Reference Letter for Bayes Ahmed I am very happy to know that Mr.Bayes Ahmed is going to apply for PhD in UK universities. It is also great news that he has been nominated by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh for Commonwealth Scholarship in the UK for PhD program. I know Mr. Bayes since 2005 as an undergraduate student. Later together we worked in a project funded by the World Bank where I was his primary supervisor.Based on my knowledge, he obtained Bachelor degree in January 2008 from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka. Moreover, he has successfully completed the Master of Science in Geospatial Technologies degree in March 2011. I am very glad to know that he was granted Erasmus Mundus Scholarship awarded by the European Commission for continuing his entire Master program. He has studied in Spain, Germany and Portugal for his MSc degree. He has some national and international level journal article publications. During his research period, I found Mr. Ahmed sincere, attentive and interested in his work. He is able to successfully complete multiple tasks with favourable results despite deadline pressure. Moreover, he has a firm basis in English language and can convey his insights succinctly both in his writings and in his speech. He also has outstanding organizational skills. Mr. Ahmed is a smart and well-behaved individual and easily understandable by others. He is a motivated young man of considerable self-discipline. He has shown ardent interest in doing advanced research works. His research work has been highly appreciated and acknowledged by the World Bank as well. I think his academic background, professional experience and dedication will help him to make significant success in the fields of Spatial Analysis, Remote Sensing, Climate Change and GIS. His informative and earnest disposition will enable him to undertake pioneering research in this particular field of interest.
