Park District - Contact/Hours/Letter from the Director

Administrative Staff

The Barrington Park District seeks to enhance the quality of life and the environment; to acquire, conserve, and protect natural resources; and to provide health and recreational opportunities for people of all ages and abilities in our community.

THE BACK PORCH IS COMING! The Barrington Park District is excited to announce a new opportunity for those who are 50 years and older. We are working with some local residents to create a monthly, Friday evening social gathering. If you are interested in meeting new people, bring a friend, partner or come by yourself! The “Back Porch” is for you! Some ideas we have range from pickleball, coffeehouse, bags, wine and beer tasting, comedy shows, cooking classes and much more! The Park District is hosting a “kickoff party” on Friday, January 11 at 7pm. Music from Sons of Bildor will be playing and refreshments will be provided. Come hear what the “Back Porch” is all about and what activities or events interest you, we want to hear from you! Registration is required. Visit the park district brochure pages 70 - 71, website (barringtonparkdistrict.org), Facebook or the park marquee on Rt 14 for more information. Questions? Contact Dawn Johnson at (847) 304-5297 or djohnson@barringtonparkdistrict.org. Sincerely,

Sponsorship/Partnership Opportunities

Volunteers Appreciated!

Promote your business through a tax deductible sponsorship of Park District programs/events and be seen by tens of thousands of people all over Chicagoland and beyond. The programs and events you sponsor have a profound impact on the work we are able to do in the community, while simultaneously building your brand through tremendous exposure via multiple channels. Did you know most Americans, especially Millennials, both prefer and refer companies that give back? That’s why when you support the BPD, upon request, we will provide you with a “We support the BPD” digital logo for you to incorporate on your website and other promotional material.

Volunteering at the Park District is a wonderful opportunity to fulfill volunteer or community service requirements or just to “give back.” We do not need a daily commitment from you, but simply some assistance on an “as needed” basis. If interested, please contact Dawn Johnson at (847) 304-5297.

Other Benefits Include: • Permanent promotion on a dedicated page of our website, which receives nearly 40 thousand page views a month.

They are expanding critical thinking skills, such as identifying, classifying, comparing, contrasting, sequencing, predicting and problem solving. Advances in hand-eye coordination help four-year-olds do puzzles and play with toys that have small parts. This program includes readiness in reading (Jolly Phonics Program), literature, writing, science, technology, social science, art and music. It’s a critical development year and we ensure they make observable progress in all areas. The Preschool follows the District 220 calendar, Sept. 4 - May 15. Costume fee is not included in class fee.

Special Notes

I started group training about a year ago and it has helped me build such strength and push myself to achieve goals and milestones I didn’t think I could reach. It is consistent full body workout that is tailored to our group each and every class. The instruction is amazing and well organized. It has been such a great addition to my weekly fitness routine. ~ Rena Slovick Up to 20

Fitness - Yoga

Yoga and Yoga with the Intrinity Board for me represent peace, serenity and grace. Both practices teach me to be in the present moment, to let go and surrender and how to quiet my mind in this busy life. I feel more flexible, balanced and calmer when I practice. My heart feels full and I have more energy to go out in this world with a positive and happy attitude so I can bring kindness and love to others. I encourage you to begin your yoga journey with us here at the Park District.
