This year marks the 11th sale of Sunset View Farms hosting the Family Traditions Female Sale. Just think how many genetics over the past 11 years from the female and bull sales have influenced many operations across the United States and Canada. Hopefully many will agree the SVF prefix has benefited the seedstock industry and the Simmental breed. One vital important part of the equation is you the customer. Thanks to everyone past and present. Everyone involved with this event once again welcomes you to the farm in Auburn on Saturday, April 25. Ronnie and Bryan work hard each year on selecting some of the top females from their herd to share with the Simmental industry, fellow breeders, and friends. It is important to the Sunset View program to continue to produce females that work in various types of programs, and they have done that successfully for years. If you know Ronnie Creek very well you know that family is very important to him. Therefore, it would be no surprise that year after year we focus on the matriarchs; the families that have done so much for the Sunset View program as well as many of you attending. You can flip through the catalog and see that these cow families that SVF has built upon are working and they continue to work each year. They are working in programs across the United States and into Canada. The opens, breds, and cow/calf pairs stem back to some of the great donors that have walked or are still walking the pastures here in Auburn. Genetics and families are a vital party to any successful cattle operation, and we hope you will come see what SVF has to offer again this year. This year at the sale SVF is offering a good group of special cows. This cows are proven and yes they have helped benefit the SVF program and they can continue to do the same. We tried to pass on some short history on some of these individuals. All of the individuals have had progeny in the past female sales and/or the bull sale. I encourage you to call Ronnie or Bryan to visit about the history of some of these breeding pieces. Don’t forget our other members HTP, Holli and Drew and Knox they are a big part of the sale. A special thanks to our friends Jeff and Leah Meinders at Clearwater Simmentals and Brian and Allie Loschen at Loschen Farms for assisting the SVF bunch on many details and marketing their special lots plus being a part of the Family Tradition sale. The genetics run tried, true, and strong throughout the entire catalog. We invite you to come take a look at the offering here at SVF, and visit with Bryan and Ronnie about your interests. This year will be broadcasting on DV Auctions if you can’t be with us on sale day, but know that you are welcome to come and view the offering at any time. If there is any way we can be of service to you as you make your selections, please do not hesitate to call DP Sales, Drew, Holli or I plus the Creek family, or any other consignors. We hope to see you and your family on April 24 and 25th in Auburn Ky for the 10th annual Family Tradition sale. Whether you have been to the majority of the sales or this is your first time we look forward to seeing you at the Family Tradition. After you get the catalog call or stop ahead of the sale to review the genetics.

It is amazing to watch a great cow family unfold and have a big impact on the breed. In speaking for Clearwater Farms it is humbling. As an owner we were fired up each time Serena claimed a championship however it is even more exciting mating such an awesome cow and watching those prospects develop day by day. That’s where we are now, having made the decision to offer pick of the three Broker heifer calves at Clearwater. We feel this prospects have a world of potential as a show female and then making that next chapter female from some program. When we made the investment with our partners the Trennepohls on Serena we felt she was a truly great one however her progeny have been exceptional. We invite you to come early by Milan, Indiana and inspect these Broker females. We will have them videoed as well. We sold a pregnancy at the North American and it was purchased for $10,000 by Hudson Pines. Trennepohl Farms sold at pregnancy in their sale for $20,000. The One Eyed Jack sons, Jack Around and Jacked Up sold for $91.000 for half interest. At the recent Frozen Gold sale a flush sold for $24,000 to Jenkins Cattle Co and Martin Livestock. Serena as a young donor is making rapid strides and with her progeny following along at a fast pace. A daughter by Broker will have value. Offering choice of our three Mr. HOC Broker sired heifer calves all born this spring. Selection to be made by May 20, 2015.

A5105T is the red head of the bunch and a darn good one, steaming from a cow family that has been amazing to work with. Her grand dam JF Ebonys Joy 5105R has been a female that we have mated so many different ways and have never had one we were disappointed in. Now A5105T’s dam Joys Shades has proven just how predictable this cow family is, this red head’s maternal siblings are in some very progressive programs such as Knapper Cattle, Jon Jordon/ Haley Hendrick, Jack McCoy and Manske Cattle Co in OK, along with several bulls that have performed well on test. This female is as sound as a cat, deep and broody she is bred to a Duracell son we raised out of an expecting a Dream Daughter he was one of the high selling bulls in the 2015 Family Traditions bull sale. We expect this female to have a positive impact on any progressive program

This year we decided to sell some proven cows. As you got thru the catalog, we want you the customer to know what these cows have done in the past. If we run out of room or don’t have something in the catalog please ask. Debi has been a superb producer of high quality offspring; Debi first calf was sold as one of the high seller at the 2011Head of the Class going to the Eggersman family. The following year daughters were sold for $6500, $4500 and $3500. Debi is still nice to look at being long necked, deep bodied, square made and powerful. She has only been flushed a few times in her career. Don’t over look cows like Debi. She is in the top 4% for calving ease.

We are proud that this line of superior Simmental genetics produced animals such as Honeydew, In Dew Time, and Duracell. Entering the donor pen, you couldn’t make one much more perfect; nice fronted, beautiful uddered, and easy keeping. Honeydew 2 has been successfully twice to United and most recently, Hooks Yukon. She has been our go to donor for her ability to add so much power and soundness to all her progeny, her daughter selling as lot# 43 and the set of full brothers who sold in the bull sale in February are a shining example of her producing ability. Don’t miss out on this deep bodied extremely easy fleshing female, to top it off she brings along with her an attractive outcross heifer calf sired by the Revenue bull that will make a donor herself when you are finished showing her.

This female is why Bella has been in our donor pen, she is just like her mother powerful, sound, deep and feminine are just a few of the similarities. The High Voltage bull really clicked here , we sold a group of full brothers to this female in the bull sale in February where they were very well received. Take note of her balanced set of EPDs this heifer will be a lot of fun to show and make into a top notch brood cow.

In the history of the Simmental breed many are aware of high quality when you mention the name Savannah. Just study the cow card of the family members. Peter Courtney of Triple C Farms selected Savannah at the G & L dispersal and she flourished in his program. Several of those Power Drive daughters have been big impact females over years. Just ask Steve Seig what the Savannah line has done for his program. Several years ago we purchased some embryos and had several Built Right daughters and all have been superior. S427 is one at SVF we should have flushed because of her super looks and her production record. We are retaining a daughter and in the past sales a son sold to Flying L in Ky. and a top female sold to Stacy George in Andersonville, Tn. Good epds to boot and API of 140.

Here is a proven and predictable cow that is very impressive. Lynette has always been good and year after year she always had one of the best calves of the entire crop. After years of doing an exceptional job we did flush once or twice. Her bulls are in the herds of Vick Farms, Wilson Farms and Blewett Farms. 4209P daughters have been selected by Tolle, Wesner and Rolling Hills. Kevin Bishop purchased embryos and has three outstanding Sharper Image calves. What would anyone expect with the breeding of Dream On, Emblazon and 6807. We know Lynette is not a spring chicken however she is good footed, sound, great uddered plus is the right type and kind. With all that said a Sledgehammer heifer calf at side. Both are homozygous polled.

W310 is a daughter of Bramlets Sacajalia known as Sage. John Jordan has much success out of that donor so we at HTP bought a flush several years ago. Here is sharp made thin necked female with extension and eye appeal. This young cow has a lot to offer and should work to many bulls. Marty Collier purchased her first calf. Sage X344, a half sister sold in the 2012 sale for 6250 and went to Pickerel Farms where she is a donor for his operation. Due to Star Player with a purebred calf.

The Built Right cows are some of the best in the country according to many breeders. Here somewhat a typical Built Right cow being big footed and sound plus deep bodied with a near perfect udder. This cow has been dependable and will continue to do so for many years. In 2011 Joey Clark purchased a top bull calf out of U R Desired. Backed by Power Drive. Due Star Player.

Here is a cow that is Priceless and proves her ability to be an efficient cow and produce the right type and kind each year. As you will see on sale day, U805 expresses volume, spring of rib, good feet with a sound structure and all this is a neat balanced package. It is easy to recommend brood cows like Priceless. We like faithful cows. In the 2103 sale Herman Schwantz, Lincoln, Ill. added a daughter by Movin Forward. Yea, Wade Shafer remember the grand dam Shoestring 600US J107 that Doug purchased at the dispersal for Fred Beck in Alabama. Good animals in her pedigree and bred to a good bull for a fall calf. U805 is homozygous black plus is in the top 105 for MM and MWW and in the top 20% for YW and 25% for WW.

Whether you are first timer or a seasoned Simmental breeder you should be able to find this cow on sale day. Here is what makes the Sim Angus cattle so popular. You can do about anything with this type of a cow and always make money. 344N is big footed, sound, super deep and yet maintains that nice extended front one third. This cow has always been impressive. We purchased this cow as a pregnant recip in the Pine Ridge dispersal. We have always been impressed with this Emblazon cow so we flushed her once to Better Than Ever. Matt Owen was paying attention last year and selected her two daughters by Better Than Ever. She will calve to Star Player and have a perfect udder. Sorry, she is a nine year old however with the advancement of the embryo transplant business she still is a good candidate. 344N is homozygous black. JOK as she is called was a past Jr show champion female at the Sweepstakes and after that has always been a top notch producer.
