She’s a country girl at heart, and she has put that heart into championing many causes. Lending time and leadership to her community and state has become part of her very nature.

She initiated projects such as planting wildflowers along 620 and Highway 71, and was a member of the LCRA drought Management Committee, Lake Travis ISD Budget and Financial Advisory Committee, Lake Travis Governmental Advisory Committee, the Texas Work Force Commission, Lake Travis PTA Officer and much more. Cleta has never let the grass grow under her feet, she owned and operated a restaurant in Westlake, where she supplied catering for Lady Bird Johnson, John Connally and other dignitaries. A Retreat for Couples® ^xç ÑÜ|Çv|ÑÄxá yÉÜ t {xtÄà{ç? }ÉçyâÄ ÜxÄtà|ÉÇá{|Ñ4

Through the Soul2Soul: A Retreat for Couples® experience, you and your partner will have the opportunity to explore deeply while practicing the following key principles for a healthy, joyful relationship!

PRINCIPLE #1: Dig in your own suitcase! Rather than rummaging through your partner’s suitcase, look intently and honestly in your own and do what needs to be done to put those things away. In other words, be willing to heal your own wounds.

by Kate Bares-Johnson

In my relationship work with couples, I have found there are certain key elements necessary to create and maintain healthy, intimate relationships. Unfortunately, by the time couples get to my door they are already out of balance and suffering, and their energy is usually invested in blame and battle. Rather than referee, I encourage them to explore the purpose of their relationship, as well as the purpose of the conflicts, and to use the discord to learn something about themselves and their partner. More often than not, it is soon revealed that both partners have the same desires for their relationship, but somewhere along the way, began to work against each other. Recognizing this, the first step is to get back to basics. To begin, I encourage them to explore what each has brought to the relationship. When we enter into partnership, we come with a suitcase packed with life experiences, including wounds and resentments from past relationships, fears, needs, and painful beliefs about ourselves and even about love. In other words, we come into relationships with wounds that can and will be healed through a new experience of love. With the awareness of these principles and a willingness to practice them, your relationship will begin to heal as you work toward healing yourSelf and supporting your partner in doing the same.

Yes you CAN have the relationship of your dreams!

PRINCIPLE #2: Honor and validate your partner. The very distinct differences between masculine and feminine energy, even in same-sex relationships, is necessary to the balance of all intimate relationships. Learning to recognize, understand, and support these unique qualities, rather than judging or criticizing, is honoring and validating to your partner.

PRINCIPLE # 3: Do not attack! Resist attacking your partner or yourself in thought, word, and action. If you only practice this one principle, your life and your love will change dramatically. PRINCIPLE #4: Remember that you are on the same team. If a teammate makes a mistake and lets the team down, we generally forgive, encourage and pick up the slack if needed. Rather than take each other’s mistakes and mishaps personally, remember you are teammates in life, working toward the same goals.

PRINCIPLE #5: Remember the Higher Purpose of your relationship. We all need to feel a sense of purpose in our lives, yet we often fail to see a higher purpose for our intimate relationships. When in alignment and committed to something greater than ourselves, our relationship has more meaning, life has more value, and love has no limit!

Join us for Soul2Soul: A Retreat for Couples® March 28-30 and discover the Soul of your relationship through this profoundly healing and enlightening journey for couples.

I love Alite 09/03/2007 Posted by marebella. There’s not enough space to write the many great things I have to say about Alite. For years I wanted to get rid of unwanted hair; finally someone told me about Heidi at Alite Laser, that they could remove hair painlessly and the cost was very reasonable. I got rid of a problem which was a misery for twenty years…it didn't cost a lot. I am so happy, and can't recommend this place enough. If you are reading this, don't hesitate, go. Better prices, better laser and comfortable surroundings 05/07/2007 Posted by scotthicks. I'm a 40 yr male who went for back and chest hair removal.. was nervous, but Heidi made me feel comfortable and informed. Results fantastic. I had consulted with a larger "chain" operator but never felt at ease enough to go back. It really is Austin's best!! 4/30/2007 by weareinlove11. I would comfortably send anyone from my mother to my boyfriend to Alite because I know they would receive the best treatment in Austin by some of the friendliest people I have ever met. For ‘summer skin’ call 328-1555 or email info@alitelaser.com for free personal consultation and assessment. Visit AliteLaser.com for more information.

history in the spotlight:

SPICEWOOD Baptist Church

Celebrating a Century of Ministry

For one hundred years, this beautiful white country church has ministered to those within the small community of Spicewood. While this pectoral church is reminiscent of days gone by, it is still very much alive, active and GROWING. A full year of celebration is underway, kicked off with a “Happy Birthday Church” theme and reception held in January. February turns the focus to “God Loves His Church”, in recognition of members being married for more than 50 years. March’s theme is “Upon This Rock”, when on March 30, orders will be taken for engraved memory stones which will be placed in a walkway at a future date. On April 13, it is “Member Recognition” when current and former members are recognized with a “Guess Who is the Baby” contest. May’s emphasis will be “Founding Mothers”, starting with an “old fashioned” tea party for all ladies on May 3. Hats and dress of yesteryear are encouraged. On May 4, Sunday morning services under the tabernacle, complete with hand fans and an on-thegrounds picnic lunch. Games and a sing-along will continue until mid-afternoon. “Founding Fathers” will be the June theme with another tabernacle service. The service will be followed with lemonade and cookies, along with an antique car show. During the month of July, the theme is “God Bless our Church and Nation”, and will have a Christmas in July time of replenishing the kitchen. August 2, is a day of outreach to the community with a concentration on “Springs of Living Water”, that will be followed by an heirloom plant exchange. The worship service scheduled for September 7, will be followed by “Tastes and Smells of the Bible”. It’s focus will be on, “Tree of Life” to encourage a look back at family trees and most importantly, the lineage of Jesus Christ. On October 4, is “Pastor Recognition”, as tribute to pastors and former pastors and their families. Sunday, October 5, will be “Pastor Appreciation” Sunday. October 10, will be an old-fashioned Ice Cream Social after the evening service. “Thanksgiving” will be the focus in November, with a combined worship service and potluck lunch scheduled for November 30. December’s focus of “Happy Birthday Jesus” will be full or typical Christmas celebrations, such as the Country Christmas.

Everyone is invited!

Sunday worship services: 8:30 a.m. & 10:00 a.m. Sunday School: 9:45 a.m. Sunday evening service: 6:00 p.m. Wednesday service: Sweet Hour of Prayer, at 7:00 p.m.
