Aqui é registrada a maior ocorrência de neve da região. As cachoeiras ficam congeladas e os campos cobertos de flocos brancos. O fenômeno atrai milhares de turistas que se hospedam em fazendas para turismo rural e hotéis com calefação e lareira, adaptados para o frio rigoroso do inverno.
It is in São Joaquim that the highest snowfall in the region is recorded. Waterfalls freeze and the fields become covered with white flakes when there is snow. The phenomenon attracts thousands of tourists who stay in farms for rural tourism or in hotels with central heating and fireplaces, adapted to the severe cold of winter.
Na paisagem se destacam a exuberante Serra do Rio do Rastro, os campos e as araucárias que se sobressaem entre cachoeiras, vales e rios com corredeiras. O Snow Valley, uma trilha ecológica entre xaxins, pinheiros, bracatingas e samambaias, cascatas e pontes rústicas, é um dos principais atrativos naturais de São Joaquim.
Within this landscape, the amazing Serra do Rio do Rastro is a highlight, as are the fields and pines that stand out among waterfalls, valleys and rivers with rapids. Snow Valley, an ecological trail amidst xaxins (Dicksonia sellowiana), pines, bracatingas (Mimosa scabrella) and ferns, waterfalls and rustic bridges, is one of the main natural attractions of São Joaquim.
