Patio Season Has Begun With all of this beautiful, sunny weather, I constantly have patios on the brain. Sitting in the heat of the sun, taking in the fresh air and sipping on a margarita in the afternoon. Our outdoor spaces really have become an extension of our interiors. With so many options available for exterior furnishings, we really can create an outdoor oasis for entertaining all of your friends! As I look around for patio furniture, I am shocked by all of the options, and huge jumps in price. You truly can buy everything from a small conversation set, to a full blown sectional with recliners. Depending on your needs and budget, you can end up spending as much or more than your indoor furniture. Here are some things to look for when purchasing furniture to make it last. Weatherproof: Many of the fabrics are made from Sunbrella brand fabrics. These are waterproof, mold resistant and won’t fade in the sun. They are available in many fashionable colours and patterns. Try to purchase furniture that won’t collect mold and mildew, as we are always subject to rain in our weather forecast. Replacements Available: Are you able to buy replacement parts or cushions if something gets damaged or broken? You don’t want to have to replace the whole piece if something happens.

Storage: It might make sense to purchase a large storage bin to store the cushions when not in use. If you purchase extra cushions to go on top or have a unit made for this purpose, you can always use it as extra seating during an extra large gathering. Warranty: What is the warranty like on the pieces? Will it last for more than one season?
