiring new faculty, expanding its student roster and collaborating with skilled leaders in our region to educate youth in a whole new manner. Members of our community have already begun to step forward in support of Central School of The Arts through volunteering services, fundraising, partnering in business and more. In fact, there are a number of ways the required start-up funds are being raised for Central School of The Arts; all of which can be found on the website.
