An interesting tour that will take you back in time to Medieval Bilbao, with its cobbled streets, charming corners and squares, which have witnessed the port’s hustle and bustle that made the Village grow. Its walls, Saint James’s Gothic Cathedral, the Plaza Nueva (New Square), the emblematic San Antón Church and the ancient ruins it was built on, and the busy Mercado de la Ribera (Riverside Market) represent more than 500 years of history and city life not affected by the passing of time. Comenzando en las inmediaciones del Museo Marítimo, te equiparemos con tu bici y casco. Iniciamos aquí un recorrido guiado en bicicleta por la Avenida de Abando Ibarra, la conocida “milla de oro de la arquitectura de Bilbao”. Un auténtico icono del desarrollo urbanístico de la ciudad que ha servido de modelo y caso de referencia internacional. La visita dura 2 horas y comienza y termina en el entorno del Museo Marítimo, a 15 minutos a pie del Museo Guggenheim.

You will travel to San Sebastian where you can see the most characteristic monuments of its Old Town before tasting some typical Basque “tapas”, known as “pintxos” in Euskera due to the “pintxo” or wooden stick used to make the food easy to eat. Leisure and culture merge together to embrace the unmistakable Basque flavour. Pintxos are a truly Basque delight that you can enjoy in company, exploring their culinary secrets or just strolling through its busy streets. You will be given a voucher to try a total of 10 tapas and 3 drinks together with a map showing all the bars and restaurants included on the tour.

Vitoria-Gasteiz es la capital administrativa de Euskadi. La Plaza de la Virgen Blanca es el centro histórico y social de la ciudad y de allí arrancan las calles empedradas del casco antiguo. Camina hasta llegar a la Catedral de Santa Maria. Nuestra visita comienza en la fachada principal. Descubrirás que además del gótico reluciente, los arbotantes, las gárgolas y las inmensas moles de piedra, hay una ciudad escondida bajo tus pies. Los trabajos de reparación de la Catedral, pusieron al descubierto las ruinas de “la otra ciudad” sobre las que se asienta la actual. Dicen que Ken Follet, se inspiró en ella para su obra “Un mundo sin fin”. ¿Te lo vas a perder?

Vitoria is the administrative capital of the Basque Country. The Plaza de la Virgen Blanca is the city’s main square and where the most typical streets of the Old Town converge. Walk along its narrow streets and reach the Cathedral of Santa Maria. This is where we will start our guided tour. The “Open for Restoration Work” programme at Santa Maria Cathedral is a unique and pioneering initiative, which allows you to learn about the history of the city through this building. The tour of the temple under restoration requires the use of a helmet. Santa Maria Cathedral has attracted writers and intellectuals of international repute such as Ken Follett, who was inspired by the cathedral to write the second part of “The Pillars of the Earth”.

Visita completa a un caserío para conocer los orígenes y funcionamiento del medio rural vasco. El caserío ha sido la base de la economía rural vasca y, hoy en día, constituye un lugar de interés donde se mezclan asombrosamente las tradiciones ancestrales, la mitología, la sostenibilidad, el medio ambiente y la cultura vasca. La visita incluye recorrido por las instalaciones, exhibición de perro pastor, demostración de elaboración de productos típicos como el queso, pan o mermelada. Se requiere reserva. A la confirmación de la visita, se indicará el punto de recogida y horario. El caserío a visitar dependerá de la ubicación del participante, eligiendo siempre un caserío situado a una distancia máxima de 30 minutos de la capital donde se encuentre.

A visit to an authentic Basque farm house to get to know the daily tasks of the rural environment in the Basque . The so called “caserío” (Basque farm) has been the basis of the local economy and nowadays still remains a focal point of interest where old traditions, mythology, sustainability, ecology and culture are all intertwined. The tour includes a walk around the “caserio”, an exhibition by a local sheep dog and the local food tasting such as jams, bread and cheese. Advance bookings are required. Upon confirmation, the participants will be told about the pick-up point and time. There are different farms included in the programme. The farm to be visited will depend on the participants’ location. We will always confirm a farm located at a maximum of 30 minutes driving distance from any of the three Basque cities.
