editors notes Wowsers! We're freight-training toward the end of 2018 and man, hasn't this been an epic 10 and a bit months so far. But, it's about this time of the year where those who haven't hit many, if any, of their goals for the year start to really freak out. 'Holy shit. It's Christmas in 12 weeks...' 'I desperately need to get sales in before the years out!' 'Another year almost done and I still haven't achieved my goals.' But the thing is... The reason they think like this is because they've coasted their way through the year - to this point. Well, that's not true for all, but it is for way too many. And the truth is that they do this stuff - the exact same way - every bloody year. And then once the year draws to a close... They freak out. Make New Years resolutions declaring that 'this year' will be different... But it never is. Why? Because they're stuck in a pattern of self-sabotaging behaviours, driven by shitty belief systems, social conditioning and habits that they. simply do not have the (conscious) capacity to change. Sound familiar? And this stuff, well, it breaks my fucking heart because... 1) I have been that person (I was that person for way too long!!) 2) Eliminating that pattern from your life is so much easier than most people think. Inside this issue you'll find articles, freebies and offerings that'll ensure you see this year out with a massive smile and heaps of celebrations.

the OH SHIT stage of Making Videos:

3 Crucial Steps to Beating the Oh Shit Stage by: rachel dunn You know the feeling when you are on top of the world, and everything is going really well. You love everyone and everything, and there is a spring in your step, you feel light, your clothes are looking and fantastic, and you manage to get a parking space every single time. And then all of a sudden something happens. You hit a road-block, you go into chaos, a downward spiral and feel like you want to give up. The exact same thing happens in video making. I have lost count at the number of times we have created a video, we have been really excited, filmed everything, started to edit and it hits (drum roll) “THE OH SHIT STAGE” hits. There is no other word for it. If you have ever planned and made a video, this might sound familiar... You are making a video... you have everything planned, and you know exactly how you want it to turn out. You have started editing and then... "Oh shit, I knew I should have got that shot... it would look so good here."

The Oh Shit of Making Videos: 3 Crucial Steps to Beating the Oh Shit Stage

"Oh shit, why do I always do that thing with my mouth? It ruins the whole video!" "Oh shit, this is terrible... it just isn't going to work out. If I publish, this people will laugh at me!" The Oh Shit Stage is normal in making videos.

'...YOU HAVE EVERYTHING PLANNED, AND YOU KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU WANT IT TO TURN OUT. YOU HAVE STARTED EDITING AND THEN...'

The best thing you can do is keep going. There is an old paradigm behind the scenes playing out called “I’m not good enough”. This is playing out and affecting how you are feeling while you are trying to get your videos done. Have you been here? I think everyone has to be honest and it doesn't just have to be in video making. People go through the Oh Shit Stage in all parts of life. If we are telling the truth, it still happens to us ALL THE TIME! Every time we strive for bigger goals, try something new and even for our documentary this has happened. You can't escape the Oh Shit Stage, but you can get through it and after going through it time after time we can tell you the 3 Crucial Steps to Beating the Oh Shit Stage. This will help you when it comes to video making but you can apply it to all parts of life!

1. Understand This Is Part Of The Creative Process Sometimes when we are so invested in something our judgement can get a bit cloudy. Especially when editing, you are looking at such small details and looking at yourself over and over again so let’s face it... you can be the biggest critic of your own videos. The first step to get through the Oh Shit Stage is to walk away. Walk away for an hour, a day, overnight and come back with clear eyes and a nice strong coffee in hand. If your video has an emotional connection, the whole time you will be thinking about the value for your audience. I am sure it isn’t as bad as you think. I am guilty of throwing a tantrum at one of my videos and then coming back a couple of weeks later only to discover

The Oh Shit of Making Videos: 3 Crucial Steps to Beating the Oh Shit Stage

that is was fine. I had my tail between my legs and released the footage getting huge engagement. This has even happened with old content I wanted to take down.

BIG LESSON: Release your video no matter what. Your view of yourself is clouded and will never be the same as the way other people see you.

'... IT BECAME AN EASY DECISION FOR HIM TO STOP THE PRODUCTION OF THE VIDEO VERSION OF THE I know how easy it is for fear to get in the way of 'YOUR greatness and you don't want that to happen. You PODCAST.' are great at what you do, an expert in fact, and it is AUDIENCE HAS so important to get your message out into the world. You have a unique way of looking at the world and this video is an extension of you. I remember this happening to one client who created a fantastic video only to hide it from the world for a few months. Thinking it wasn’t good enough. She was in the Oh Shit Stage and didn’t release a video that would help people. As soon as I watched the video she released it and leads started coming in followed by comments and messages of engagement. So get it out there no matter what!

NO IDEA HOW THIS VIDEO WAS MEANT TO TURN OUT, AND THAT IS A MASSIVE ADVANTAGE FOR YOU!

The Oh Shit of Making Videos: 3 Crucial Steps to Beating the Oh Shit Stage

2. A Change is as Good as a Holiday With the Oh Shit Stage you have two choices. Firstly, you can keep hating what you are doing or you can push through and finish the video understanding that the Oh Shit Stage is part of the process. What is it going to be? If you have made the decision to push through and are still here well done!! Give yourself a deadline to work towards so it isn’t open-ended. Having no deadline is the worst thing to do to yourself. Learn to trust the process and know that anything you produce is going to work exactly how it needs to right now. The energy you put into your work is always going to come right back to you whether it is good energy or negative so if you want this video to work and your marketing campaign to achieve your goals you must trust that it will! Your audience has no idea how this video was meant to turn out, and that is a massive advantage for you! Keep going! Finish your project to the best of your ability because your audience will only ever see it and appreciate it for what it is. Once you change your mindset, you will feel as if you are working on an entirely new project and you won't be saying Oh Shit anymore.

'I AM GUILTY OF THROWING A TANTRUM AT ONE OF MY VIDEOS AND THEN COMING BACK A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT IS WAS FINE.'

The Oh Shit of Making Videos: 3 Crucial Steps to Beating the Oh Shit Stage

3. Done is Better Than Perfect GET THAT CONTENT OUT THERE! You wouldn't believe how many times clients have come to us in the chaos of the Oh Shit Stage to say they need to reshoot their videos because they aren't good enough. Let me tell you a little secret... nothing I have ever done has been perfect. OMG, I can’t believe I actually said that. There is always room for improvement and if I were to start a project again I would always do parts differently. Every single video you do aim to do 1% better than the last one. Before you know it, you will be making documentaries and all kinds of videos and be happy with the quality. I can honestly tell you that the tools are easy to learn. It is more about who you are being, your message and your creativity that will continuously grow. You will get better with every video you make, so my advice to you and all of our clients is that there is no need to create perfection. You will get more results and experience creating ten well-made videos than you will if you work tirelessly to make one perfect video.

Enjoy the video making process and break through the Oh Shit Stage when it comes around! Just by being aware that it happens you will be set free!! Here’s to changing the world with your content.

podcasting:

capturing the Attention Economy by: annemarie cross Struggling to capture AND maintain your ideal clients attention? You’re not alone. Studies have shown that the average attention span is around 12 seconds. Which is why we’re told to keep our videos short and concise (Less than 5 minutes). We’re told to write shorter articles (That’ll take less than 10 minutes to read) - Source Global Research. However, what if there WAS a way where we could capture AND maintain our ideal clients attention? Where you could speak with them because they wanted to hear from you? In their own personal time? For 20-30 minutes on a regular basis? You can with a podcast.

podcasting: capturing the Attention Economy

In fact according Edison Research Infinite Dial Australia 2017 places where people often listen to podcasts, include: At home: 78% In a car/truck: 39% Walking around: 26% Riding Public Transport: 23% Work: 21% Gym: 12% Not only are podcast listeners listening to podcasts in their own personal time, they are also more likely to follow companies and brands on social media. Including the following popular social media platforms: Facebook: 82% Instagram: 48% Pinterest: 39% Snapchat: 36% Linkedin: 33% Twitter: 24% Another interesting fact the study identified was that podcast listeners are also more active on every social media channel, which means as a business/brand, you’re more likely to build a relationship with your ideal client across various touch points (i.e. social media channels) IF you also have a podcast.

'PODCAST LISTENERS ARE ALSO MORE ACTIVE ON EVERY SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNEL, WHICH MEANS AS A BUSINESS/BRAND, YOU’RE MORE LIKELY TO BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR IDEAL CLIENT ACROSS VARIOUS TOUCH POINTS...'

podcasting: capturing the Attention Economy

With Gary Vaynerchuk's statement: “Attention is the only currency,” its no wonder businesses are jumping on the podcasting bandwagon in the hope to capture some of the ‘attention economy,’ with over half a million podcasts on Apple Podcasts. What about you? Are you considering starting a podcast? Before you press record here are my TOP three tips to ensure the time and money you invest will generate the best results in terms of influence, leads, enquiries and paying customers.

TIP ONE: Get clear on WHY WHY are you starting your podcast? Your desired outcome, will impact the overall strategy of your podcast. Not interested in doing an ongoing podcast, but rather want to leverage your podcast to build your list, while generate leads and enquiries? Have you recently authored a book and want to create a podcast that dives deeper into some of the chapters, with the call to action inviting people to access the first three chapters, in order to build your list? Are you regularly using speaking to build your profile and want to use a podcast in order to continue building know, like and trust with the audience, while grow your list? Do you want to build your speaker profile by leveraging a podcast? Do you want to use your podcast to build relationships with influencers within your industry?

'WITH GARY VAYNERCHUK'S STATEMENT: “ATTENTION IS THE ONLY CURRENCY,” ITS NO WONDER BUSINESSES ARE JUMPING ON THE PODCASTING BANDWAGON...'

podcasting: capturing the Attention Economy

Each of the above scenarios would involve a different strategy in order to generate the best results.

TIP TWO: Get clear on WHAT WHAT will make you and your podcast unique so you can cut through the noise? WHAT is your key message, and more importantly what are you doing differently that’s going to cut through the noise? What EXPERIENCE do you want to create for your listeners? And, how will your branding reflect this, in terms of your podcast title, your intro/outro, your graphic, your music and voice over professional? What unique qualities and characteristics do you want to continuously bring out in the way you present information and in the way you relate to and interview guests? WHAT words and phrases are your ideal clients as they speak about their challenges/issues and what they desire?
Unless you’re clear on this, it’s going to be hard for you to enter the conversations they are having, let along have any hope of changing and impacting the conversation

'YOUR DESIRED OUTCOME, WILL IMPACT THE OVERALL STRATEGY OF YOUR PODCAST.'

podcasting: capturing the Attention Economy

TIP THREE: Get clear on HOW HOW will you leverage your podcast? What strategy will you have in place pre- and post-production to maximise your results? Will you create a podcast series that encourages people to access additional resources, so you can build your list? Will you be using your podcast interviews to build your influence in a specific area in your industry? Therefore the information you speak about, as well as your guests bring value into this topic, therefore elevating your reputation as the ‘go to’ person in that area? Will you be using your podcast as a way to get in front of key decision makers (i.e. your ideal client) BEFORE you even begin recording the content?

'EVERY PERSON’S SITUATION AND CIRCUMSTANCES WILL BE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT DEPENDING ON THEIR INDUSTRY/IDEAL CLIENT.'

podcasting: capturing the Attention Economy

For instance one of my client’s and I mapped out Phase 1 of her podcast strategy, which enabled her to by-pass gatekeepers and have her speak directly with a CEO of a leading Australian retailer. She was gobsmacked she could do this. However, it was part of the strategy leading up to her podcast series launch. Every person’s situation and circumstances will be slightly different depending on their industry/ideal client. But the principles (and questions above) are similar. So, in summary, get clear on: WHY you are starting your podcast? WHAT makes you and your podcast unique? HOW you are going to leverage your podcast to generate the best results. Only then should you press record.

Because that’s #PodcastingWithPurpose

better Marriage better Business

Part One by: mirella deboni The 3 Biggest issues for married couples in business & what you can do it about it Most couples find it hard to have a successful business and a happy, loving relationship, but the truth is you really can have it all. You can have a successful business, work together, raise a family and be in love all at the same time. Ok, to be honest some days you will be great in business and other days you’ll be a better lover but overall, you can find the balance to make it all work out. I work with a lot of married couples in business and I wanted to share with you the main issues that arise so if you’re married in business it will either normalise your feelings and situation and hopefully will help you improve it. The 3 biggest issues of couples married in business: Communication Work and home life balance Resentment

better Marriage - better Business (Part One)

'WHEN THE CONVERSATION RESTS SOLELY ON THE BUSINESS IT CAN MAKE PEOPLE FEEL LONELY IN THE RELATIONSHIP LEADING THEM TO BELIEVE THAT THEY REALLY DON'T KNOW EACH OTHER ANYMORE.'

Let’s look at each one shall we.

Communication All too often, there are awkward silences between couples because they don't know what to say and they don't know how to keep their partner engaged in conversation. When this silence appears, people start to panic and think their relationship is in trouble. “We have no connection, we don't know each other anymore, we don't have anything in common.” etc. “All We Talk About is The Business!” Does this sound familiar? All we talk about is work. We have nothing else in common. This is something I hear on a regular basis. People believe, that because they talk about work all the time, then that means they have nothing else in common. partner.”

So, how is this a problem? When the conversation rests solely on the business it can make people feel lonely in the relationship leading them to believe that they really don't know each other anymore. They stop looking at each other as their husband, wife, lover, friend and instead see each other as their “business If you’re running a business together, it makes sense that the business is the centre of conversation though, right? The business is what you do, it’s where you spend your time, it’s what you have in common - today. Talking about your business isn’t a bad thing. The goal is to add more to your conversations. Make them more personal. Talk about things you’ve done in the past, things you want to achieve in the future, consider and discuss new hobbies or getaways you can do together. When it comes to conversation you have 3 angles to consider – the past, the present and the future. Switch through these angles and you’ll always have plenty to talk about.

better Marriage - better Business (Part One)

Work Life Balance I know this is really common and people find it really hard to switch off from the business and take it down a notch for their family or personal life. So my advice is don’t bother thinking you should switch off at all. Running a business is a 24 hour job. It’s true and people who tell you they work 10 hours a week and make a fortune usually follow that up with “and let me show you how you can do it too….” It’s a great marketing statement but people who are true entrepreneurs are constantly thinking, analysing and being inspired to grow their business. Creativity doesn’t have an off switch. What you can do instead is realize that you are the business. It’s a lifestyle and you need to balance that part out and learn to enjoy time away from the business as much as you enjoy being in the business. Be present wherever you are. When you’re with your family focus your attention on them and be in the moment. When you’re at work focus on the business. Remember, your business is a way of life and it isn’t separate to who you are or what you do. It is simply a way of life, it does not stop you doing anything, and it’s providing you the way to do what you want in life. It's up to you to choose what that is. The business does not need to give you permission to take holidays or time off. You’re the business owner and you’re the one charge.

'TALKING ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS ISN’T A BAD THING. THE GOAL IS TO ADD MORE TO YOUR CONVERSATIONS. MAKE THEM MORE PERSONAL.'

better Marriage - better Business (Part One)

Resentment The truth is when couples start out running a business together there’s usually one person more interested in starting their own business. Perhaps they are more confident or more of a risk taker than their partner. But somehow, they convince their partner that this is a smart move and together they can make it a success. Usually this conversation dangles the carrot of spending more time together, living a life of freedom, more time with their family etc. And who doesn’t want all of that?! While the other person is interested in all the benefits, they don’t quite understand the dream (other than to make money) or aren’t as keen to make the same kind of sacrifices and sometimes they don’t have as much to offer the business as their partner. This can leave one person feeling like they’re carrying the weight of the responsibilities and doing all the hard work, and at the same time the other person feels inadequate, undervalued and invisible. This is where resentment kicks in from both parties. Rather than working as a team working along side each other, it becomes a hierarchy situation and no one wants to be the one at the bottom.

'... SOMEHOW, THEY CONVINCE THEIR PARTNER THAT THIS IS A SMART MOVE AND TOGETHER THEY CAN MAKE IT A SUCCESS. '

better Marriage - better Business (Part One)

And if you want to have a better marriage and better business follow these 3 Golden Rules:

1. Always be Kind This is where affection, compliments, gratitude and appreciation come into play. Treat each other as your “special person.” The only names you ever call each other are sweetheart, darling, love, honey – you know what I mean. Being kind doesn’t cost you a thing so it give it freely and abundantly.

'WORK TOGETHER AS A TEAM ON THE SOLUTION – BRINGING IN NEW BUSINESS TO CREATE MORE WEALTH. AND ALWAYS SHOW APPRECIATION TO YOUR PARTNER FOR WHAT THEY DO.' 2. Always be Respectful Treat each other as equals in the business especially in front of and with customers. Let go of any hierarchy because only one person can be at the top, which creates a win/lose scenario. Always keep each other informed and never assume the other person knows what your thinking or what your plans are. Discuss the direction of your business and lives and make decisions together.

better Marriage - better Business (Part One)

3. Always be marketing your business Avoid the feast and famine cycles in business and always be marketing your business. Remember to look at the stats because the stats don’t lie. You’re either investing in results or just spending your hard earned money. Good marketing means measuring your results and doing more of what works. So just let me point this out - the business is not the enemy! The problem is people forget to invest time into their relationship. They get busy (usually with running the business) and then wonder why their relationship is turning to shit or why they’re not feeling loved. Whatever you put your time and attention to will grow.

So now is a good time to reconnect as a couple - as well as business partners so you can feel close, special and loved up again because you really can have it all.

a friendly Reminder that it is Super Fucking Important that you Focus on the Good Stuff! But more than that... by: laura francis THAT YOU ALLOW YOURSELF TIME AND GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO CELEBRATE ALL OF YOUR WINS. No matter how large or small they may 'appear'. Because, regardless of their 'size', every single win comes with it's own game-changing impact and significance. Every. Single. One. Of. Them!

a friendly Reminder that it is Super Fucking Important that you Focus on the Good Stuff!

'ALL OF THAT STUFF KEEPS YOU STUCK IN A PATTERN OF NOT ENOUGHNESS. OF BELIEVING THAT YOU JUST DON'T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES.'

editors column with laura francis The shifts you have experienced. Your progress, growth, expansion. Your achievements. How you show up. How you serve. The value you deliver. The transformation you provide. The abundance that is life it's-fucking-self. How fucking magikal you are. How strong and resilient you are. How loved you are. How supported you are. Who you are as a fucking BEing. The gift that is life. That you are a powerful as fuck creator. And it is also SUPER FUCKING IMPORTANT that you DO NOT focus on the SHIT STUFF The The The The The The The The

stories. self-loathing. not-enoughness. lack. mental beat-ups. self-sabotaging thoughts. results you're not getting. sales you're not making.

'... REGARDLESS OF THEIR 'SIZE', EVERY SINGLE WIN COMES WITH IT'S OWN GAMECHANGING IMPACT AND SIGNIFICANCE.'

a friendly Reminder that it is Super Fucking Important that you Focus on the Good Stuff!

editors column with laura francis

The clients your not attracting. The overdue bills.

ALL OF THAT STUFF KEEPS YOU STUCK IN A PATTERN OF NOT ENOUGH-NESS. OF BELIEVING THAT YOU JUST DON'T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES. The biggest fuck of all with focusing on that stuff, is that the more you focus on it, the more of it you get. And. For fucks sake babe... Give Give Give Give

yourself yourself yourself yourself

a fucking break. some fucking credit. some fucking love. some appreciation.

Know. Believe. Trust. And have faith. That all of this. All the shit stuff. Is ego led. (And it's all bullshit.) But, also know that it is ALL happening for a reason. Because... You are constantly evolving. You are constantly changing. You are constantly expanding.

'IMO (IN MY OPINION) THERE'S A MASSIVE FUCKING DELUSION BEING TAUGHT IN THE COACHING INDUSTRY...'

a friendly Reminder that it is Super Fucking Important that you Focus on the Good Stuff! You are constantly upleveling. And without that... You cannot become the person you desire to be. You cannot become the person you were born to be.

editors column with laura francis

'... YOU'VE BEEN CONDITIONED TO BELIEVE THAT YOU SIMPLY CANNOT HAVE IT...'

You cannot manifest the business and life you were born for.

Well...

IMO (in my opinion) there's a massive fucking delusion being taught in the coaching industry...

It's painful. It's messy. It's uncomfortable.

That manifestation is all fucking love and light.

Honestly, it's bloody as fuck

That darkness plays no part in the manifestation process. That you must learn how to manifest what you desire. My personal experience, and that of my soulmate clients, tells an entirely different story.

Manifestation, the entire process, ESPECIALLY when you're uplevelling like a motherfucker and going after stuff that has ALWAYS been out of your reach before... ... Stuff that you've been conditioned to believe that YOU SIMPLY CANNOT HAVE IT... For whatever fucking shitful reason....

That kind of manifestation...

It's a constant battle... A fight between the darkness and the light. Between the contrast within. The contrast that most people deny. Refuse to talk about.

The kicker is though, that...

In order to be able to manifest what you desire. In order to have what you most want in your experience. Â In your present reality. In order for you to be the person who experiences the massive internal (and often times external) shifts required to rise up and have that which you have wanted your entire life but didn't dare to claim it...

a friendly Reminder that it is Super Fucking Important that you Focus on the Good Stuff! For fear of: Judgement Retribution Being told (again) that you can't Not being worthy Not being deserving Being made wrong Being too assertive (So. Much. Stuff.) You must first fucking release all of the shit that you're holding onto (with a vice-like death grip) that no longer serves you... The stuff that in most cases, never did bloody serve you. The stuff that was never really yours but you took it on board as yours anyway. And releasing that stuff feels... Icky Unsafe Scary as fuck

editors column with laura francis And that... That stuff right there... That's the reason most people don't ever go there, don't even bother... That's the reason most people won't even allow themselves to try... That's the reason most people continue to deny themselves those things they desire most... That's the reason most people stay stuck in the (uncomfortable as fuck) comfort of the conditioning of what they know... That's the reason most people won't take a chance on themselves, take a risk, back themselves to do something 'out of the ordinary'... But. That's not what being an entrepreneur is all about. That's not what being an evolutionary being is all about.

You feel like you're falling apart. Like you are unraveling. That the damage done will be irreparable.

That's not what growth and expansion and transformation is all about.

It feels like your world is ending. Coming down around you.

That's not what being a impactful and influential leader is all about.

You feel like you're losing your shit. That you must be going crazy.

That's not what being an game-changing rebellious creator is all about.

It feels like you have done it all wrong. That you're going about everything the wrong way.

That's not what being a fully expressed child of the Universe is all about.

THAT IS NOT WHAT MANIFESTATION IS ALL ABOUT!

a friendly Reminder that it is Super Fucking Important that you Focus on the Good Stuff!

by: dani strong You know what I freaking adore in a woman? When she gives herself permission to be whoever the fuck she wants. She doesn’t conform. She doesn’t worry what people think. She gets up and shows up in the world in her full glory vibe - whatever she’s feeling that day. Permission to show up however she's feeling - no mask; simply her raw realness in this world. I am totally intoxicated by women like this because once upon a time I was caught up in the world of perfectionism and guess what..? I never lived up to my fucking standards. It was exhausting - rocking the mask of perfection when underneath it all my soul was screaming at me to be myself. But who even was that? I had no idea because coupled with that perfectionism was ‘control freak’ too. Oh, that was fun!

tap into the VITALITY within

With control leading the way, my masculine ran the show leaving me tired, exhausted, depleted and unhappy - yet on the outside, I was all 'I got this'. Ugh. Although my soul was tugging at my heartstrings to change, I didn’t know what that felt or looked like. You know when your vibe is off but you don’t really know how to change it..? Yeah. That was me. Fast forward about 10 years and a profound trip to Peru, immersing in Pachamama, shamanic healings and getting well acquainted with Machu Picchu allowed me to merge the masculine and feminine in me so beautifully. It all came down to LOVE. Love lead the way - a full, deep, intoxicating embodiment of love down to my core, discovering new depths to nourish and love me more.

'WITH CONTROL LEADING THE WAY, MY MASCULINE RAN THE SHOW LEAVING ME TIRED, EXHAUSTED, DEPLETED AND UNHAPPY - YET ON THE OUTSIDE, I WAS ALL 'I GOT THIS'. UGH.' The defining moment began when I started the 2-day ascent to Machu Picchu, surrendering, and then surrendering some more into the hypnotic energy of the mountains that held so much wisdom, the soul learnings from Pachamama herself. Understanding that if I tried to compete with her energy, my breath was literally taken away in the altitude. Nothing but surrender. Finding myself being lead through my lesson, the mountains whispering the ancient learnings to my soul; the last 39 years of life culminating in a moment I'll never forget. It fills my eyes with tears as I recall the amazingness now.

And so Living With Vitality invites women to live a life that sets their freaking souls on fire; starting with themselves. The essence of that is love and connection to self to be all you want to be in this world; that it is a woman’s birthright to love herself fiercely. And holy fuck those ripples.. You with me?! It’s these ripples, those vibrations of ‘I absolutely fucking love life and love myself first and foremost’ that is going to impact the collective - to create a beautiful LOVE collective across the Universe. We talk about purpose and what we’re born to do. For years I had no idea. Yet I felt like I had to know, go to uni and get the certificate that told me I had succeeded. I felt I had to have ‘stuff’, a certain amount of money, be married, children, the perfect job in a high flying corporate company and NONE OF IT appealed to me. I didn’t want to blindly follow the masses with their lens of the world impacted by the systems that dull us down. Watching friends I went to school with in their house with the kids, the dog, the holiday once a year - all the while, the permanent etch of mediocrity on their face traded for their dreams. FUCK THAT! I knew there was more to life than that.

'I AM TOTALLY INTOXICATED BY WOMEN LIKE THIS BECAUSE ONCE UPON A TIME I WAS CAUGHT UP IN THE WORLD OF PERFECTIONISM...'

tap into the VITALITY within

From a young age, I always knew I was going to rock the status quo and it excited me and terrified me at the same time. To be a trailblazer as a child, knowing that I didn't quite fit in because I wasn't meant to.

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” Ralph Waldo Emerson I freaking love this quote! From a tender age, I knew my soul's calling was different to the children growing up around me and I remember wondering why my friends simply regurgitated what teachers and their parents were telling them, the etches of mediocrity already starting to form. Vitality was rife within me at that young age and through the years and decades it's evolved and grown with me. I've had my fair share of tests; trailblazing through life is not for the faint-hearted, yet now I wear these badges with honour; without them, I would not be the woman I am now, creating my unique ripples in the world.

'I KNEW MY SOUL'S CALLING WAS DIFFERENT TO THE CHILDREN GROWING UP AROUND ME AND I REMEMBER WONDERING WHY MY FRIENDS SIMPLY REGURGITATED WHAT TEACHERS AND THEIR PARENTS WERE TELLING THEM...'

tap into the VITALITY within

When I think about it, while my soul was leading the way, it came down to a series of choices. The more fearless the choice, the more I was rewarded with a quantum leap in the direction of my dreams. I had to test that theory though, when I started 'sticking' myself in life through listening to fear, settling in mediocrity; existing day to day on my hamster wheel of life until I was smacked in the face one time too many and I'd had enough.

I moved through fear, fast, and that was when life truly began for me. When Living With Vitality was born and my quest, burned deep in my soul, forged its way through the lessons bringing me to this moment in my never-ending journey when I continue to make choices that will lead me to more greatness, more quantum leaps and more love and connection to self and the collective. meet rachel dunn & michael hole - Girl Director: Game-changers, Revolutionaries, Visual Storytellers & Viral Video Creators What motivated and inspired you to start your own business? Rachel: I always wanted my own business from a very young age! My Dad owned his own record store and it just made sense to me that you can create your own business, create your own life and create your own destiny. It took a while for me to actually understand what having my own business meant. It is definitely hard work but in the end there is nothing better. Michael: I always wanted to have my own business where I could be creative and actually express what I stand for. I worked for many years in the corporate world and generally I wasn't able to express creativity or anything that was important to me. Tell us about your journey so far as an online entrepreneur? Michael: Well, we’d worked in video and marketing for over 20 years, but we started to go completely online in 2013. We began by creating online programs and doing some workshops like our nine day live-in Residential program. It was all very fun and exciting! Within six months we were getting really good results and started getting our first $20k months.

What we have loved is that this gave us the chance to leave Sydney and get out of the rat race and move to the Sunshine Coast for a bit of a tree change. Everything has been really exciting because the online world has so much growth and it is just a constantly expanding universe. We find that people are wanting to grow, and that is really exciting, because everything that we do, we are able to show and help people with to get the results that they want. Rachel: It is actually pretty weird to think about it... I never imagined how cool it would be to be an entrepreneur and that you could go online and just be able to help people from all over the world.

I just see the journey so far and how it started from a vision and a dream to create something... you go through this journey and From this we found that there was a really good niche for us to work with where we could you do things and hit some bumps along the way but you get through them. The journey is really help people. We attracted some really really about the person you become, the interesting clients and businesses - they lessons you learn and what you are able to always looked outside the box, like us, so implement along the way. seeing the effect we had through these people, and watching the ripple effect, has While we have an online business we also see been a major part of our journey. the importance in taking it outside and mixing

it with face-to-face teaching. People are so busy today, so online learning is great, but having the community and personal connection is so important.

you. By studying the people that are successful you can start to take the lessons and implement them for yourself. You can achieve so much as one person.

Having these two elements intertwined is what we really stand for.

Just imagine if we all created as much as these guys do! How much of a better place would the world become! That is the kind of legacy that I want to leave.

What has been your most influential experience to date as an entrepreneur? Why and how did this change the game of entrepreneurship for you? Rachel: I think the most influential experience is watching other people, like Richard Branson, Gary Vee and others like them, be successful entrepreneurs and seeing how much one person can achieve if they really set their mind to it. I have been really fascinated by what one person is capable of and studied what they do, how they think and then I just say, "Well you know what, if they can do it then so can we!"

Michael: For me the most influential experience of this journey has to be the time where we had been growing and doing really well, then in 2016 we hit a point where we had sort of overcomplicated our business. So we stripped it right back and started travelling around the country and working along the way. We rethought the business and simplified it into our one main program and fine-tuned our main workshop structure. This really helped us and made us realise that simplicity is the answer to everything.

That has been the most influential experience for me and really allowed me to grow and And if you’re not able to do it then it means you have blocks in the way that are stopping we've seen a big growth in our results since then.

'... WE HAD BEEN GROWING AND DOING REALLY WELL, THEN IN 2016 WE HIT A POINT WHERE WE HAD SORT OF OVERCOMPLICATED OUR BUSINESS.'

meet rachel dunn & michael hole - Girl Director: Game-changers, Revolutionaries, Visual Storytellers & Viral Video Creators Where do you operate from?

able to launch on the date as promised.

Michael: We work from home on the Sunshine Coast but we are able to travel all over the country running our workshops. We have done work in the US and we will be heading back there next year as well. So really we work in the ether space...

So, that is how we started and we built from there. The great part was we knew what we were going to create so we were able to release the first week of content and keep creating for the following eight weeks and just release one week at a time.

Rachel: It is great, we are able to work from home but the influence we have is global. We can work from anywhere so long as we have a computer and Wi-Fi!

Once this was done we had an online program and were able to do our workshops to bring more and more people into our online program.

What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running? Rachel: First we had a really clear vision and purpose of what we were creating and we knew exactly who we wanted to help. For us it was about creating an amazing brand. We are constantly looking for creative and fun ways to teach videos so that entrepreneurs can tap into a space that is multi-dimensional. There are so many ways for people to learn and grow in their marketing. Michael: After creating the amazing brand, finding our niche group of clients and defining what it was that they needed, our next step was to create a plan for our online training and workshop training. Then for the next step we set a date for launch, create a marketing funnel with video that was used to build our list. From that we sold people into our online program. And actually it wasn't until we had sold it that we started creating the content and we were

' ... WE HAD A REALLY CLEAR VISION AND PURPOSE OF WHAT WE WERE CREATING AND WE KNEW EXACTLY WHO WE WANTED TO HELP.'

meet rachel dunn & michael hole - Girl Director: Game-changers, Revolutionaries, Visual Storytellers & Viral Video Creators What have been your biggest challenges so far? How did you overcome these challenges? Michael: The biggest challenge was stepping up and being ready to sell our online program - finding what people needed and selling them into that. This had a follow on effect of challenges around cash flow and things like that. We had both left our jobs and contracts with stable incomes to devote our time and focus to this, but we had to have the discipline of actually getting on the phone and making sales, making marketing funnels and everything else that goes along with it. We had to make sure along the way that we were actually giving people what they needed and that wasn't so hard because we knew how to do it... we just had to make sure that they were happy. Rachel: My biggest challenges are around awareness, thinking and my camera fears. My fears around being on camera were probably the biggest ones, about feeling that I wasn't good enough or that no one was going to listen. Or that I didn't have anything worthy to say. I was able to overcome these by creating something that was bigger than myself, being able to think about how it was going to help other people. I always do that when I’m feeling the fear of being on camera... I immediately think, "How will this help other people?"

Working on our mindset for us is a constant, and something we do every day. And that includes awareness, because if you aren't aware of what is stopping you then you can't change it. Growing your awareness, your goals and what you want for yourself is so important. We are working on our mindset daily with journals and evaluating what our goals are every day and every six months with our team. We are stretching ourselves all the time! Michael: I agree. Goals and mindset are so important! Also, managing your weaknesses and focusing on your strengths is a really important part of success. For us it is really important to have defined roles in our business and stick to them. We know what I am good at, what Rachel is good at and what is going to be the most effective way to run our business and achieve our goals.

'WORKING ON OUR MINDSET FOR US IS A CONSTANT, AND SOMETHING WE DO EVERY DAY.'

meet rachel dunn & michael hole - Girl Director: Game-changers, Revolutionaries, Visual Storytellers & Viral Video Creators How do you keep motivated and stay badass through difficult times? Michael: For me, when I am really clear on what I am creating I stay motivated. When I lose track of what I am creating and what I am becoming I find it hard to stay motivated. So, to stay on track I will stick to my mindset work, keep focused on my desired self-image. I’ll do some journaling, write down my goals, refine them and read them constantly. Using vision boards is also really good to see where you want to go, but be careful not to overwhelm yourself. Something else that I do on a daily basis is to write down all of the tasks that I want to complete that day. And I will admit that I don't always get it all done but it spills over onto the next day. This keeps me on track and gives me a sense of achievement. I make sure I focus on the activities that are going to help me achieve my major goals. Rachel: These days, when we reach difficult times we actually have a very important person by the name of Sophia. She is our PA and a very important part of Girl Director because she is always smiling and has a great attitude. It is also important to be professional because sometimes we have different issues come up but it is important to value the people around you because you are in a team and it makes everything a lot easier when you have these people around you.

'... THIS ALWAYS REMINDS ME TO FOCUS ON WHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED AND HOW LUCKY WE ARE. IT REMINDS ME THAT WE ARE DOING SOMETHING SPECIAL. Michael: Something else I would like to mention is gratitude... Rachel will often ask me first thing in the morning, "What are you grateful for today?" This always reminds me to focus on what we have achieved and how lucky we are. It reminds me that we are doing something special. And in the times what we are acting a bit too serious or our energy is low we simply say, "YAY!" This is something that Sophia, our PA (and general over achiever), started on our first national tour and has continued ever since. As soon as one person says it, we all follow. It really helps to bring you out of your head and back to where you are and what you are doing!

meet rachel dunn & michael hole - Girl Director: Game-changers, Revolutionaries, Visual Storytellers & Viral Video Creators

What is the best advice you have received recently? Michael: "Stop doing all of the trivial things, start outsourcing more and building your team. Stop being a control freak!" And Sophia has been a fundamental part of implementing this - the more and more I allow her to do the more space I have, even when it is tasks that I really want to take control over. And to be honest, she is much more efficient than I am. Everything gets done and it creates a lot more accountability for the business.

Rachel: A reminder about love and the importance of it, because I can get so caught up in the vision and goals in my head. But when you come back down to what is important – giving back and making other people feel good – it has a ripple effect for what other people feel, and so on. When you send love to things and send love to someone, it is a completely different energy to shame or stress. To really find how you can step into love in every aspect of your business and your life is a really good thing to try and do.

'... WHEN YOU COME BACK DOWN TO WHAT IS IMPORTANT – GIVING BACK AND MAKING OTHER PEOPLE FEEL GOOD – IT HAS A RIPPLE EFFECT...'

meet rachel dunn & michael hole - Girl Director: Game-changers, Revolutionaries, Visual Storytellers & Viral Video Creators What one piece of badass advice would you give to other entrepreneurs? Michael: Create more content and be really consistent. Make more videos. Get out there and get known. Working to create one video every now and then is not going to cut it. You need to be seen. You need to think about getting content out all the time on video, in all its different formats and across the different platforms. You need to make sure people know you, know what you stand for and don't forget you. Be consistent and even if there is no one that shows up at first just keep being consistent! Rachel: Choose what instrument you want to use to be more visible. Video is really important but if that's not you and you can't stand it then that will come through on your videos.

So, get help with that, or you can start doing podcasts, magazines or any of the other many platforms available. But don't get caught up in every single one because it can be overwhelming. Make sure you enjoy it because as an entrepreneur you are creative and that is going to show through in the work that you produce. I recommend people choose two platforms, master them, be consistent and even if there is no one that shows up at first, just keep being consistent. Your people will come.

'YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE KNOW YOU, KNOW WHAT YOU STAND FOR AND DON'T FORGET YOU.'

meet rachel dunn & michael hole - Girl Director: Game-changers, Revolutionaries, Visual Storytellers & Viral Video Creators

'... TO STAY ON TRACK I WILL STICK TO MY MINDSET WORK, KEEP FOCUSED ON MY DESIRED SELF-IMAGE.' What is a good article or book you have read recently? How has this book or article inspired, changed or impacted you? Rachel: I am just starting to read 'The 22 Steps of Storytelling' by John Truby.

Being able to share your story is fundamental and there are actually 33 senses in stories. We have now developed so much as human beings that we no longer have five senses but are multi-dimensional. I am really excited about that and learning how to tap into all of them to tell your story and use it in life and marketing. Michael: I love 'You²' by Price Pritchett This book is excellent. It is little and powerful. It is all about leveraging your business and quantum leaping. It takes an hour to read but can be read often to really cement the ideas of making quantum leaps.

meet rachel dunn & michael hole - Girl Director: Game-changers, Revolutionaries, Visual Storytellers & Viral Video Creators What does 2019 look like for you? What amazing badassery do you have in the pipeline? Michael: HUGE! Even bigger than this year! Hopefully we can squeeze in three big Australia tours next year! We’re also in the process of having our website and training platform redesigned, so we’re going to have more online training and other offerings coming out next year. All around video, video marketing and growing your business. Rachel: Even more travelling!! Going to Africa and India to finish the documentary 'Through Elephant Eyes.' Heading to the US with our workshops. We are also planning a big three day event about disruptive video. We are also planning to go to the rest of Australia with our workshops... we can't wait to see Darwin and Alice Springs!

Our final words... Michael: Have fun with it. Being an online entrepreneur, making videos and creating marketing is really fun. If you don't find it fun then it’s best you go get a job. Rachel: Being an entrepreneur is not always for everyone... Follow your heart. Michael: And keep an eye on your numbers...

the Happiness Revolution & how it spells Big Money for Companies and the Coaches Who Serve Them by: kristina elphistone mills Let’s face it. When we peel back the layers, what most people want in their lives is to be happy. It stands to reason then that the companies that make it their mission spread that happiness enjoy greater customer loyalty and often build a cult-like following. The online shoe store, Zappos, is a great example of that. Their focus isn’t on selling shoes but selling happiness and according to an article in Forbes.com, their ‘selling of happiness’ focus delivered Zappos Founder, Tony Hseih, a $1.2 billion pay check when he sold the company to Amazon in 2009. What makes Zappos so special? One look at Zappos’ core values on their website at www.zappos.com and it’s easy to see what makes them different. Here’s an excerpt: “As we grow as a company, it has become more and more important to explicitly define the core values from which we develop our culture, our brand, and our business strategies.

the Happiness Revolution & how it spells Big Money for Companies and the Coaches Who Serve Them These are the ten core values that we live by: 1. Deliver WOW Through Service 2. Embrace and Drive Change 3. Create Fun and A Little Weirdness 4. Be Adventurous, Creative, and Open-Minded 5. Pursue Growth and Learning 6. Build Open and Honest Relationships With Communication 7. Build a Positive Team and Family Spirit 8. Do More With Less 9. Be Passionate and Determined 10. Be Humble” When you drill down further into point #3… Create Fun And A Little Weirdness. “We want the company to have a unique and memorable personality…One of the side effects of encouraging weirdness is that it encourages people to think outside the box and be more innovative.” Zappos’ culture statement is reflected in everything they do. In fact, their focus on delivering happiness was such a hit with their customers that Zappos founder, Tony Hseih, wrote a best-selling book which has become a must-have item in corporate libraries. When the book launched it was so popular, at book signings, customers lined up out the door at book stores, waiting for hours to get a personally signed copy from Hseih. To inject fun into the ‘waiting experience’, Hsei arranged it so that the people waiting in line were given name tags and asked to write one weird thing that makes them happy. It turned out to be a great icebreaker that encouraged people to mingle. This activity was a great example of them ‘living’ their value of ‘looking to create a little fun and weirdness in everything we do’. A company’s ability to deliver fun and happiness hinges on creating the right culture and having a passionate team of people who are inspired by that culture.

'A COMPANY’S ABILITY TO DELIVER FUN AND HAPPINESS HINGES ON CREATING THE RIGHT CULTURE...'

The EQ Productivity Boost It’s no secret that one key to greater profits is ensuring team members are happy, focused and productive. Many high performing companies are recognising that a key to that is teaching their team mindfulness practices. They are realising that it not only makes everyone feel good, it also has a positive impact on the bottom line through increased productivity and customer retention. Google has taken this to a new level by developing their ‘Search Inside Yourself’ program which has since morphed into a best-selling book. It all started when a group of Google’s engineers decided to work on a project that became known as ‘Search Inside Yourself’, which is a mindfulness-based Emotional Intelligence program that they developed in conjunction with Daniel Goelman, author of the book, ‘Emotional Intelligence’. ‘Search Inside Yourself’ has now been operating at Google HQ since 2007. It teaches people a practical real world form of meditation which enhances their emotional intelligence. It trains a person’s attention, increases their self-knowledge and self-mastery, and helps them develop strong mental habits. Mindfulness plays a key role in the process. It involves keeping your awareness and attention focused on the present moment and what’s occurring with your own thoughts, your body, and in your environment at any given moment. As people do that, they acknowledge any feelings or thoughts that come up, without judgement. The process of non-judgement and awareness injects more kindness, harmony, and peace into a person’s life. It also helps break self-sabotage patterns, reduces stress and increases intuition.

'... AWARENESS AND ATTENTION FOCUSED ON THE PRESENT MOMENT AND WHAT’S OCCURRING WITH YOUR OWN THOUGHTS, YOUR BODY, AND IN YOUR ENVIRONMENT...'

6 Steps to Profit from Happiness 1. Re-evaluate your mission, your vision, your purpose and your values. Getting clear on your vision, why you love what you do, and how you can make an even bigger difference in the lives of your customers, is the starting point in creating an inspirational culture and an iconic brand. The more inspiring it is, and the more it is reflected in everything you do, the more ‘heart’ you inject into your business. The more heart you inject into your business, the greater your customer loyalty and referrals will be. 2. Create a smile at each touch point. Touch points are the points where consumers interact with your brand throughout the customer journey. Identify ways you can create a ‘smile’ at every touch point. Take a leaf out of Zappos’ book and get really creative. Amp it up. The more memorable you can make the experience, the more of an effect it will have on customer loyalty.

'... NONJUDGEMENT AND AWARENESS INJECTS MORE KINDNESS, HARMONY, AND PEACE INTO A PERSON’S LIFE. IT ALSO HELPS BREAK SELFSABOTAGE PATTERNS, REDUCES STRESS AND INCREASES INTUITION.'

the Happiness Revolution & how it spells Big Money for Companies and the Coaches Who Serve Them

3. Create open lines of communications. Customers have questions. They also want to be acknowledged so be as accessible as possible via social media, via instant chat facilities on your website and by responding to requests rapidly. 4. Actively engage and inspire your customers on social media. Two of the keys to maximising engagement on social media are frequency of posting and also featuring posts that enrol followers in your conversation. People love to be acknowledged and heard. The more you can do that on social media, the more engaged your followers will be. Focus on 10 hourly posts. Mix it up with inspirational messages or photos, conversation starter questions, promotional messages, and articles. 5. Give back. If you currently support a cause or a charity, great. If you don’t, consider doing that. Apart from the obvious impact of making a difference, it’s a great way to show your team and your customers that they’re playing a role in helping the community.

the Happiness Revolution & how it spells Big Money for Companies and the Coaches Who Serve Them 6. Invest in the emotional intelligence of your people. Start with profiling your people using psychometric profiling solutions like DISC or others. One of the biggest reasons for poor morale in an organisation is a poor fit between personality type and job role. Next – look at programs to help develop your people emotionally, physically and mentally like Google’s ‘Search Inside Yourself’ program which has been published as a book.

the POWER of POLARISATION

by: marc mawhiney There’s a place in the online world called the “Mushy Middle”, where a lot of entrepreneurs love to hang out. At first glance it looks like a great place, since nothing is put there that could offend anyone. Content is created with extra care to ensure nobody’s feelings get hurt. Look around and you’ll see motivational quotes, inspirational memes, and fluffy platitudes – the online equivalent of a world that’s all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows. But it’s not where you want to be, since a refusal to polarise dilutes your message and can kill your business!

'POLARISATION IS A POWERFUL TOOL FOR ENTREPRENEURS , AND IT’S NECESSARY TO BE SUCCESSFUL.'

the POWER of POLARISATION Polarisation is a powerful tool for entrepreneurs, and it’s necessary to be successful. It drives away those who don’t resonate with you (and who would never have become clients or customers of yours), while pulling your raving fans closer to you. If you are attacked by some, those fans will rush to your defence and your message will be heard by a lot more people. It’s also an efficient way to sift through potential clients and customers, since prospects will disqualify themselves and move away from you while others will stay and eagerly pay for your products and services. Look at any successful person and you’ll see polarisation at work. Take Donald Trump for example. Whether you love him or hate him, he used this principle to win the White House. If you ask someone what they think of Trump, you’ll elicit a strong positive or negative reaction. People either think he’s “Making America Great Again” and is the saviour that the country needs right now, or he’s the devil incarnate and the worst thing to ever happen to the USA. You won’t find many sitting on the fence and waiting to see more of him before taking a stance, and that’s why he’s sitting in the White House.

'POLARISATION... DRIVES AWAY THOSE WHO DON’T RESONATE WITH YOU (AND WHO WOULD NEVER HAVE BECOME CLIENTS OR CUSTOMERS OF YOURS), WHILE PULLING YOUR RAVING FANS CLOSER TO YOU.'

His skill at polarisation brought him many detractors, including a hostile media that was fixated on him and gave him about $5 billion in free publicity during the 2016 campaign (allowing him to spend less than he otherwise would have had to). At first glance it seems like a bad strategy to drive away potential customers, but there are over 7 billion people in the world, and you couldn’t drive away all of them even if you worked on that goal 24/7. When you start unapologetically putting your message out into the world, you’ll find that there are a lot of people who resonate with what you’re saying. Remember that you don’t need that many fans to have a successful

the POWER of POLARISATION

business. In his popular blog post, “1000 True Fans”, Kevin Kelly wrote that you only need 1000 loyal fans to have a successful business, regardless of the industry that you’re in. If you pick up a new fan every day, you can hit that target in less than three years! It’s not easy to polarise. It’s human nature to want to be liked by others and bristle at criticism. When I first started my online business, I tried to be the nice guy, to keep everyone happy and not offend anyone. It takes a lot of energy to do that, and I was getting worn down re-reading social media posts and labouring over every word I wrote or recorded to ensure I wasn’t triggering anyone. After enough time of wading around the Mushy Middle, I realized that not offending others is an impossible goal (especially given the amount of crazy people who have access to the Internet in 2018), and I decided to take the filter off and just speak my mind. If people didn’t like it, that wasn’t the end of the world and I would no longer worry over the opinions of sensitive people. It was an interesting transition.

'... IT BECAME AN EASY DECISION Once I embraced polarisation, the critics, haters and trolls crawled out ofTO the woodwork to FOR HIM STOP attack me online. But more people messaged me to let me know how my message was THE PRODUCTION helping them. THE VIDEO I also felt better because I wasn’t wearing a mask when I wasOF releasing my content. The first few times I received nasty comments or messages about something I wrote was a little VERSION OF THE difficult, but the longer I went with this approach the thicker my skin got. PODCAST.' '... FELT BETTER BECAUSE I WASN’T WEARING A MASK WHEN I WAS RELEASING MY CONTENT.'

the POWER of POLARISATION

If you decide to start polarizing and haven’t done it before, be prepared for some strange feelings. Also, be prepared to be contacted by people giving their unsolicited advice and encouraging you to go back to your previous, safe and unoffending ways. When that happens, ask yourself if the person if paying any of your bills. If not, brush it aside and keep doing your thing. I believe the ability to polarize will become even more important in the coming years as the amount of noise online increases. People will have a lot of competition for their attention, so you’ll have to good at grabbing it.

Remember that there are people out there desperate for your help, so screw The Mushy Middle – get out there and start polarizing today!

poverty IS an epidemic by: malaine lea Less than 3 year ago I was fired from my job and could barely afford a coffee at starbucks. I found myself back at square one staring the fear of poverty and homelessness in the face. How could this be? I was an straight A student, went to college, did all the things an “good kid” should and now at 30 I was thinking….maybe I should just move home with my parents? Poverty is an epidemic. Being broke is an epidemic. There are more 30 year olds living with their parents and a weight of debt now in America than ever before. While America is one of the wealthiest countries in the world the average salary is about 50k a year. That surely is not freedom. We are unwell. Financial freedom is the solution. If we are not financial free we are unwell. Prioritising financial freedom should be just as important as curing cancer. Without financial freedom we cannot live a life. Live yes but truly live a life, no.

poverty IS an epidemic

I’m not saying it’s a need to fly first class and travel the world 20 times a year to be fulfilled. I’m not saying it’s a need to vacation in the Maldives to be fulfilled. What I am saying is that financial freedom gives the opportunity for the world to not just be concerned about themselves. When we aren’t financial free the only people getting taken care of is us and that is a selfish world. I did end up moving home with my mother for 2 months while I saved and planned out my business. I was determined to be a success! In six months I was hitting multi-six figures so those two months totally paid off. My decision to be financial free, just that decision alone changed my life. Now is a time more than ever for the conscious leaders to rise, for men and women of all races to link arms and pursue financial freedom. A poor man/woman cannot change the world. A wealthy man/woman can. It’s just the facts.

'PRIORITISING FINANCIAL FREEDOM SHOULD BE JUST AS IMPORTANT AS CURING CANCER.'

poverty IS an epidemic

Here are steps into claiming financial freedom and getting healthy again…. 1. Make a decision right now that financial freedom will happen.

2. Get clear on number goals and super specific, how much by when.

Making the decision changes your mindset and mindset changes reality.

I hear a lot of people say 10k a month but the idea is what number after taxes and after saving 30 percent, that gives you financial freedom.

We are comprised of 5 different bodies emotional, physical, spiritual, mental, and energetic this step will help to align your mental and energetic bodies. When taking actions only in the physical world you limit yourself to only 20 percent of what is possible. Meditation, prayer are great examples of tapping into the other 4 bodies to support financial freedom.

'MAKE A DECISION RIGHT NOW THAT FINANCIAL FREEDOM WILL HAPPEN.'

I love writing my numbers out on an excel spreadsheet so I can track and focus on exactly what comes in and what goes out. This focus on money supports it growth too! 3. Visualize every single day. Everyone from Jesse Itzler to Jim Carrey to Oprah does it and achieves massive success

poverty povertyISISan anepidemic epidemic

and financial freedom from the simple tool of visualisation. For example if you wanted to create a waterfront home then go sit by the water and visualize seeing your home there. 4. Embody the identity of someone who has financial freedom. When the embodiment occurs through actions, thoughts and ways of being the financial freedom occurs much faster. Act as if you already are that person and take the actions in alignment of the person you desire to be as though that person is you today. 5. Immerse in the environment of people who are financially free. Hire mentor, coaches, be amongst tribes that are already living the financial free lifestyle. As a wealth mindset coach I support hundreds of women transforming their relationship with money and abundance to reclaim their lives and gain financial freedom. It was not always this way for me. I once lived a non-financial free life where I was a slave to the system and could barely afford to even pay for a $2.00 metro card. I made a decision in 2015 and within less than 3 years my company has generated over a million dollars.

Financial freedom is a choice. Staying broke is a choice. The choice is always ours and ours alone. Malaine Lea is a Lifestyle Architect & Wealth/Luxury Mindset Coach. toxic femininity: the Dark Side of Misogyny by: michelle catanach The last year has certainly been one to shine light on the collective shadow. From #metoo to #timesup and now Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the supreme court, it’s fair to say that demons are being exposed, toxic conditioning confronted and a mass awakening is occurring. And with everything that is happening women are collectively feeling it on such a deep, womb-raging level. More women are stepping up and giving voice to their experience, unwilling to tolerate the systemic abuse, violence and injustice still prevalent in this world. More women are using their fury to effect cultural change for the benefit of ALL women, not only themselves. More women are rising, challenging the status quo and making the world a better and safer place for our children. More women, frankly, have had e-fucking-nough and want to put a stop to this brutal, entitled twattery. But #NotAllWomen.

toxic femininity: the Dark Side of Misogyny

We’ve seen them. The women cheering when Kavanaugh was confirmed. The women supporting racistmisogynist-LBGTQ-phobic Trump. The women who brand other women liars for finally having the courage to speak up. The women who body-shame other women. The women who slut-shame other women. The women who victimblame, because it’s ALWAYS a woman’s fault. The women who view other women through a misogynistic lens. Because we ALL carry internalised misogyny and THIS is where the real work needs to be done. Now I’m not letting men off the hook. Perpetrators MUST be held accountable for their actions. They are 100% responsible. AND we need more good men to step up, confront their own internalised misogyny and how they’ve been complicit in their actions (and inaction) and call toxic behaviour out, instead of putting it down to ‘men being men’ as if behaviour has a gender bias. (Note: it doesn’t. In the same way that ALL emotions are human emotions, ALL behaviour is human behaviour, however inhumane the reality is. Emotions and behaviour do not have a gender bias; social conditioning does. And guys...you can talk about women without objectifying them, y’know).

toxic femininity: the Dark Side of Misogyny

In this age of female empowerment the reality is this: I can raise my daughter with a voice, with all the tools to physically defend herself, with all the tools to support her emotional health, but none of these will make her immune to attack. And the more she rises, the more that she can dance in the storm and stand up for justice, the more she will be vilified, judged, silenced...by other women. Because we ALL need to confront and heal the toxic feminine within us. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had some of the shittiest experiences with men. Yet all the name-calling, abuse, shaming, rejection and betrayal was from women. Women have had a long history of not being able to fight men so have turned on each other, because we’ve learnt to need men for our validation, to give us a sense of purpose in this world, and somehow women hold up a mirror for our own lack of worth. We have ALL been taught to reject the feminine, to shame the feminine, to deny and abuse the feminine. And the harsh truth is this: the men who think it’s okay to abuse, assault and objectify women are OUR sons, brothers, fathers, partners and WE need to be radically honest about how we have enabled this culture.

'WE HAVE ALL BEEN TAUGHT TO REJECT THE FEMININE, TO SHAME THE FEMININE, TO DENY AND ABUSE THE FEMININE.'

toxic poverty femininity: IS an epidemic the Dark Side of Misogyny

If we really want to make #metoo a thing of the past, it starts with parenting. Childhood experience sets the tone for EVERYTHING 1. Grab your journal and start exploring these questions. Be honest about your attitude towards women and sexuality. What are the first thoughts that enter your head when you see a scantily clad woman? How do you label women who are promiscuous? Compare this to how you perceive scantily clad or promiscuous men. What shame do YOU carry around your body and sexuality? When you judge or criticise other women, what insecurity within you is being triggered? How is the lens that you view your daughter through different to that through which you view your son? What are the things you are saying within earshot of your children around weight, dieting and the body? What things are you saying to yourself that are unconsciously being projected onto your children? How do you react when men - friends, partners - objectify women in the name of ‘banter’?

'... THE HARSH TRUTH IS THIS: THE MEN WHO THINK IT’S OKAY TO ABUSE, ASSAULT AND OBJECTIFY WOMEN ARE OUR SONS, BROTHERS, FATHERS, PARTNERS AND WE NEED TO BE RADICALLY HONEST ABOUT HOW WE HAVE ENABLED THIS CULTURE.'

toxic poverty femininity: IS an epidemic the Dark Side of Misogyny

'... WE’VE LEARNT TO NEED MEN FOR OUR VALIDATION, TO GIVE US A SENSE OF PURPOSE IN THIS WORLD, AND SOMEHOW WOMEN HOLD UP A MIRROR FOR OUR OWN LACK OF WORTH.'

2. Explore your own unconscious beliefs about gender. What does “being a man” mean to you? Where did that idea come from? Is it even true? In what ways are you imposing your beliefs onto your children? If you have girls and boys, in what ways are you treating them differently? How do your expectations differ? If your son is expressing “feminine” behaviour, what is it about it that bothers you? And are you able to see that this is another way of rejecting the feminine?

How permissive are you of your son’s behaviour because “boys will be boys”? And how dismissive are you of his emotions? How often do you stop your daughter’s boisterous or ‘boyish’ behaviour because you deem it unladylike? What are your behavioural expectations of boys vs girls? Do you claim to be a feminist yet hold prejudice against trans women or WOC? 3. Talk to your children about sex as soon as they start asking the questions. Raise them with a healthy attitude towards sex and sexuality. Many of us as girls received the message that sex is dirty and shameful, and for the gratification of men only. Teach your girls about pleasure, that it’s okay to experience pleasure, that pleasure is a birthright. Teach your sons that women aren’t objects for their gratification, that sex is meant to be a pleasurable and enjoyable experience for both. Let them know that self-pleasure is natural and normal. Talk about periods as being the most natural part of being a woman, not something to feel ashamed or embarrassed about

toxic poverty femininity: IS an epidemic the Dark Side of Misogyny

'IF YOUR SON IS EXPRESSING “FEMININE” BEHAVIOUR, WHAT IS IT ABOUT IT THAT BOTHERS YOU?' (because period shame IS woman shame). Notice the sensations and discomfort in your own body when discussing sex, sexuality and menstruation with your children; that’s your shame speaking and where YOU have work to do. 4. Teach consent from day dot. No means no. And ONLY a resounding YES is agreement. While we can’t expect children to understand right away, it’s imperative that we lay the foundation as early as possible. Ensure that your interactions with your child are respectful and consensual. Don’t force sharing (it breeds entitlement). Allow your children full autonomy over their body and to choose whether or not they wish to kiss or hug others. Let them know that harming others through words or actions is never acceptable (and ensure that we are modelling this in our response to our children). Teach them to read the body language and energy of others, to pick up the cues of nonconsent that speak when words cannot. If we are to move away from an over-entitled, non-consensual culture it starts with our children, particularly our boys, and WE have a responsibility to educate them. WE have a responsibility to unravel the cultural conditioning and create a whole new paradigm that respects boys and girls as equal autonomous beings.

toxic poverty femininity: IS an epidemic the Dark Side of Misogyny

5. Raise your children to treat others with respect because they are human NOT because they are older or in a position of authority. Too many people have abused their power for far too long. When children speak, listen. Recognise that adults have had a lifetime of learning to manipulate and lie. And model respect towards your children. If we behave disrespectfully towards them, if we continue the toxic, dysfunctional and abusive relationship dynamic that uses threats, coercion and punishment as a means to control and get what we want, our children will learn the same and the cycle will continue.

Culture has dictated how we should think, feel and behave. And NONE of it is true. WE get to create a whole new culture. It starts with us.
