Proud to announce yet another main sponsor, who will also participate in our international art exhibition: Dutch artist Paula Collewijn! As you may have already read before on our own website, we are very proud to introduce to you yet another main sponsor: Dutch artist Paula Collewijn. Paula is a drawing and painting artist who was born in 1978 in the Netherlands. She is very well-known for her unique and expressive painting and drawing style when it comes to painting horses. Paula would like to describe her work using the title "The Art of Horses". Paula Collewijn will be an important sponsor of the Baroque Event Moravita in a very special way... which we'll explain all about, but later! Also, both Paula Collewijn her artwork and she herself will be present at our international art exhibition of this year's Baroque Event, together with some other equine artists. We are already looking forward to this artistic co-operation! Thank you, Paula Collewijn.

Marvin's Music: Main sponsor for the Baroque Event Moravita- and here to help you out with your freestyle kur choreography and music!

With the many dressage freestyles and classical demonstrations we perform on a regular basis, we know just how important it is to have the music fit exactly to your freestyle kur, in both choreography and 'feeling'. We also know how hard this can be: finding the right music and fitting this to your choreography. This is why we are proud to announce that Moravita has established a long-term cooperation with "Marvin’s Music", who are very well-known for their professional freestyle music and choreographies for dressage freestyles. Marvin's Music will be another main sponsor of our Baroque Event Moravita. Since the baroque freestyles (Elementary to Grand Prix) are different from the current F.E.I. dressage freestyles, we recon it can be quite a puzzle to find the right music for your choreography. This is where Marvin's Music will be glad to help you out! They will soon expand their assortment and make sure there is a wide range of ready-to-use freestyle music and choreographies available, which will fit perfectly to the different levels of the Baroque Freestyles. This Baroque Freestyle Choreographs & Music will soon be available on the website of Marvin's Music, where you can easily order them. It is also possible to order your own customized freestyle music, which can be adjusted to the timing or video of your own choreography. We would like to thank Marvin's Music for all their efforts and the trust they have in our company and our Baroque Event Moravita, and we are looking forward to more and more years of this unique co-operation!

Highlighted Aletta Duivenvoorden on the Baroque Event Moravita 2010 In the previous edition of our monthly Baroque Event Newsletter I already explained why we first organised a baroque event, and that the Baroque Event Moravita 2010 was like a dream coming true for me and Ton. The atmosphere, all those baroque horses and the wonderful people... everything was just perfect, of course also thanks to our fantastic sponsors and volunteers. In this March-edition of the Baroque Event Newsletter I would like to get a bit more into the success of the Baroque Event 2010, and the way we experienced this. I would like to share with you what the event was like: what were the main happenings, who were present, what was the atmosphere like, and most of all- what was it like for us, to organise an event like this?

The build-up and getting everything ready for the event is always a time-consuming task, which is why we already started with this early on the Friday morning: as you can imagine, this is quite a lot of work for an event of such a large size with this many visitors. Luckily, ‘many hands make light work’, and thanks to the helping hands of our many volunteers, our Moravita Estate looked perfectly fine and soon we were ready to welcome our visitors and friends. Visitors and participants received a warm welcome, questions were answered, and advice was given when necessary: every single person present was more than willing to offer help to another. This, together with sharing our passions, dreams and the love for the baroque horse and classical dressage, perfectly describes what we would like to call the ‘Moravita-feeling’. Of course there also was the beautiful decoration, the large terrace, many stands and wonderful music playing through the speakers. Together, all these aspects gave the Baroque Event Moravita 2010 a unique atmosphere- something we had many visitors complimenting us on. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the (KNHS) dressage tests were ridden in the sun in our outdoor arena. Many combinations debuted here, and it was wonderful to watch the harmony between horse and rider. Our decorated indoor arena offered room for the freestyle kur on Saturday and Sunday. The wonderful, sometimes even hand-made costumes and the music which fitted the high-level choreography perfectly made these musical kurs very impressive.

Page 7 The main climax of the Baroque Event Moravita 2010 was of course the intense gala evening on Saturday, where Hofreitschule Bückeburg performed an unforgettable gala show! For the first time ever the horses and riders of this Classical Riding School went outside the borders of Bückeburg to present this unique gala show. Of course we all did everything we could to make the riders and horses feel straight at home here. BSS Horse Transports took care of transporting the baroque stallions of Hofreitschule Bückeburg, the ‘kings’ of the gala show, using two large and luxurious horse trucks. BSS made sure the horses reached their destination safe and on time, and also brought these horses back home afterwards. The wonderful decoration of the indoor arena, thanks to Ten Elsenhuyse, the professional light show and wonderful music all helped making this a fantastic evening. Thanks to all of our friends and volunteers working behind the scenes, the organisation was smooth and flawless. The gala show itself performed by Hofreitschule Bückeburg was truly unforgettable. Many of us could not help but to shed a tear (or more…) during this fairytale-like show. After the show, most visitors stayed a while longer to have a drink with each other, while sharing their positive feelings about the show. Even nowadays, almost two years later, our former visitors still haven’t stopped talking about this fantastic gala evening! Thanks to all the positive reactions to the Event, every single volunteer in our team felt (despite the hard work) still as fit as ever on Sunday afternoon! Even before the end of the day we already received the first questions like: ‘When will you organise the next Baroque Event?’ Well, we could not have been given a bigger compliment. To us this definitely proofed that the Baroque Event Moravita 2010 was a huge success! Hereby we would like to thank all of our wonderful volunteers, sponsors, participants and visitors of the Baroque Event Moravita 2010 again, for everything they did for us. We are looking forward to making the Baroque Event Moravita 2012 a huge success once again!

'My Baroque Event" Diana Krischke (Hofreitschule Bückeburg) Gala show Baroque Event Moravita 2010 – By Diana Krischke “ Hofreitschule Bückeburg rarely travels to shows outside Bückeburg with their beloved, valuable stallions... and if they do so, you can be sure it is for a very, very special event!”

On invitation of our friends Ton and Aletta Duivenvoorden, all of our riders and almost all our horses were getting ready to travel to Coevorden, the Netherlands, where they would experience a unique and very special evening. The very warm welcome from the audience and the brilliant organisation of Moravita made this trip a fantastic experience! Precisely on time, right after our Saturday afternoon show at Bückeburg (Germany), the two horse trucks of BSS Horse Transports were present at our château to transport our valuable stallions of all existing baroque breeds, and our pony Jack. The horse trucks were very large and comfortable, which made it easy to load most of the stallions without any problems. Only our extravagant and sometimes a bit obstinate Lipizzaner stallion Meastoso Amata had his doubts at first, as usual, but luckily with some help of the driver, our team and of course some treats we were able to convince him to load as well. Meanwhile, all costumes were packed in some provisorical closets and all other equipment was packed as well. Right on time the convoy drove off to Holland with two enormous horse trucks and two cars. I myself was a passenger of one of the horse trucks and had a very amusing conversation with the driver. Meanwhile we were of course also watching the horses on camera, but all our gentleman were very calm and curious to what was about to happen next... In the other horse truck there even was the possibility to reach the horses while the truck was driving, which was especially a good thing for our stallion Amata...

Pagina 9 Thanks to the safe and flawless trip, we soon reached our destination Coevorden in a very relaxed state. At Moravita we were immediately welcomed by a fantastic team of volunteers- what a warm welcome and great hospitality! We loaded the horses off the truck, got them ready for the show and warmed up in the backstage part of the riding arena. Meanwhile, our growing audience was gathering in the wonderfully decorated indoor arena, waiting for our show to begin. Thus it did. Our show program began and both horse and rider were in their element. After some background information on the art of baroque riding, we presented the different baroque horsebreeds. All classical, baroque breeds were presented to the audience: the Berber, the Andalusian horse, the Lusitano, the Genetten and of course the Frederiksborger as ancient baroque breeds; the Knabstrupper and Lipizzan horse as more ‘modern’ baroque breeds, and of course the Friesian horse as a historically harness-bred horse. Of course we also mentioned the ‘special’ colors of some baroque horses, since those (very unique) horses were highly popular in the classical, baroque times. At Hofreitschule Bückeburg we own multiple special colored horses, who we also introduced to our audiencefor example the magical white-born horses (who were truly worth their weight in gold in the former Baroque times, a perlino (cream gene) and a leopard-patterned horse. Show champion ‘Boxter aus der Schutzende hand’ and the Spanish Genette ‘Bonmot du Roi’ presented an art of riding which has played an important role in emancipation, namely sidesaddle riding. Besides that, we of course also presented the royal art of classical dressage that is more known as ‘The top of high school dressage”: the airs (exercises) above the ground. Our snow-white born Knabstrupperstallion ‘pares’, Lipizzanstallion ‘Meastoso Amata’ and Knabstrupperstallion ‘Beryll aus der Schutzende Hand’ showed our audience the true intent of classical dressage. Back in the old, historical times, classical dressage and training was all about the art of riding and not about horse riding as a sport! The audience loved these complex and impressive exercises above the ground, and as if our stallions felt this enthusiasm they gave all they had and even more! Beryll, our ermine colored Knabstrupperstallion, was actually still at the very beginning of his education to become a ‘Caprioler’, but during the gala evening he showed the most wonderful and highest jumps of this art. Meanwhile our presentation was building up to the climax of the gala show: Another Art of Classical Riding. This included for example the ring tilting with a lance and the so-called ‘pigsticking’, where riders spear a bouquet off the ground or off another object using a lance. Last (but not least) our riders performed a swordfight from the back of a horse! Amata, Beryll, our blue-eyed Lusitano 'Ulysses' and world champion Berber 'Raisulih el Hadi' showed the most wonderful choreographs. By this time, the crowd was going wild and giving one standing ovation after the other. Both horse and rider were more than happy and completely blown away by this huge enthusiasm! Usually a show program is not really the main happing at events this size- people think of it more as something for ‘in between’ the sportive competitions. But here at Moravita it was not just the sportive aspect that counted most; it was the Art of Riding where it was all about. Every horse and every individual was appreciated for their intentions and their riding skills, something that means a lot to us. By the end of our show there were of course a thousand helping hands again, making sure our horses could be transported back to Bückeburg in the best possible condition. Thanks to all the great help of the friends and volunteers of Moravita, our riders had some time to talk to the visitors afterwards, where they were overwhelmed with compliments and positive reactions. After that it was already time for us to return to Bückeburg, where we had to give another performance the next Sunday afternoon. Even Meastoso Amata seemed happy and satisfied with his performance and was ready to return home. Hereby we would like to thank the amazing team of Moravita once again for all their help and the perfect organisation, the superb drivers of BSS Horse Transport and Ten Elsenhuyse for the wonderful decorations of the indoor arena during our gala show. Thank you all so much- for us it was an unforgettable experience as well! Diana Krischke

Sponsor of the Month BSS Horse Transports Kennard Buisman on behalf of BSS Horse Transports Since April the 10th of 1996 BSS Horse Transports has been a concept on the market when it comes down to national and international transport of horses. What started out years ago as a one-man business has nowadays expanded to a well known and professional enterprise for transporting horses. Over the last few years, BSS Horse Transports has developed a whole genuine method, with the goal to work customer-orientated with a dynamic approach. BSS Horse Transports does not only focus on fast and safe transport; there is also a continuous concern for the comfort and the well-being of the horses. Our drivers all have a broad experience working with horses, which allows them to transport each horse in a quiet and professional matter without any concerns for the customer. BSS is specialised in professional national and international transport of horses, housing and quarantine. Recently we provide the means to transport horses intercontinental, where all transport and actions will be taken care of by us or by our fellow colleague agents. Travelling large distances will thus be no problem for BSS Horse Transports – but also for shorter distances within the Netherlands, we provide just the right service for you! If you wish to be informed about our services or about our company, please visit our website: www.horsetransports.eu.

BSS Horse Transports en het Baroque Event Moravita Since a few years besides other services, we take care for the transportation of the horses of Classical Breeding & Training Centre Moravita at Coevorden. An utmost pleasant and relaxing relationship which also resulted in our contribution for the Baroque Event Moravita in 2010. For the unique gala show of Hofreitschule Bückeburg, we transported the horses of this Classical Riding School from Germany to the Netherlands, and after the show back from Moravita to Bückeburg. For both Moravita and Hofreitschule Bückeburg a scoop, since this Classical Riding School had not ever presented their spectacular gala show before outside the borders of Bückeburg. The pleasant and professional transport of course contributed to a positive first experience. Our own experiences at the Baroque Event Moravita 2010 were also of such nature that we did not hesitate to become the main sponsor of the gala show in 2012! This year we will once more provide the safe arrival of ‘the Kings of Bückeburg’ at Moravita, so they can once again make an unforgettable impression during the gala evening. We wish you all a very pleasant time at the Baroque Event Moravita 2012, and are looking forward to perhaps meet you during the gala show of Hofreitschule Bückeburg!
