What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned running a business?

Having the right chemistry and collaborative attitude with likeminded individuals are key. The pivotal decision that shapes the direction of our business lies in selecting individuals who share our brand’s pursuit of excellence and thrive on competition. Surrounding ourselves with those who appreciate and embrace hard work propels us forward.

What is your favorite thing about your business?

Despite the inherent stress of start-up mode, the most rewarding aspect of my business is being part of a team and learning what each individual brings to the table. Witnessing their passion, seeing them flourish and succeed, is very gratifying. Their achievements refuel me and provide the energy to persevere through the process of building our company.

What keeps you up at night? Thoughts of the responsibility I have toward the success of my colleagues our real estate agents tend to keep me up. Deliberating on the many details that must be managed, and the evolving list of tasks vital to their work, is a 24/7 undertaking for me.

What is the best piece of advice you have been given?

Early in my career, Dennis Veltre, a trusted friend, mentor and chairman of my personal board, imparted the significance of prioritizing excellence and consistency in every endeavor. He emphasized embodying the person I aspired to become. This translated into paying meticulous attention to detail, remaining thoroughly informed about my business and upholding unwavering standards in everything I do.

Founding Managing Partner - Austin, Ana Ruelas

“Details matter. Be paranoid and relentless about the details in all you do and hold yourself to that standard.”

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned running a business?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned in running my business is that you cannot do it all alone. You must ask for help, learn to delegate and force yourself to let go of a little bit of control if you want to grow your business.

What is the best piece of advice you have been given? “

You’re not for everyone, and that’s okay ”You cannot please everyone. You can make your absolute best cookie ever and someone is going to tell you that they don’t like sweets. Don’t take it personally, move on and focus on building the clients that do enjoy your work.

What is your favorite thing about your business?

My most favorite thing about my business is getting to be a part of people’s special moment birthdays, baby showers, weddings the events that they will remember forever. It brings me so much joy knowing that I can help make those special celebrations even more special.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned running a business?

Always expect the unexpected and become comfortable with the chaos of being an entrepreneur Every day is a rollercoaster, but when you’re doing something you’re passionate about, it is 100% worth it. Always be your own biggest cheerleader!

What does success mean to you?

Success is finding your passion, finding what fulfills you, incorporating those things into your business and being able to go to sleep at night knowing that you’re living your true purpose Living a meaningful and peaceful life is what success means to me.

Why is it important to support women-owned businesses?

I’m very passionate about supporting women-owned businesses because historically, women have faced so many barriers to financial freedom Women are naturally more caring, more giving, have more sympathy, more empathy. The more successful or financially successful women there are in the world, the more likely we are to see the ripples of their kindness and generosity.

“The term shabu-shabu is onomatopoeic, derived from the “swish-swish” sound as ingredients are stirred and cooked in a simmering pot.”

What are you most proud of in your business?

dipdipdip Tatsu-Ya unfailingly offers an immersive experience that’s customized to palates and occasions; just as two friends can come in to make a weekday night more fun, a group of professionals may come talk business over a worldclass dinner, and a couple can dip in to celebrate a milestone.

What’s one thing you could not live without that supports your business life?

Although it’s a Japanese dining concept, we always look to highlight the best quality products from both Texas and Japan; the shabu-shabu experience offered at the restaurant wouldn’t be possible without high-quality products.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned running a business?

We learned early on that people enjoy variety. At dipdipdip, we make a concerted effort to provide a host of protein (think sashimi-grade fish, pork, smoked duck and A5 Wagyu ribeye) and vegetable options, along with both a-lacarte and omakase (chef’s choice) dining routes.

Recently, I watched a shy girl at an elementary school sit in front of our Magic Mirror, a mirror that has a real conversation with you It told her how much her teachers adore her. The profound need our young people have regarding mental and emotional health Over at The Kindness Campaign, we’re fighting as hard as we can to support them, but we do it because we know how much they need help

Why is it important to support women-owned businesses?

We lift each other up. Inside our Kind Leadership program, teenage girls show up with big ideas but are not afraid to say, “I don’t know what I’m doing ” The other girls in the program support them. That is the culture of women-owned businesses I’m honored to witness those values at such a young age.

What is your favorite thing about your business?

I guide women through transformative health, lifestyle and mindset shifts, which is deeply fulfilling. Ultimately, these changes can empower women to shape their lives authentically and inspire them to make a positive impact in the world Bearing witness to this is undoubtedly my favorite thing about Rad Wellbeing.

What does success mean to you?

All women deserve to experience and embody their highest potential physically, mentally and beyond. When I can help get them there, I consider that a profound success Living in alignment with my work is also a primary measure of success, and I am incredibly grateful to have that alignment.

What is your go-to for self-care?

Self-care can sometimes be trivialized to spa days or Netflix binges. These can be delightful, but true self-care is about attuning to our needs as women in a meaningful and compassionate way. For me, it’s being in nature, meditation, creative endeavors or connecting with the people I love.

What’s new at Austin FC?

Austin FC released the club’s 2024 secondary jersey, “The Armadillo Kit,” on Feb 15, 2024 at a live event at ACL Live in Austin. The Armadillo Kit celebrates one of the Austin community’s most famous and vibrant cultural exports: live music

What is the inspiration behind

The Armadillo Kit?

Inspired by Armadillo World Headquarters (The ‘Dillo), a music hall and beer garden that operated in Austin from 1970 to 1980, Austin FC’s jersey works to honor the impact of The ‘Dillo

Tell us about the colors and icons used in The Armadillo Kit jersey. The Armadillo Kit features a new shade of verde set against a cream-colored base, with an image of an armadillo on the jock tag, as well as Armadillo World Headquarters’ original address of 525 Barton Springs Road on the back of the neckline. The jersey also features the intertwining oaks found within the club's original crest, which represents a focus

on the oak imagery in a way that has not previously been woven into an Austin FC jersey. The new kit is then rounded out with the club’s front-of-jersey sponsor, YETI another iconic local Austin brand whose downtown Austin flagship store sits a block away from the original Armadillo World Headquarters and sleeve sponsor, Netspend.

Who are the new faces in Austin FC’s campaign?

Featured in the Austin FC campaign are two legendary Austin women, Latin Grammy nominee Gina Chavez and R&B/soul artist Jackie Venson. Chavez and Venson prove Austin’s positioning as Live Music Capital of the World is alive and well, especially with Austin FC.
