Game 28 American (19-8, 12-4) vs. Navy (22-5, 14-2)

American (19-8, 12-4) fell to Army, 64-60, on Saturday afternoon in West Point, N.Y. but still clinched a home quarterfinal game in the 2014 Patriot League Tournament. Arron Zimmerman scored 20 points in the loss and Alexis Dobbs chipped in 17 points with a game-high six rebounds and three assists. Shaquilla Curtis also posted six boards for the Eagles but the team was outrebounded 40-28. Dobbs leads the Eagles with 13.0 points per game. Zimmerman and Jen Dumiak have added 10.7 and 10.1 ppg, respectively, and Michelle Holmes leads the conference shooting 63.2 percent on the year while averaging 6.9 ppg. Sarah Kiely leads the team with 5.5 rebounds per game. Dobbs also ranks third in the league with 1.6 steals per game and fifth with 4.4 assists per game. Navy (22-5, 14-2) claimed at least a share of the Patriot League Regular Season title with a 64-57 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday. Jade Geif led three double-digit scorers with 21 points and Alix Membreno scored 17 points with Audrey Bauer adding 15. Membreno posted a double-double with a game-high 10 boards as the Midshipmen held a 47-35 advantage in rebounds. Both teams struggled from the floor when American and the Midshipmen met earlier this season, but Navy was able to hang on for the 48-44 win in Annapolis, Md. Dumiak led the Eagles with 14 points and nine rebounds and Holmes pulled down a game-high 10 boards as American held a 45-36 edge on the glass. Kara Pollinger scored a game-high 17 points for Navy. 2013-14 AU Women’s Basketball - Tallied less than 10 turnovers seven times on the year, with a season-low four against Dartmouth (12/1) and Holy Cross (1/5). - Dished out over 20 assists four times this season. - Has hit 10+ three’s three times on the year. - Been perfect from the line twice this season against UMass, 12-for-12 (11/17), and Colgate 20-for-20 (2/8). - Five players reached double-figures in the win over Lehigh (1/15). The last time American had that balanced of a scoring attack was on Feb. 23, 2008. - Shot 56.3 percent from 3-point range vs. Colgate (1/11), marking the first time an Eagles’ team has shot 50 percent from beyond the arc since Dec. 21, 2011. - Held Loyola (Md.) to 34 points (1/8), the first time an American squad has held an opponent to under 35 points since Dec. 30, 2010 vs. Binghamton. Head Coach • 1st Season • Towson ‘94 • 19-8 American University Director of Athletics Dr. Billy Walker announced the hiring of Megan Gebbia as American’s new women’s basketball head coach on August 12, 2013.

years at Marist College, she has led her team to ten consecutive 20-win seasons including the program’s first two 30-win seasons. She has been to the NCAA tournament nine times, winning five tournament games in the last seven years--including a trip to the Sweet Sixteen. Her overall record while at Marist is 264-64... an unbelievable 200 games over .500. I couldn’t be happier to welcome Megan to the American Eagles family!”

She was a four-year member of the Retrievers’ squad and served on the NCAA StudentAthlete Advisory Committee for two seasons. Coll graduated from UMBC in 2003 with a degree in issues and athletic administration and received her Master’s in sociology from St. John’s in 2007.

Assistant Coach • 1st Season • Marist ‘08 Nikki Flores begins her first season on Coach Gebbia’s coaching staff after spending the previous season at Colgate. Flores focused on recruiting and also assisted in preseason and individual workouts and breaking down game film. She helped lead the Raiders to one of its biggest RPI wins in program history and two wins over the top seed in the 2013 Patriot League tournament to advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2007. Flores also served as the first assistant and recruiting coordinator at Division II Holy Family University from 2009 to 2012, helping the team to three CACC Regular

Season Championships from 2010 to 2012 and three berths to the NCAA Tournament. Flores was a four-year member of the women’s basketball team at Marist, earning All-MAAC Second Team honors in her senior season and being honored on the MAAC All-Rookie Team in 2005. She helped lead the Foxes to four MAAC Regular Season titles, three MAAC Tournament Championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance during her junior year. Flores graduated in 2008 with a degree in history and adolescent education.

Stallings aided in the development of the post players, in addition to helping with practice planning and recruiting. She also served as a head and assistant coach of the Newburgh Liberty AAU team.

Graduate Assistant • 1st Season • Rowan ‘13 Allie Bassetti begins her first season as a graduate assistant coach at American University. Bassetti most recently served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J. where she worked on practice planning, breaking down game film and scouting reports. She was the head coach of the Philadelphia Belles Nike Travel Team from 2008 to 2012 and practice coordinator for the Philadelphia Belles AAU team from 2008-2011. During that time, Bassetti also acted as an assistant coach at Ss. John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School, leading the team to a record of 13-11 in

2010-11 and 20-9 in her final season. She has been a clinician and counselor for Blue Star Basketball since 2008, conducting skill sessions and player evaluations for seventh to ninth grade students. Bassetti has also worked with U.S. Junior National Team Tournaments as an assistant events coordinator and site director from 2008 to 2013. A native of Turnersville, N.J., Bassetti played point guard at Rowan from 2008-2010, leading the team to consecutive NJAC Semifinal playoff appearances in 2009 and 2010. She graduated from Rowan with a degree in psychology in 2013.
