Michele Musto, MD, has joined Baptist Primary Care in a collaborative care initiative with Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital and will be providing care to their skilled nursing facility residents. Dr. Musto believes that great medical care includes carefully listening to her patients in order to assure she incorporates their perspectives into the treatment plan. Date: March 9th, 2015 To: Baptist Health Physicians and Extenders From: Lou Penrod, MD, MS Re: Lab Rad Go-Live EMR enhancements are coming April 11th of 2015 to migrate our laboratory and radiology departments to Cerner Millennium EMR. This migration will improve access to clinical information and promote safer patient care processes/practices through bar code based positive patient identification. While this migration has the largest impact on laboratory and radiology areas, there will be physician and extender impact. Additional information related to the lab rad go-live may be found on the Physicians’ Portal homepage. Below are key physician centric items that will require additional training and rebuild: 1. Blood Transfusion ordering process 2. ED Rainbow protocol and “Add-On” Blood ordering process 3. Laboratory and Radiology orders that are active on an inpatient are being discontinued on April 10th and will need to be re-entered 4. Anatomic Pathology Specimens collected during procedures will require an electronic order to generate the appropriate label for processing. 5. Physician and extender favorites are being erased and will require rebuild; Please note favorite remediation cannot occur prior to April 11th. Beginning March 2nd, the Baptist Health Clinical Informatics trainers will be proactively reaching out to physicians to schedule favorite rebuild appointments. Congratulations Dr. Rama Pamela Rama, MD has been named to the Board of Directors of the First Coast Division of the American Heart Association. Dr. Rama will serve a 2 year term as the Boards President. In her role as President, Dr. Rama will provide leadership, advice and council to the American Heart Association’s volunteers and staff as they work together to achieve community goals centered around cardiovascular education, advocacy issues and generating revenue to support AHA research. “I am honored to serve as Board President for the local American Heart Association. Their mission, to build healthier lives, free from cardiovascular disease and stroke, is what I work to achieve as a cardiologist every day. I know first hand the difference the research,education and advocacy funded by the AHA makes in the lives of countless American families. As a long time volunteer, I am excited to partner with them on a deeper level and look forward to doing incredible things for our community.” Dr. Rama’s term will run through 2016.
