Benefits Of There are many benefits of drinking tea, tea’s health benefits are due to their high content of flavonoids this is a plant-derived compounds that are he October issue of Harvard Women’s Health antioxidants. Watch recognizes the healthy power of tea while helping readers get the most out of their cups. Of course drinking tea in moderation not over doing it too much of anything is bad. I remember always every evening after dinner I would make tea for my grandmother and I, we both would just sit down for evening tea and watch some TV and chat away of the day’s event’s school, work etc. It was a time in the day that we would just take to relax and wind down from a busy day. This is where my love of tea started, my grandmother taught me how to make ginger tea and the anise tea, and so many different teas i could make from scratch.

T

While doing this i was not aware of the health benefits tea has, but I know my grandmother did as she would explain to me what certain tea’s would be beneficial for when one was not feeling well. One should consider adding tea to their daily routine if able to. Below I have gathered some information of health When we feel under the weather, drinking a cup of tea makes you feel so much better, sipping on a cup of warm tea makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and just relaxes you. So sip your tea and have a fabulous day. What are your favorite tea’s?

nols that can help keep your body healthier and some studies suggest even ward of some cancers. .Tea lowers stress hormone levels. Black tea has been shown to reduce the effects of a stressful event. Participants in a study experienced a 20% drop in cortisol, a stress hormone, after drinking 4 cups of tea daily for one month. Confidence: A Body Positive Movement

I

am honored to take part in Confidence is Key Project with Miss Skye Lexi, this project is all about loving yourself and loving your body and who you are at this moment in time and not letting society’s view on beauty determine who you are nor bring yourself esteem down. Confidence is generally described as a state of being certain, confidence is an attitude, a demeanor and having self-confidence is having confidence in oneself. The dictionary defines confidence as: CONFIDENCE (noun) The noun CONFIDENCE has 5 senses:

3

A state of confident hopefulness that events will be favorable.

7

A feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities.

4

Confidence means to be certain, sure, complete trust

8

Confidence is a feeling of certainty that lies deep within you that you are worthy.

1

Freedom from doubt; belief in yourself and your abilities

5

Confidence isbelief in oneself and one’s powers or abilities; selfconfidence;

9

Confidence is built on pushing through whatever is uncomfortable and holding you back

2

A feeling of trust (in someone or something)

6

Confidence is about having trust in people, plans or the future

10

Confidence is never cocky but sure of one’s own ablities

Confidence Is Key Project A Body Positive Movement

This day in age one’s confidence is being attacked left and right, especially when it comes to our body image in the media, if you are not a certain size you are not beautiful you have failed in one way or another and wont be accepted. This way of thinking in all reality is not so and this is why this project is so important to me. rowing up I was al- I had to learn to uproot all of that negaways told tive thinking and to know that I am loved that I was not for who I am, that my weight did not and wanted and does not determine the amount of love that because of or acceptance I will receive in my life-time my size no one that this will be up to me my character. would love me That’shy I love this saying : Stop trying to and I believed fit in when you were born to stand out. It

has been awhile since many moviegoers have seen Peter Weller in a film, but I’ve recently had the chance to see him in this martial arts movie and he plays the wretched and loathsome villain of this film to perfection.

Forced to Fight Film Review The former Robocop star plays the greedy and manipulative fighting promoter Danny G who likes to make a lot of cash by any devious means. The main character of this movie is portrayed by Gary Daniels and his name is Shane Slavin. This man is an ex-fighter who is taking care of his family as he operates his own auto repair garage. Unfortunately, his little brother Scotty who is portrayed by Arkie Reece though is participating in illegal underground fights who are promoted by Danny G, but he decides to leave his promoter while owing him a high amount of money.

Once Scotty is crippled by Danny G’s thugs his brother is forced to pay his brother’s debt by returning to the ring and fighting for Danny G. The film has some great fighting scenes and the filmmakers of this film got to do quite a lot with the low budget that they had. In essence this is a martial arts drama that is fueled by one man’s journey to help someone that he cares for, but in the process Shane starts to get corrupted as he becomes a volatile human being that lashes out many insults to the people that he cares about. One of the things that really makes Shane very upset throughout the course of the film is that he has to voluntarily lose some matches so that the people that he fights for can make some money out of him. Fortunately, he uses his intellect to outmaneuver his enemies in the final act of the film which was a great way to close the movie.

Jack Reacher Film Review

I

was wondering when they were going to make a movie about this character because he has a lot of intriguing books and stories that are perfect for movie adaptations and now through we have the first feature film that is based on the novel which is entitled One Shot. The movie starts off just like the novel as a lone gunman in a parking garage calmly fires into a crowd in a public plaza, committing a massacre of five apparently random victims with six shots. The shooter conveniently leaves a perfect trail behind for the police to easily track him down as the evidence from the scene, of a shell case and a quarter bearing the same fingerprints, points clearly to a man who is known as James Barr who is a former Army sharpshooter. During his interrogation, Barr asks the police officer known as Emerson and the District Attorney, Alex Rodin to get Jack Reacher.

The character of Jack Reacher is a true enigma as all that these people know about him is what is on his file and nothing else. Reacher is a drifter and a former Army Military Police officer, who arrives just as Rodin and Emerson are reviewing his file. Tom Cruise portrays this mysterious enigma as a man who is always aware of what is going on and as someone who will do anything in order for justice to be done in a rightful manner. When Reacher arrives he is clearly expecting to find out that Barr is guilty of the crime that he is being accused of since he promised Barr that if he committed another heinous act of murder then he would kill him instantly. Surprisingly, Reacher is hired by Barr’s attorney Helen Rodin to become the investigator on this case and he finds out that Barr was framed in an elaborate plot to hide the truth.

By. Castelar Garcia In the film both Tom Cruisequi and who portrays Ovidebis est et doluptati cus repudae disRosamund aut quam, et Pike eum fugitate que non nonsed est eaturia ectiae volo have de nimagna tendam dolorru ptasperovit, qui torthroughout ad molup Helen Rodin a good chemistry with eachteother the film and this female character becomes one of Reacher’s best allies throughout the film as she is willing to help him in anything that he needs even though he is a total stranger. The rest of the cast was also very good as Jai Courtney portrays the shady assassin of this film successfully and it was interesting to see this malicious character and his boss trying to frame Jack Reacher for a crime that he didn’t commit which creates one of the most hilarious moments of this film as Reacher uses his ingenuity to escape the cops in the middle of a chase in an amusing manner. Overall, this film is a real crowd pleaser and I hope that we all continue to see the rest of the adventures of this character on the silver screen.

T

his is a film that came out of nowhere and it absolutely blew my mind. The other two films that have achieved this were Transit and The Aggression Scale as they all believable characters whose lives are turned upside down because of an unforeseeable event that shatters their lives and everything gets very complicated at a rapid pace. The cast is just terrific as Briana Evigan stars in this frantic thriller which has a married couple who have just bought a beautiful new home, but soon they realize that the house has some very nasty secrets that put their lives in danger.

Stash House Film Review

One of the best decisions of these filmmakers was to cast Dolph Lundgren as the main villain of the picture as he is a formidable and imposing force of destruction which makes the severity of the situation be more believable. Dolph’s character is a flawed human being that is trying to get out alive from his turbulent life. There is a complex web of secrets in this film that is played with such intrigue and suspense that it will grab your interest immediately. There are some moments that play with the audience and I like how they utilize that so that later on the big revelations will be even more shocking. There are many scenes which raise the bar and they execute an elaborate scheme that unfolds in a manner which is shocking and gut wrenching.

By. Castelar Garcia I must say that every single performer in this film proved that they take their craft seriously and that they all wanted to perform to the best of their ability. This is one of those rare gems that is a true crowd pleaser as it sucks you into this maelstrom of conflict and mayhem and it never lets you go. I can guarantee you that I’m really looking forward to what these filmmakers next project is going to be since this movie showed that they have what it takes to make a quality film that you can watch more than once and I rarely watch a film more than once unless they have a true mesmerizing plot with a lot of details that will make you think after you have watched it. I hope that you get to rent this film once it comes out because it will leave you breathless.

T

here were many reasons to go back to this magical world and I’m glad that Peter Jackson decided to make the prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy as he makes a triumphant return with this delightful film that will captivate a whole new generation. Ian McKellen returns as the great wizard Gandalf the Grey who recruits the services of Bilbo Baggins who is portrayed by Martin Freeman. Bilbo joins Gandalf and the band of warrior dwarves who reunite in his humble abode to plan their next movie to retake their kingdom and to destroy the fearsome dragon known as Smaug.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Film Revie

ew

Thorin Oakenshield who is the grandson of the former king Thrór is the leader of the dwarves who embark on this dangerous mission. Thorin was consumed by hatred and bitterness before his family’s kingdom was ravaged and destroyed by the dragon. Also, Azog who is the Orc war-chief who beheaded Thrór that lost his forearm to Thorin in battle outside the Dwarven kingdom of Moria has placed a bounty on Thorin’s head. This orc is a malicious leader that lusts for vengeance and he will do anything to obtain his rivals head. Gandalf knows that this journey will change Bilbo forever as he will face many dangers throughout their journey.

By. Castelar Garcia Another factor is that Thorin doesn’t believe that Bilbo should join them on this perilous quest and he doesn’t approve of him in joining his band of warriors. Throughout this movie there is a fun sense of camaraderie between the main characters that makes this particular cast a joy to watch. Honestly, I found this movie a real pleasure to watch because the cast has a dynamic chemistry and there are many funny moments that really surprised me. Gollum also makes a lethal return as a cave dwelling cannibal that wants to eat Bilbo, but he gets outsmarted by Bilbo. This character doesn’t have a lot of screen time, but his scenes are among the best in the entire film. The main plot points of the story are exposed in an efficient manner while hinting at the dangers that will plague the land. There are also many action sequences that are simply breathtaking. Overall, this is an epic fantasy adventure that succeeds in establishing a world that makes you want to see more of.

Your tips on being a plus size model?

I would have to say the pre-eminent tip would be to own your curves, don’t let them own you! In other words, highlight your best curvy feature and downplay that which is the least flattering. Find your best asset and develop it to work for you. Wear proper foundation when possible. Any body looks better smoothed out. Even straight models look smoother with a good foundation! As a plus size model, know what your style is; know who you are; and know why you want to model. These are good foundational anchors to help you in your confidence.

Society makes it difficult to be a full figured model, not to mention just being a curvy woman; so being anchored in who you are and what your vision is, you are better able to answer your critics. And, being that society is not readily accepting of curvy women, let alone plus size models, surround yourself with positive influences and inspirations. There is empowerment in being with others of like-mind and those who support your vision. And of course, practice, practice, practice what poses, looks, styles, etc. works best for your body and your look. And, always keep it moving in exercise and proper diet.

Also, do not just take someone’s word about your ability or looks without researching the plus size modeling industry. Please do not be gullible to someone fawning over you of how gorgeous and voluptuous you are, and telling you that you could be a full figured model. Do your research! Know the game! Know your worth…as a model, and not as a model. KNOW WHO YOU ARE, and what you can and cannot do. Have boundaries. There are a lot of snakes in this world ready to devour you. Be discerning and listen to your intuition. God gave it to women for a reason. Never be afraid to question anyone about anything. Society does not make it easy to be a plus size model. However, it is becoming more accepted, but it is still difficult.

you can run it

If you feel this is your divine destiny, then pursue it and do not take NO for an answer. Lots of doors will close, or not even open. But, hold your head high because you know you were created beautiful, and you know the gifts you have to inspire other plus size women. Never cease seeking opportunities, and always listen to constructive criticism. And, never have an arrogant attitude about being curvy. How was your expeince while being in pageants? Competing in a pageant is thrilling, with all the beautiful clothes and shoes and makeup and hair! But, pageantry is definitely hard work. You want to be on your best game; having the best competition wardrobe, the best judges’ interview, and then being the one who rocks it out the best on stage. It is a competition. So, you are trying to out-maneuver the other competitors by coordinating your style of wardrobe just perfect, along with having just the right hair, makeup, and accessories combination with each outfit. Then, there is preparing for the judges’ interview by studying and being prepared with knowledge about current world events, and history, and anything else the judges’ decide to ask during your interview.

What are the do’s and don’ts of a pageant? First and foremost be genuine and be YOU. Don’t look at what anyone else is doing. They are not you and you are not them. You have your journey uniquely set before you. Walk your own journey. And again, just as with being a plus size model, know who you are and why you want to compete. Search the depths of your soul and know why. This is foundational. This is your jumping off place, and will anchor you in your journey. A most important aspect of pageantry, if not “the” most important component of pageantry is having a heart of service for others. The crown and title should not be about yourself, ever. It should always be about serving others. You should use your royal office as opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others and in your communities. With having a title comes great responsibility, as well.

Yes, it is wonderful to be a queen, but it bears a regal and royal reputation to uphold of not only yourself, but that of the pageant system you are representing. Being queen does not give one a free reign to be haughty, or demanding, or bossy, or superior. No, just the opposite. Being a true queen means being/walking/speaking humbly and graciously, being a servant, being moral and ethical, as well as cooperative; thinking of others before yourself. A true queen resists gossip and being embroiled in controversy. Pageantry is definitely an amazing journey of self-discovery. Being a true queen does not just happen overnight. It is a process of soul-searching, learning and growing. Becoming a queen is an investment in yourself that you must determine is worth the journey.

Any advice you would like to share with anyone who is thinking of being a model. Perseverance & determination will win the day! Things don’t usually happen overnight, but rather from a process of networking, learning, growing, and marketing yourself. Know your niche, and take who you are and work what you got! Have a greater purpose for being a model, other than you think you look pretty and want to show the world how hot you are. Use your talents and gifts to serve others; to make a difference in the lives of other women. Avoid being self-serving. Also, be selective in what you model, how you model, and who you model for. You ARE building a reputation. Don’t hand it over to someone else. And lastly, don’t listen to society’s analogy of what “beauty” is. Society says beauty looks only a certain way. Everyone is beautiful in their own right; don’t succumb to what society says is beautiful. Step it out and determine to make a difference! Do your research on what it takes to be a plus size model.

The industry, whether it be plus size or straight models, has its standards of the types of models they use. The key to all plus size modeling is proportion. Just because we’re full figured, doesn’t mean we are what the industry wants. Research Research Research is so important. This is what I tell everyone who asks me about modeling. Do your research to see what is going on and how it’s happening. But, I say, don’t stop pursuing your dream if this is what you want and truly feel this is the direction for your life. So, pursue your dreams with a fiery determination, and break those molds! If modeling is the divine plan for your life, and with hard work, it will happen. But, be realistic about your journey; who you are and what you can do. Have a sense of when to redirect your pursuits.

“With anyone, beauty begins on the inside, in our hearts, and manifests itself on our outside. Heart-checks are in order periodically. If your heart is askew, time to get it right. A dirty heart can dirty your outside (looks, attitude, disposition, speech, actions, etc.) And, as full figured women pursuing modeling or pageantry, I believe we have a responsibility to others to lead them in a direction of positivity, self-acceptance, and healthier living. If our hearts are clean, then we will shine bright like a diamond and be a beautiful influence to other curvy women.”

“Know your purpose in life, journey to find and execute that purpose, and stand on a solid foundation of faith. We all have a purpose in life. And, it is a life-journey of discovering and living that purpose. Do not give up on finding and living your purpose. Others are counting on you.

“Be true to who YOU are. There is only ONE of you – uniquely and divinely created for a special purpose. Nobody can do YOU, and you cannot do anybody else. You have your life-course before you. And, it is only for you. You will not be satisfied trying to live someone else’s life. There will always be a void. Live YOUR purpose. “

“Love WHO you are WHERE you are all the while working on being healthy (mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, financially, etc.). Until you love WHO you are, you cannot make change within. Believe that you were divinely created with a purpose to fulfill in this world. If you were created in love, then your not liking yourself is rejecting your divine purpose.” Rise, and live right now…in this moment!

Connect with Spruce and check out her a mazing cause, that is saving lives one flip flop at a time! Sending Hope, Love, & Encouragement through $1.00 FLIP FLOPS.... to the poorest of poor villages, & to the orphanages in Nigeria. FLIP FLOP to NIGERIA was founded in 2012 by Spruce Dickerson, Miss Plus America Elite 2011. (www.facebook.com/MPA.ELITE.2011) The Mission of this campaign is to reach the peoples of Nigeria in the poorest of poor villages, and the children in the orphanages, with Hope, Love & Encouragement. The Vision which Ms. Dickerson had, & has, is that for $1.00 flip flops can be purchased in the Dollar Store. For only $1.00, hope, love & encouragement can be given to those who struggle to find it. What is $1.00 to most Americans-nothing. But, to those who have nothing at all, $1.00 is rich. Those receiving our flip flops will know they are loved! And, at the same time of providing hope, love & encouragement through a $1.00 pair of flip flops, it also provides protection for feet; helping to prevent diseases & infections. https://www.facebook.com/FlipFloptoNigeria https://www.facebook.com/ MODELSpruceDickerson?fref=ts
