Also a special thanks to District 220, Village of Barrington, BACOA, Junior Women’s Club, Barrington Baseball, Citizens for Conservation, Barrington Police Department, Barrington Chamber of Commerce, Living 60010, Barrington Area Conservation Trust, Barrington Youth Football, NISRA and numerous leaders throughout the community who participated in group discussions to define how our organizations can work together in the best interest of community. The Barrington Park District received our Loss Control Review Accreditation from PDRMA (Park District Risk Management Agency.) Aquatics, Recreation, Administration and Parks were evaluated in all areas of risk management. Scoring a 99.40%, we also received the Loss Control Award for having the highest score by a new member. This was an extensive two year review and we are proud of this accomplishment! The Park District staff is working with some local residents to create some fun programs, sporting events and social gatherings for our young adults in the community. Watch for these exciting opportunities! Sincerely,

Safety is a priority for the Barrington Park District. The past couple of summers, you have seen more and more youth swimmers wear wristbands. These wristbands do mean something, and you can help us keep our children safe by understanding the Wristband Safety System. All of our campers and outside camp groups who visit our pool go through a swim test with our lifeguard staff. After the test, the child is given a color coded wristband that represents which areas of the pool they are allowed to swim in. The color codes are easy to understand because they follow the colors of a Stoplight.

Red - The child should only be seen in the zero depth pool (baby pool). The child should NOT be going down a waterslide.

Pool - Rules/Wristband Safety

Wristband Safety System

Yellow - The child is allowed to be in the zero depth pool and the large activity pool. The child is allowed down the flume or body slides but NOT the diving board or drop slides.

Green - The child is able to swim in all pools, go down all slides and go off the diving board.

If you see a child in the wrong pool, please notify pool staff or camp staff immediately. Wristband Safety System posters are up throughout the pool area to help explain the wristbands.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Help us keep our children safe!

Must be 4 years old by October 30, 2018 or by Preschool Supervisor’s approval Your little one is getting smarter by the day! They are starting to get the hang of numbers, patterns and time and even figuring out colors. They are expanding critical thinking skills, such as identifying, classifying, comparing, contrasting, sequencing, predicting and problem solving. Advances in hand-eye coordination help four-year-olds do puzzles and play with toys that have small parts. This program includes readiness in reading (Jolly Phonics Program), literature, writing, science, technology, social science, art and music. It’s a critical development year and we ensure they make observable progress in all areas. The Preschool follows the District 220 calendar, Sept. 5 - May 15. Programs Self Esteem Science Machine (S.E.S.M) Workshops At Lisa Lombardi Coaching, the staff of life coaches, entrepreneurs and engineers inspire children through a fusion concept of pairing up science and entrepreneurship with self-esteem concepts. Whether your kiddos are naturally talented at science and entrepreneurship or not, your children will have the opportunity to walk away from a S.E.S.M. workshop feeling confident. Self-esteem stems from a sense of contributing to society and that our ideas are valued. A feeling of self-worth may lead to children in the future taking chances on their ideas and efforts. Exploration and self-esteem really do go hand in hand and it’s fun! Everybody is good at something and we embrace that at Lisa Lombardi Coaching!

Got Happiness?

AGES: 7 - 12 YEARS Is happiness genetic? While biology does play a large role in happiness, we still have LOTS of room to grow our children’s happiness level in their day-to-day environment! When we are happy, everything in life gets a little bit easier. How can we reduce any negative emotions that may pop up and garner more powerful feelings like positivity? In this electrifying workshop, kids will have the chance to build on their current happiness level through thrilling activities like: Jumping Jailbreak, Emotion Potion, Shot of Happiness, Wow Kid, Human Laugh Track, and more! Group games are just one of the many ways to start building happiness and coping skills. The best part is that these skills built in class are often transferred by the participants to real life situations after departing class! Whether your child is the ultimate happy kid or a work in progress in this area, this class is appropriate for them due to the highly motivating group games. Kids will be instructed by a Certified Professional Life Coach. Treats and prizes included. (Min/Max: 6/15). Instructor: Lisa Lombardi Coaching INC. Staff. Got Communication and Confidence?

AGES: 7 - 12 YEARS In a world where everyone is looking down at their tablet or phone, our youth is evolving into a generation with limited skills in communication and confidence. Communication REALLY is more than a text, email, video game, or hanging out on social media. Through an incredibly fun and high energy workshop, kids will have the chance to improve their verbal and listening skills through communication and confidence boosting games like: Bubble Gum Bonanza, Ticket Booth, Cotton Candy Catastrophe and more. Thrilling group games are the ultimate way to elicit communication from children. The best part is when you notice communication and confidence generalize into a child’s real day to day environment after departing class! Don’t be surprised if they volunteer to get up in front of a crowd more, have higher confidence when test taking, and just have a bit more pep in their step! Kids will learn from a Certified Professional Life Coach the hottest tips in building communication and confidence. Treats and prizes included. (Min/Max: 6/15). Got Self-Esteem and Leadership?

AGES: 7 - 12 YEARS As parents we want the best for our children…. friends, sports, vacations, education, teachers, clothes, technology and the list goes on and on. What about the gifts of high self-esteem and leadership? Self-esteem is how you feel about yourself and a feeling that you can handle life every day. It’s believing in your talents and that you have value to offer the universe. When you possess this, it becomes easier to be a leader. Through creative expression in an incredibly fun workshop, kids will have the chance to cultivate self-worth and won’t even realize they are working on self-esteem. What to expect? Interactive self-esteem booster games will be executed like Potato Chip Champ, King’s Throne, Balloon Bust, Billboard This and more. Kid’s emotional “buckets” will get filled and will likely be overflowing with confidence when they depart this class. Kids will learn from a Certified Professional Life Coach the hottest tips in building self-esteem and being happy leaders. In a self-absorbed and competitive world, garnering and keeping self-esteem is sometimes a tall order, but this class will help harness it! (Min/Max: 6/15). Instructor: Lisa Lombardi Coaching INC.
