Don’t worry about me, I’m gonna make it alright Got my enemies crossed out in my sight I take a bad situation gonna make it right In the shadows of darkness I stand in the light You see it’s our style to keep it true I’ve had a bad year, a lot to go through I’ve been knocked out, beat down, black and blue S he’s not the one coming back for you If I fall back down, you’re gonna help me back up again If I fall back down, you’re gonna be my friend

It takes disaster to learn a lesson You’re gonna make it through the darkest night Some people betray one and cause treason We’re gonna make everything alright Well the worst of times, now, they don’t phase me Even if I look and act really crazy I went way down, she betrayed me Now my vision is no longer hazy I’m very lucky to have my crew They stood by me when she flew I’ve been knocked out, beat down, black and blue She’s not the one coming back for you

She’s not the one coming back for you If I fall back down, you’re gonna help me back up again If I fall back down, you’re gonna be my friend

David Chislett is a multi-talented speaker and writer. He is an experienced voice artist and MC with a strong background in poetry, theatre and live radio work, as well as live events and radio ads. Trained in public speaking, debating and acting from school level, David graduated to national radio in 1994 when Barney Simon used him as a live radio correspondent on 5FM from London. He has many more achievements to be viewed on his site. Dave wrote our opinion piece this month. http://www.davidchislett.co.za/

Grant (aka Bunny) is a fun lovin’ punk who is a full time student, finishing up his Masters in Molecular Biology and contemplating PhD. He has been known to frequent mielie fields in the Bloemfontein area with his communist panda’s at his side. When not stomping the corn cobs in his Doc’s, he can been seen at Mystic Boer with beer in hand and hubbly pipe in other. He claims to be in a band, has no photographic skills yet does it anyway, no drinking stamina (which Tina and Christelle can confirm), refuses to grow up and doesn’t understand why multi-coloured mohawks are not accepted in the work place. Grant photographed Skate for Change.

Olivia Mortimer is a seventeenyear-old photographer who likes listening to quiet music loud, sneaking into places, hanging out with her friends and being a weirdo. She’s the girl at the rock show and has a camera for a face. Olivia photographed the Oppi with Stella.

In 2003 Mark Squire who was involved with sports management, started his photography career at various events with the athletes he managed. The passion for photography grew with each event and has seen him photograph at various World Champ events and the Olympics. With his passion for photography Mark has moved into all forms of other photography and loves any challenge or assignment thrown at him. Mark photographer Roof of Africa. www.squirephotographers.com

Nicolene or Nix has just finished her degree in Media studies. She is a social whore always in trouble for not spending enough time at home. She loves everything weird and wonderful, like frequenting art exhibitions, Music shows and festivals, when her tiny little wallet will allow it. She also loves the outdoors and going to the Kalahari Desert is on the top ten lists of what to do!A free spirit with a lousy day job, she feels that she loves writing, but unfortunately realised way too late in her studying career that it pays next to nothing. Now screwed with a passion for writing and socialising, she has chosen to contribute to Vixxen as an outlet, hoping that one day she might be sane again. Nix reviewed Skate for Change.

Based in JHB, Samantha Williams is a Metal Head with a passion for Photography. She emerged as a professional photographer in 2010, most of her work can be spotted within the depths of Emalyth Alternate Eve, doing live band shows (survived a close encounter with Bile of Man) and Emalyth Girl sets. But don’t let this dark side of her fool you she is currently working on many other projects. Samantha initially set herself up as “Ultimate Photography” but after a long hard think during a cigarette and a Black Label her ego grew and rebranded herself as “Samantha Williams Photography”. Sam photographed Best of Base.

Born and bred in Johannesburg, Che unfortuantely did not come with an instruction manual when she arrived, so her parents really winged it with raising her. She was taught how to be a ninja so she has a black belt in Party-Karate, and is a make-up artist and part-time model . Oh, and she also loves pie. Che did our beauty section.

Camilla Rose is a philosopher by day, a rock ‘n roller by night, and an anarchist punk at heart. She also plays bass for The Death Valley Blues Band, and wrote a short story this month.

Chase is a part-time writer currently living in London, and is ashamed of his full-time job. He enjoys skinny jeans, Heineken, Jagermeister, local SA music, fine drinking establishments and questionable joints. Cahse photographed and reviewed Reading.

This little firecracker is multi-talanted - she owns KITTY KAT MAKEUP & STYLING and is the brand manager for EMILY THE STRANGE in SA. She has previous experience on shoots for magazines and film and she is tiny! Tamara wrote a special column, Kitty Kat’s Tips. www.suicidegirls.com/girls/ LaTara

Every now and then Joe Doe wanders through a door into the real world, where she tends to keep normality at bay with a magical paintbrush, a soul-catching camera and sometimes even just a humble pencil. She tends to find the exit very quickly. Joe illustrated Camilla Rose’s story.
