PRESIDENT’S FOREWORD
Welcome to another brilliant Year Book! Welcome to the Yearbook for 2021! It’s been another weird year of interruptions - some good for artists needing time to produce work, and some less welcome - with our Stanleys conference disrupted again. (Who can forget last year’s live feed pseudo-Stanleys breakfast, complete with shiny water jugs as substitute awards?!) This time we’re holding out to do the thing properly, complete with fancy dinner, a qualified host and statuettes! The entries took a while to come in this year, no doubt in part because of the upheaval to people’s working lives. Some may have lacked the opportunity to produce their normal output. Still, many we’ve heard from in our semiregular coffee-mornings note that “being forced to work from home” sounds like a normal day at the office for many an artist!

We understand that the very nature of what constitutes “cartooning” is changing, so we’ll be looking to adapt and better reflect those changes in the voting categories in future. We have always sought to do this over the years. Anyway, here’s a snapshot of the year in cartoons, caricatures, comic strips and more for you to enjoy. PLEASE VOTE! Then we’ll have some awards to celebrate when we meet in Coffs Harbour on the 25-27 February 2022 for the 37th Stanley Awards.
