CHARACTERIZATION AND FX EFFECTS IN SHOOTING We are witnessing a change in the realization of photographic sessions, although minority so far, can mean a new approach to those traditional shooting. When in this world we speak about sessions, we fall in the temptation of always thinking on what will be wear in a way more or less programmed to show any clothes or garments protagonists of the session. We care about the light, environments, costumes, accessories, sensuality and all those elements themselves and others that help us make or translate the work of each of the artist. In the last session in which I participated as a Makeup, I have been able to verify that it has taken a step forward and have been introduced elements of “Characterizations and special FX effects” for the work. That means, using materials such as latex, silicone, artificial meat, polyurethane foam, bodypainting, adhesives,

artificial blood… All these elements allows and help us to create simulated wounds, scars, scratches, bruises or even body prosthesis (ears, nose, face modifications), amputations or anything else that we can imagine. Using this technique in photographic sessions and also in videos, films, theater in a more regular and natural way, helps to produce very particular planes even being able to realize from a small bruise or wound up to those shiny effects that we can see in one of those photographic studio pictures where polyurethane foam is being used and the head and body are painted with airbrush.
