November 2014

Welcome to the 6th anniversary issue of B Magazine! For many people B Magazine is the printed/digital words they read, a neat little site with a Facebook page, an email address to send things to, a monthly collection of voices and words. And that’s great - that’s what we strive for, the successful presentation of all the hard work, of a streamlined creative process that produces results. Reflecting on the last 6 years, we’ve sat down to do a headcount of our many publications: 73 B Magazines have been published to date. We’ve met and spoken to so many new and interesting people, we’ve explored a lot of themes and different mediums of expression, thanks to our awesome contributors, supporters and team. We’ve even got to stretch our legs at real events more recently such as “Walk for Life”. So what next? New shifts and changes are occurring for us, new goals and ideas and maybe better ways to work, for our writers and contributors. We’re taking into account the suggestions we’ve received from our readers and people we’ve worked with - regarding themes, ideas, layout, etc. B Magazine itself has grown much bigger, compared to the little idea we had pre launch November 2008. All we know is that 6 years later our lives still revolves around B Magazine, the articles, advertisers, photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists, models, the fashion and the issues we cover. We are particularly happy that many of our contributors have become our friends. The same applies to our supporters. These days’ creative collaborators adorn our covers and our pages, so a big thank you especially this year to Christopher Borge, Joanna Kustra, Aleksandra Koza, Debbie Goodman and Natalie Blyth for always being there for the magazine, not forgetting our most recent contributors Aimee Balestrino, Sean Vincent Acris and Maxine Sene thank you all for your time. To our 6,100 plus Facebook fans, thank you for your support and last but definitively not least to all our advertisers for the past six years, thank you for placing your trust in B Magazine to promote your business. As we build the magazine it would be fantastic to hear any feedback about what you like, what you want more of, how you feel we can continue to grow, and any general feedback about the issues. Our arms, ears and eyes are open; we’d love to hear what you have to say. Send us an e-mail to bmag@gibtelecom. net or join our Facebook group and leave your comments at www.facebook.com/groups/Gib.BMag/. Plus, once you join our group you can read the magazine online, just in case you weren’t fast enough to pick up a copy.

On a final note we would like to remind our readers that Christmas is right around the corner, so if you haven’t yet booked your Christmas lunch/dinner, what are you waiting for? Both MAMMA MIA (200 64444) and PAPARAZZI (200 69966) are now taking Christmas bookings. With a ‘no fixed menu’ you can order from our very extensive menu, so you can eat and spend as much or as little as you like at your Xmas party, without having to be committed to spending between £30 and £50 per head for a reduced menu. Both restaurant menus can be found within the magazine. Until then, thanks for sticking around for another year and we hope you enjoy B Magazine’s 6th anniversary issue. See you in December! B&B

Jelly Babies TO OPEN A SECOND NURSERY in the South to cater for the many young families that live there.

Early this year JELLY BABIES Nursery opened its doors at West Place of Arms, Corral Road… it’s aim was to provide a safe, bright, clean and friendly environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years, where your child could grow as an individual in a comfortable setting with experienced staff. Managed by Lizanne Lewis, a popular person linked with nurseries for many years, it is fast becoming one of the favourite nurseries in Gibraltar. Jelly Babies, unlike many of the nurseries in Gibraltar, was designed and built as a nursery. This means that it was built to a specific high standard where the safety of children was uppermost in the design brief with specific rooms built to cater for the different age groups. At JELLY BABIES 1 there are various rooms: The Caterpillar Room, The Dragonfly Room and The Bumblebee Room. This last room also caters for after school children and children on summer holidays and midterm. The nursery is also equipped with a supervised technology room, which caters for the older children during these school breaks. Nine months down the line, this nursery has met its own very high aims and standards. AND NOW… as from the new term starting January 2015, JELLY BABIES 2 is opening its doors at Rodger’s Road to cater for the many young families who live in the South District. Please check our Facebook page to learn about the days and times when the nursery will be open so that parents can meet our staff and see the nursery first hand. You will note that this one has also been designed and build specifically as a nursery and follows the same philosophy in all aspects both physically and in its curriculum and activities. One added bonus for parents who have their children in St. Joseph’s nursery in either of the sessions, is that Jelly Babies staff will collect or drop off your child at St. Joseph’s school nursery FREE OF CHARGE as part of the facilities that the nursery offers. They also have the normal collection/drop-off service if you so require but this is obviously not a free service. Opening Hours Both Jelly Babies Nurseries opening hours are 8am till 5pm. The day is split into two sessions, opening hour - 12pm and 1pm-5pm. They are open every weekday all year round excluding bank holidays and a week at Christmas. Arrangements can be made to cater for parents who wish to collect their children after the official closing time.

BMAG 28

JELLY BABIES 1 & 2 will cater for babies up until they are walking and steady on their feet. The babies follow their own home routine as closely as possible in respect of feeding and sleep times. There is a soft play and sensory area along with a separate sleeping and rest area. The nurseries have a variety of activities for the children; they use colours, shapes, numbers and the alphabet to help with the children’s learning and development. The children are welcomed into an enthusiastic, positive and caring environment. The nurseries cater for children the year before they start Government preschool and also have their own pre-school group where children are fully prepared for going into the school system. The main emphasis is on learning through play. Each day in the Bumblebee Room the children are able do an educational activity including early writing, reading and mathematical awareness. The children are encouraged to take part in a creative activity and have access to a planned activity to develop their understanding of the world around them. Although there is no outside play area at Jelly Babies, we regularly take the children on walks to explore the surrounding area. During the nursery morning we also have exercise time including dancing, group games and ball games. WHETHER YOU LIVE IN OR AROUND THE TOWN AREA OR THE SOUTH DISTRICT, OR EVEN THE CATALAN BAY AREA, JELLY BABIES IS YOUR NURSERY IN GIBRALTAR. Why not visit our premises at Unit 5 9/11 West Place of Arms Corral Road and see for yourself what makes us the best nursery in Gibraltar. Watch this space and our Facebook page to arrange to view JELLY BABIES 2 before it opens its doors. For further information call us on 200 62378 or call Lizanne on 54017670.

How did you have three babies? Was it planned (IVF) or natural?

“I did not have IVF, and it was shocking to say the least when I was told that I was expecting triplets. It wasn’t a bad kind of shock, as I immediately thought of it as a blessing, its when the doctor tells you of the risks of carrying three babies and how I could end up with no babies at all. I was told how my uterus might not be strong enough to carry them because I had already had a previous c-section with my eldest, Evan. It was at a private clinic in Spain that I was told I was carrying triplets and time after time I was advised to have a reduction, to which I insisted my babies would stay right there. If something had to happen it would be up to nature, but honestly I was pretty positive from day one that my babies would be just fine.”

What was your husband’s and your reaction when you found out you were have 3 babies? How did you tell your family and friends?

“My husband didn’t find out straight away as he was working when my mum took me for my first scan. I was only six weeks pregnant and was experiencing a lot of pain and spotting and we automatically assumed the worse, so we didn’t waste anytime. Little did we know, that not only I wasn’t miscarrying but that I was instead extremely pregnant!! I remember the doctor’s face when she started the ultrasound, there was a very concerning look on her face that got my mum and myself very worried. We kept asking if everything was ok and after a few minutes of awkward silence she broke the news. Telling my husband was actually quite funny… the night before my scan my family was joking about telling Peter that I might be expecting twins, as it does run in my family, a joke that he didn’t find very amusing at the time. So, I called him up and told him he was right, I wasn’t expecting twins after all, that we were in fact expecting triplets. I was still in shock myself so I broke out laughing after saying this, which made him think it was a joke. It took 10 minutes and a conversation with my mum for him to realise it was no joke. After phoning close family and friends to share the news I then shared a Facebook status that left everyone wondering what I was on about for the rest of the day, it read “Three, is magic number” it lead a few to believe I was expecting twins and Evan was the number one.”

She went from expecting a baby to expecting triplets! Katrine was very much surprised as her husband was when the doctor gave them the news. From her joys and challenges she faces every day, to her pains and aches during pregnancy and not knowing if her little miracles would survive, Katrine talks to B Mag about her life and living with triplets in this special issue of the magazine. “My life may be hectic and even crazy at times, but it’s also full of smiles, laughter and a lot of love. So far it has been an amazing journey and as the triplets get older, the more fun it’s becoming. I am in love with my beautiful family and like the fact that we are different.” It’s not every day you see women giving birth to triplets. That makes you a very special woman. What do you think is the biggest joy and biggest challenge of birthing three children at once?

“Carrying the triplets was hard from day one, I felt super lethargic, I couldn’t keep any food or drink in, which ended in numerous trips to hospital and me having to be admitted a few times due to dehydration. Apart from that as the pregnancy progressed and as my belly grew I also got terrible backaches and my feet and legs would go numb from the weight. Before I became pregnant I weighed 52kgs and by the time I gave birth I was 85kgs. I also had Braxton hicks very early, and by the time I was 24 weeks pregnant I was flown to London, where I was monitored constantly until the babies were born at 31 weeks and then strong enough to return home. The size of my belly and the weight I was carrying though didn’t stop me from keeping active though as everyday I would walk 1½ miles from Brockley to Lewisham only to get a light lunch and return by taxi and then nap for about two hours every single day.”

Tell us about your pregnancy and birth of the triplets. How did it all go?

“The babies were born via caesarean section at 31 weeks gestation after I went into spontaneous labour, my husband was over that weekend and was lucky to witness the whole thing. A very generous lady offered to pay for my husbands and sons flights. I’m glad he was there too since he is my rock, and I don’t think I could have done it without him. The experience of seeing them come out one by one was amazing but also very scary as nobody could guarantee all three would make it. I barely got a glimpse of them as each one of them was wheeled away immediately in there incubator’s. After the operation I was put in the recovery room, and that was when the consultant came to see us. My whole world crumbled as he explained how poorly little Bradley was and how he might not make BMAG 34

it through the night. All I wanted to do was to see my babies, to hold them, comfort them and tell them everything would be ok. Unfortunately I was not allowed to see them till the next day. It was heart breaking, especially since I was surrounded by babies in the maternity ward. I didn’t meet my beautiful boys until morning when my husband wheeled me up. Seeing them all with tubes wires and connected to all sorts of machines, including one that breathed for them, which was very overwhelming. I kept telling myself that this was the best place for them and how they were in the best hands possible, and they were. The staff at Kings College NICU were fantastic, and I will be eternally grateful to all of them for saving my babies lives. The boys remained in hospital for the next three weeks and progressed incredibly well, and by the time they were 33 weeks gestation, all three were drinking out of bottles beautifully. Did I mention they are the biggest triplets, ever to be born at Kings College Hospital? Cole was the tiniest at 3lbs 10oz followed my Alistair who weighed 3lbs 14oz and Bradley who weighed a whopping 4lbs and 1oz.”

Did you find out the sex of the babies or was it a surprise?

“I was told the gender of the babies at St Bernard’s hospital and then had it confirmed privately in Spain. When you are expecting three babies, you have to anticipate and be prepared.”

How did you come up the their names?

“The babies names, well I did have a poll going on my blog, but even that didn’t help us agree on three names until, my sister suggested going for A, B, and C names as that is what they were called in scans, once we agreed on that deciding on names was much easier, and a lot more fun.”

You have another son, how has he taken it?

“My son Evan was only three when his brothers came along… bless him, and contrary to what everyone warned me about, he was absolutely smitten by them from the day he met them. He is a very caring and kind boy and so he fell in love with them instantly.”

What would be a typical day at your house?

“A day in our house is hectic to say the least. My husband works shifts, so it’s usually just me with the boys, saying that even after a long shift he will come home and is a hands on Dad and brilliant at it too! On a weekday we start the day at 6:30am, as I have to give everyone breakfast change nappies, get Evan ready for school, some days a friend of mine will give Evan a ride in the mornings which takes a load of my shoulders to be honest, and I will return the favour by picking her daughter up after school when I go for Evan. While Evan is in school, I try and cram in as much housework as I can, and prepare lunch etc. I then pack the babies changing bags, bottles, etc and push my almost 60kgs of buggy and baby to school to get Evan, and on my way back I run any errands before returning home to feed everyone. On Mondays, Evan plays footie in the afternoon, so I get everyone ready again and we all go watch him practice. Other days we go to Commonwealth Wealth Park which all four of the boys love, especially the babies as they can roam free. The evenings are also a bit crazy at the ‘Casa Borge’, bath time, dinner and then bottles, and very rarely do all babies go down for the night at the same time.”

How long did it take you to see individual personalities appearing?

“Personalities started to show quite early on, I would say as early as four months. Alistair and Cole are much more affectionate and fussy while Bradley is very independent and likes to explore new territories, but is also a real sweetie… he’s my little wild child for sure!”

How do you mange your time? How do you balance domestic responsibilities and the children?

“I do what I can and when I can, everyone says I do a great job, I just see it as getting on with it really. When you are the parent of multiples you automatically become more organised and also learn what things take priority, especially those days when everyone is cranky and you just want to knock your head against the wall… it happens to the best of us lol. I’m a naturally positive and cheerful person though so that definitely helps, everything in life is how you look at it and I chose to be positive. I like waking up in the morning and putting my makeup on… I make it a point to get up a little earlier to make sure I have time for it. And of course I work out around my husband’s shifts. That is my time, whether going for a jog, or hiking up med steps, but it helps to keep me going. People often ask me how I find the energy, but honestly its working out that gives me the energy boost I need to survive the day, gets the blood pumping, it’s a natural stimulant.”

How much sleep do you get?

“Sleep? What is that you speak of?”

Do they wake each other up constantly?

“Bradley loves his sleep and would sleep through a storm. Alistair and Cole… well that’s another story, the hardly sleep and take it in turns to keep us up at night.” BMAG 35

Having a baby is already expensive. You have triplets and an eldest son. How much does it cost on a weekly basis? (Food, nappies, wipes, clothes, etc…)

“Ok, sit down for this one! We go through eight packs of nappies, four boxes of baby wipes, and about 8/10 tins of formula every single month. Then add biscuits, food, other snacks and clothes for four kids… you do the math. We do get special discount at Babylove and Mothercare gave us a buy two get the third one free discount on baby clothes for the first 6 months, and Piece of Cake sponsored the boys Christening and 1st birthday cakes. At the moment we don’t get any discounts on baby clothes though and that is by far the most expensive of all!”

Do you get any physical help and any financial help?

“As for financial help, apart from the family who will sometimes take the boys shopping for clothes etc, we get no other help. Physical help well my mum and sister will occasionally take the boys for a night so we can have some time for ourselves and my husband’s grandmother will do some laundry for us every week too and send everything back beautifully ironed which is of great help.”

Do people totally maul you in public?

“It takes me ages to walk down Main Street as we get stopped every few steps. People are always amazing to see triplets and since many locals followed my blog they love to stop and see how the babies are doing. Sometimes I get stopped by a multitude of tourists who want to meet the babies, like we are some sort of celebrities.”

People often say twins/triplets have an extra special bond. Has there ever been a time when you noticed an especially unique connection?

“There is definitely a special bond between them and it was clear to me while they were inside. Little Cole was so tiny when he was in NICU that when they switched him from the incubator to a cot, his tiny body couldn’t take the cold and had to be put straight back as he needed the extra heat. A few days later they tried again and still no luck, I then asked if we could put the altogether in a cot a few minutes and from then on Cole progressed very well and was out of the incubator the next day and doing brilliantly. To me this was enough proof of how strong their bond is. Saying this, I think Evan has a very special bond with his little brothers too and is very protective over them!”

How are your triplets doing today?

“The triplets are doing brilliantly, they are developing as they should be and apart from the occasional bout of bronchiolitis, which has had them admitted in hospital a few times, they are perfectly healthy and striving little boys. They are three little miracles and we have been very lucky, considering they were born so early.”

What is the most important aspect, according to you as a mum, of raising children? What qualities should a good mum possess?

“Love them with all that you are, cuddle them and hold them as much as you can, show them how loved they are. Teach them to be themselves and to treat everyone with respect and as they would want to be treated themselves. Teach them values and let them strive and become their own individuals, and whatever you do never compare them to their siblings, because we are all unique… even triplets. Simply do the best you can, and never let anyone tell you, you are doing it wrong because what works for one family might not work for another!” BMAG 36

Any last thoughts?

“Yes I would like to thank all those who have helped and supported us through this amazing journey… too many people to mention.”

Reasons to Hire a Wedding Planner KEEPS STRESS TO A MINIMUM

With a wedding planner taking care of everything, you’ll find you can just relax and let them take on the burden of planning every last detail. In the beginning, you might find yourself calling them at all hours of the day and night as you think of different things, but if you choose wisely, then fairly soon in the process, you should be able to feel comfortable that your needs and desires are in good hands. You had good reasons to hire a wedding planner, now let them do what they do best. Just breathe.

THEY KNOW PEOPLE

A good wedding planner that has been at it for a while will have a list of contacts that they can choose from for your big day. They’ll be knowledgeable about providing music, flowers, bartenders, photographers and so forth. Your wedding planner will have relationships with these vendors and be able to get you a much better price than you could have obtained for yourself.

UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES

Sometimes stuff happens when you least expect it, and when there are dozens of things going on during your big day or leading up to it, it’s entirely possible and should even be expected, that something you didn’t foresee will transpire. Your wedding planner has seen it all before and knows how to cope with unexpected crises.

BRINGS YOUR VISION TO LIFE

If you’ve always dreamed of a winter wonderland wedding, explain your vision to your wedding planner and watch it come to life. This is not their first rodeo, and they will be able to enhance your original vision in ways you could never imagine.

PREVENTS ARGUMENTS

Your wedding planner will keep you sane and therefore, you can be the loveable girl that your finance fell for and not a bridezilla. The same applies to your bridal party and immediate family. The wedding planner will run the show and you can send anyone that has any concerns directly to them. This will save your relationships.

ATTENTION TO DETAILS

The last thing you need to be doing as your wedding gets nearer, or even in the beginning stages, is worrying about little things or be having the big fear of forgetting something you’ll need. Your wedding planner loves to do this; that is their bread and butter.

YOU CAN FOCUS ON FUN!

When someone else that is capable, is responsible for every little thing about your wedding, all you have to do is show up looking beautiful. You’re only a bride once (hopefully), and you should take the time when your wedding draws close, to pamper yourself and just have fun. Do enjoyable things with your bridesmaids, decide on your hair and makeup, and just enjoy being single for a few more days! BMAG 38

To ensure one of the most wonderful days of your life goes off without a hitch, review these reasons to hire a wedding planner, and then decide if this would work for you. Do you really have the time involved to do this yourself? How much help do you think you can realistically count on from the groom, before turning into a bridezilla? If you agree there are sufficient reasons to hire a wedding planner, then the next step is securing one that is right for you.

Non-edible wedding favours have come a long way. In fact, so have edible wedding favours. It used to be that wedding favours were little piles of sugared almonds presented in a pretty fashion or maybe a matchbook printed with the couple’s names and wedding date. These were normally part of the place setting for the formal meal. These days, however, wedding favours are inventive, creative and interesting, both in content and presentation. If you are looking for ideas for non-edible wedding favours, here you go:

Hello Gentlemen! I hope you are all enjoying the new season. So far SVA has given you all a head start as to what trends are necessary for AW’14, along with some good housing keeping rules on keeping yourselves ‘perfectly groomed’.

By Sean Vincent Acris

So what’s next you ask? Well it’s about time we take some good measures into finding the correct suit for you. This November SVA would like to share with you 4 essential looks that are suitable for any scenario you might be thrown into. Make sure you are ready and have your ‘action-man wardrobe’ set to go! Take Notes…

Italiano

Leisurely, sophisticated & sexy No matter the season, be prepared to swagger and sway the Italiano way! Take it from the boys of Roma and Milano riding down town on their Vespas – It’s all about colour, mischievous prints and a stunning pair of Italian leather loafers to get this look in the bag. Needless to say Italian men aren’t shy of fashion and neither should you be. Make a two-piece suit your new staple and best friend that you can drag around town from morning to night and be the life and soul of the party.

Where to be seen:

Hopping from café to bar to nightclub

Complimentary accessory: Prada loafers

Preppy

Dignified, dandy & twee You don’t have to be an old school preppy to be one. All you need to do is work out a clever contrast of fabrics and colour to have fun with this look. It’s all about pomp and excess in order to pull it off, but please try not to over compensate by pulling everything out of your wardrobe at once and throwing it on. Co-ordinate your colours well whether keeping it bright or neutral. Add in a fun pocket square and focus on a statement blazer in contrast with trousers (waist coat *optional) to achieve the look. Heritage fabrics are key when nailing this look, so do your research.

Where to be seen:

Weekend of sport or leisure in the country

Complimentary accessory:

A ‘conversational’ pocket square BMAG 42

Jetsetter

Silver Fox

Man of Mystery

Stylish, smooth & modern

Confident, assertive & slick

*SVA’s must have this season!

Whether it’s business or pleasure, take the world by storm by owning a suit that will take you from country to city by choosing a suit that it understated yet stylish. The trick is to choose a modern cut – that’s where you’ll win the brownie points! However keep the colour neutral so you can keep it versatile and mobile in your wardrobe. It’s important to think accessories when it comes to this look! A crisp white shirt however shall never go a miss when considering this look as your own.

Keeping it slick when you are a corporate guru. The best way to work your wardrobe when you have too much else to think about is investing in a suit that ticks all the boxes. When getting it right it falls down, mainly, to co-ordinating your suit with the right colour and accessories. So go for grey! It’s about time to admit if you are struggling, that’s fine! By opting for grey you can take the stress away from not being able to decide on black or tan leather shoes to go with, because both go perfectly well and do the job.

No man is complete this season without the perfect Tux to compliment his hot date with an invite to the ultimate black tie soiree! Go for the ‘007 look’ all the way in a monochrome and classic Tux that will give you status and desire. Remember though, its about the cut and shape tailored to your shape! This is a general rule amongst us gents, so get it right and visit your tailor.

Where to be seen:

Boarding a jet and landing in the exotic

Where to be seen:

In boardroom or sipping after work cocktails

Complimentary accessory:

Complimentary accessory:

Mulberry bag for travel purposes

Leather laptop case

Kitchens are a critical part of a home, both in living in a home and selling/buying. What is more, the design of the kitchen countertops plays a huge role in the appeal of a kitchen – what material was used, how easy to maintain, how they look, how they hold up, and many more considerations are all aspects when thinking about kitchen countertops. While granite has been the obvious choice for durable luxury in kitchen countertops over the past decade, there are so many other countertop options available today that we’re going to sidestep granite and look at other popular countertop materials. So, without further ado, here is a guide to the top 10 most popular kitchen countertops. We hope you’ll find the photos inspiring and the information useful.

A BEAUTY FALLS FROM THE SKY

Miss Gibraltar 2014 Shyanne Azzopardi recently did a charity skydive for the Gibraltar Alzheimer’s and Dementia Society. Talking to Shyanne she said, “I did the skydive in Sevilla. The sensation is incredible and so hard to describe to others if they haven’t experienced it themselves. I would recommend anyone who is thinking about doing a sky dive to go for it and not think twice. I am so happy I did this especially it being for a charity. This is what I wanted to do being a Miss Gibraltar... making a difference and helping out the community hands on or sky high in this case (1500ft) I truly believe in beauty with a purpose and I hope to help out as much as I can both in my reign as Miss Gibraltar and in the years to come. My target amount to raise is £5000 and I can proudly say I am getting close to meeting this target.”

NOVEMBER 2014

SCORPIO

23OCT - 21NOV

SAGITTARIUS

22NOV - 21DEC

Your horoscope for November 2014 is quite varied, and addresses quite a few aspects of your life. The primary one is health. For a little while now you have been feeling somewhat tired. Don’t worry it is nothing serious but it is fair to say that you have been burning the candle at both hands. It might be better if you slowed down a bit. Scorpios are known for their energy but you can’t carry on draining your energy supplies all the time. Focus a bit more on a better diet, and a somewhat less hectic keep fit program. Sometimes you just need to give yourself a break to replenish energy reserves.

You are in a bit of an adventurous mood, and you feel that you would like to spread your wings a little bit. Your home environment feels stale and your feet our itching to go somewhere. If the circumstances are right why don’t you go somewhere, take a break with a friend or just go off exploring if you are on your own. Even if you are a family orientated you could perhaps find some get away time but it will take some planning. Perhaps it is a good idea to spend November making plans and take a longer break in December over Christmas. Travelling in your mind can do you good as well.

AQUARIUS

PISCES

19FEB - 20MAR

GEMINI

21MAY - 20JUN

VIRGO

24AUG - 22SEP

20JAN - 18FEB

This month will be a month of improvement and that includes almost everything from health to finances. You started improving your home a while back, and this is still a work in progress. As you started the work, you came across several areas, which needed attention, and as you enjoy planning ahead, that is exactly what you did. Now it is time to finish off the work and focus on other areas. Your recent home improvement project cost you quite a bit of money, and this is the area you need to focus on now. Finances are not your strong side so you may want to get somebody else involved, and let them take over.

TAURUS

20APR - 20MAY

LEO

23JUL - 23AUG

This year you have managed to achieve more than other years so it is about time you gave yourself a pat on the back. Perhaps it is even about time you indulge yourself a little. We often give thanks to others but we seldom give thanks to ourselves. Take some time out and indulge something, which you would really like to do. This could mean a short trip or perhaps you should book yourself into a spa for a day of treats. During this hectic year you have neglected your health a little bit, and you need now to consider your health and wellbeing. This month try to make health a priority in your life, even though this might mean avoiding some social activities.

Despite many warnings, you have failed to pay a lot of attention to your family. You love to work and further your career but do try to make time for your family. At work you are always a larger than life character but sometimes when you come home, you have managed to exhaust yourself and frankly do not have energy for family commitments. This really needs to change, and before Christmas comes along you need to make a firm commitment to this matter. Do try and remember that this does not mean to rush out and buy everyone expensive Christmas present. The best gift you can give is your time. Your career or your business is doing well so you don’t need to worry about that.

Pisces have this amazing inbuilt personal strength and they can cope with almost any situation. The solution to the problem is hardly ever bog standard when it comes to Pisces, and they normally find their own unique solution to average problems. Flu and cold season will start early this year but don’t you be the first to rush to your friends’ aid. You are normally the first one at the door offering help, but this year you have to look after yourself first of all. Your health is normally quite robust but this year it can easily be affected by friends’ poor health. Infections can easily lead to complications so it is better if you try to stay away from your ailing friends.

Slow down a little; it is not good for your health to rush around. Stress can cause all sorts of physical problems, and you don’t want your life to be interrupted by bad health. At the moment you are feeling stressed but there is really no reason for you to be so anxious. The planetary aspects are causing your brain to race away with you, and you really need to slow down. Remember to eat well and enjoy exercises, which helps you to manage your stress. When you are at work try to leave all your other ideas and busy plans at the door, and focus on work. You can make some bad mistakes if you don’t learn how to cope with what you feel during November better.

New concepts and ideas are there for a reason, you may not have thought of them but that does not mean they are not valuable. In your heart of hearts, you know that you are longing for something new and different. When life becomes monotonous we can end up feeling a bit stale, and the only way we can change this is to change something in our lives. A good start for you to do this would be to arrange a trip. This might just refresh you, and cause a change of mind site. You are a very realistic person, but you can’t carry on in the same old routine all the time. Just a few tweaks might just make you feel different about life and yourself.

CAPRICORN

22DEC - 19JAN

ARIES

21MAR - 19APR

You are a very sociable person but sometimes you can come across as too pushy. Don’t push your friends around, or you might end up losing them all. You are also very competitive and this month your competitive nature will get the better of you if you are not careful. All Capricorns love competitive games such as golf, and like nothing better when family members participate. The problem is that you always think you know better, and end up competing with your own family. They don’t enjoy competing with you, they just want to take part so don’t push them too much. Sometimes no, just means no and you just have to learn to accept that.

Aries people normally rush headlong into new tasks full of self-confidence, and thinking they know best. Believing, or thinking, that you never have anything to learn from others can cause problems. Listening skills are very important, and learning how to listen to others should always be taken as a serious learning experience. This month you will learn how important it is to listen to others, and how important it can be to form new and maintain connections in your life. Connections will become of the utmost importance for you during November, and your new connections are not limited to your professional life.

CANCER

21JUN - 22JUL

If you are employed your boss at work will try to push you into going on some training courses. Before you agree to anything make sure the courses will actually benefit your career or current work situation. Your boss may have their personal agenda, and might just be fulfilling some sort of quota. If it is not for you, just say no and explain why. This will be both appreciated and understood by your boss, and may have some surprising results. Instead of making your job the priority this month, try to make sure you have a few days off to spend with friends and family. You may even want to take some time out for an early Christmas shopping trip.

LIBRA

23SEP - 220CT

Your financial situation maybe a bit delicate this month, and to be honest you have been doing your fair bit of supporting the ailing economy. Now you need a change of direction, and it might be a good idea to re-balance your finances, and look at which areas could do with a cash boost. There are also some areas in which savings could be made, and once savings measures have been implanted you will notice that you bank balance will start looking healthier. As a matter of fact, this is a topic, which you would like to explore further, after all you are known for your sense of balance.
