Hip Hop Mega Crew

Hip Hop Mega Crew is another of our premier dance groups which is an auditioned co–curricular group. This crew houses dancers from Year 9 to 13, and always showcases tough competition at the auditions held at the beginning of each year. Our dance leaders Hanae Choi, Emily Hall, and Maya Erichsen have created a set inspired by making the most out of their school experience. This set was created for the Light it Up National Schools’ competition where they took out fifth place, and the award for the most original school. Another highlight of the year was placing fourth at the Impact Dance competition! They received an excellence award and were just knocked out of the top three with a final score of 84.3.

Hip Hop Mega Crew continues to excel and strives to upskill in foundational skills and street dance technique. We are very proud of this group of dancers and look forward to the success they will attain in the future.

“One of the main reasons I chose Rangitoto College was because I knew the Dance Department could provide me with great opportunities and experiences that would help me grow as a dancer. A massive highlight of my experience was being a part of the Hip Hop Mega Crew for five consecutive years. Being a part of this team allowed me to create so many new friendships with other students not only in my year level but also in the year levels above and below me. I know that these friendships will last outside of school, and I love that I was able to represent my school doing something that I love, with some of my closest friends. My greatest memories of being a student at Rangitoto College stem from being a part of the mega crew and I am so grateful for everything that came from it.”
