Using Google’s forward-thinking vision of the modern workplace as a conceptual blueprint, this campus headquarters serves as a incubator for innovation and a technological metropolis that encourages serendipitious encouters and “happy accidents”. Two cores of offices and amenities are divided and united through a circulatory spine that nutures the spirit of collaboration and community. This spine takes the form of folded plates that connect the the two poles of the building. The semi programmatic spaces located along this spine serve multiple functions; from screening rooms, to group and solo work spaces, as well as areas for recreation and relaxation.

Clasped hands are enjoined to create a hillside transition zone between two campuses. The resultant “fingers of space offer a range of gallery and activity arrangements, all while maintaining a human and intimate scale. Through the intersections of these fingers, crevices of light and space assure an ongoing dialogue between interior and exterior as the users weave their way along alternate paths.
