Susie Racine, grew up in Southbridge, MA 15 minutes away from Woodstock, CT. She moved to Woodstock after she got married and has lived here for 41 years. I asked her a few questions so everyone could get to know her a little better.... What are your favorite memories at Hyde? My favorite memories at Hyde were receiving the Spirit Award the 2nd year I was at Hyde and asked to be the speaker for the graduating class of 2010. Also just the changes that have occurred at Hyde School campus. I am going on my 16th year and have watched the school grow and develop into a very special community. What are your favorite sports teams? My favorite sports teams are the “Red Sox” & the “Celtics”. Do you have a life changing experience? My life changing experience was taking care of my mother during her illness until she passed away 5 years ago. My outlook on life changed drastically and believe me all for the good. Who is your hero? My hero is my mother who immigrated here from Italy leaving her family behind and lived through World War II. Before she passed away she made me realize so much about life and told me things I never knew about our family. She was able to let me know what is important and what not. How life is so precious and that the time we do have here Is so important. By: Megan Belka

MARCOS MERCADO & MARCY ALTOBELLO Marcos has shown strong leadership on the varsity wrestling team this year, this is demonstarated when he leads teamates through drills and practices. His determination and never give up attitude have allowed him to become the strong force he is on the mat. Due to the hard work he demonstrates he was chosen to be one of the captains early on in the season. Marcos is a role model for any aspiring wrestler. Marcos’ record is extremely impressive and we hope he does well in the upcoming tournaments.

Marcy showed true courage this fall by pushing herself and her whole team to do their best on the girls varsity soccer team. Although it was a tough season she never gave up on her team. Every day she showed up early and led the warm up drill. Day after day, Marcy’s hardwork and leadership gained her an invitation to the Womens New England all- star game. She played a great game and represented Hyde well. We are looking forward to her senior leadership on the turf next year.
