The Dracula and Transylvania Tour Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1 - Welcome to my land ! Your friend, Dracula Your English-speaking guide will pick you up from Bucharest Otopeni Airport. Explore Bucharest, the capital of Romania. In the evening enjoy a concert by George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra or travel to Valea Calugareasca, one of the top Romanian wine regions. After wine tasting and dinner return to Bucharest.
Day 2 –Bucharest to Brasov The day starts with a panoramic sightseeing tour of Bucharest city In the afternoon, we reach Brasov, one of the largest medieval towns in Transylvania.
Visit to Black Church - built between 1385-1477, one of the most important Gothic art monuments in Romania, impressing by its massiveness, the richness of architecture and its historical background.
Day 3-The real castle of Dracula Visit to Poenari Castle. Standing on a cliff but now in ruins, this is known as the real castle of Dracula (Vlad Tepes). To get to the top you must climb up its 1400 steps (takes approx. 1 hour).
Drive to the citadel of Sighisoara where Vlad the Impaler, future Prince of Wallachia, was born in 1431.
Day 4 -Bran Castle and Snagov Visit to Bran Castle, set to stop the crowds from pestering the solitude of the Count - most are stopped but not on this tour! The castle got its fame from Dracula`s legend written in 1897 by Bram Stoker and later on made into a film by Francis Ford Coppola.
Day trip to Snagov, a small village 40 km north of Bucharest, with its beautiful sixteen kilometer long lake. The Snagov monastery is situated on the island of the lake with the same name, we have to reach the monastery by crossing the lake by boat (If time and weather permit). Visitors come here to seek the tomb of Dracula sitting in the front of the church altar.
Day 5 -Goodbye Romania! We hope you have enjoyed your Transylvania tour and we look forward to having you back in order to discover other wonders of Romania. After breakfast transfer to Oropeni International Airport for flight back home.
