IT’s a Deal Intuitus provides ongoing IT support to Marston Group Intuitus first began working with Marston Group, now the UK’s largest judicial services group, in 2012, providing vendor due diligence services to management and shareholders ahead of the sale of the business to Inflexion. Since that time, Intuitus has been retained on a regular basis to support Marston through a number of acquisitions and other initiatives, founded on Intuitus’ technical insight and depth of understanding of the business. “Intuitus has provided us with vital technical expertise for a number of years as we have built the company through acquisition,” said George Watt, COO of Marston. “They have been insightful in explaining the challenges of integration, highlighting potential risks and offering solutions. More broadly Intuitus has been instrumental in helping us to validate that the strategic path we are on is the correct one.” Marston has acquired several companies since being backed by Inflexion in 2012. These include Rossendales in 2013 and Collectica, a carve-out from Serco Group, the following year. Further add-ons are likely in the future. Thorough due diligence was necessary ahead of these acquisitions to ensure that Marston was aware of what it was buying and that integration could be achieved efficiently. In addition, over the past year, Intuitus has provided strategic advice and guidance with regard to how Marston consolidates and integrates the IT of its acquired companies – particularly important as the constituent businesses were relatively small, entrepreneurial outfits with their own discrete, and often complex systems and processes. As part of this work, Intuitus has re-assessed Marston’s IT function, operations, systems and strategy and created a transformation roadmap, which is now being implemented across the business. In addition Intuitus conducted a detailed review of a new digital software product developed off-shore and is currently assisting with the recruitment of a new interim IT infrastructure manager. “It is a testimony to the value we have provided Marston that they have continued to work with us on a variety of projects in recent years,” said Phil Reynolds, Intuitus’ lead consultant on the mandate.
