They hold a fan in one hand while moving dramatically. Feet are strongly grounded, the hands and feet move abruptly. Sanghyang Trance Dances A ritual dance using a divine force that enters the bodies of the entranced dancers. Nowadays, the showering of flowers is also addressed as a welcoming ritual to visiting tourists. Baris Dance A warrior's dance, usually performed by men, either solo or in a group of five or more. The dance portrays the full range of emotions displayed by a warrior; anger, courage, ferocity and passion.

Kecak Dance / Fire Dance A spectacular dance, usually performed during the night and the performers surrounding a bonfire. The Westerners call it 'The Monkey Dance', because the movements of the dancers reminds them of monkey’s movements. Joged Dance / Joged Bumbung Exclusively secular dances of Bali, where the flashy-dressed Joged dancers invites men from the crowd to dance with her in a pretence of seduction. Gambuh / Drama Dance It tells the courtly story of a Javanese prince in his quest to find a beautiful princess. Wayang Kulit (Shadow Puppet Theatre) One of the great story-telling traditions of the Javanese and Balinese. Oka Kartini's, Ubud: Sun & Wed - 8.00pm.

Leko & Janger Janger is a dance performed by young girls. Peacock crown shaped headwear made from intricately woven gold-colored, dried coconut leaves which rests perfectly on their heads.
