If you think you would like to work in early years’ settings or youth and community organisations you should apply for the specialised awards in these areas. This will ensure you undertake placements relevant to your course and have specialised modules that you must follow to ensure the right experiences and knowledge to help you work in these fields.

Student Profile Sarah Horsman Early Years Education Specialised, Year 3 — “Out of the universities I visited, Bath Spa provided a variety of opportunities within the education department. Each year there have always been a wider variety of modules that I can choose in relation to my interests, which involve a selection of both teaching and assessment methods. Something that I have noticed during my time at Bath Spa, is that the university has ensured that students are made part of the decision making process, both within their course and with matters within the university. As the student representative for education I have seen how feedback and suggestions are always welcomed and treated appropriately, a critical element when ensuring that you get the most from you time at university.”
