The American University women’s basketball team closes out its three-game road swing with a pair of games at Quinnipiac on Saturday, November 23 at 2 p.m. and Fordham on Monday, November 25 at 7 p.m. American (3-0) is off to its best start in program history since the 2008-09 season, extending its win streak with a 60-39 win over UMBC on Wednesday night. The Eagles hit nine three’s, with eight in the first half, and went up 38-16 at the intermission. American shot 42.3 percent from the field and 34.6 percent from beyond the arc as Jen Dumiak and Ari Booth led the scoring effort with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Michelle Holmes pulled down a team-best eight boards with American holding a 37-34 edge at the glass.

Quinnipiac owns the only win in the series between the two squads, a 72-59 victory in Bender Arena in December 2011. Dobbs led the Eagles with 15 points as Dumiak added 12. Fordham (2-2) bounced back from consecutive losses with a 84-63 win over Pacific on Sunday. Five players reach double-figures led by Erin Rooney with 23 points as Emily Tapio added 17. Rooney also completed a double-double with a team-best 10 rebounds. The Rams shot 57.1 percent from the field and 47.4 percent from beyond the arc. Rooney has led Fordham in scoring and rebounding in three of its four games this season and is averaging 21.3 ppg, 8.8 rpg and 3.8 apg. Abigail Corning has notched 12.3 ppg and 5.3 rpg with a teambest 5.0 apg.

The two teams are tied at two games apiece in the all-time series. American has the lone win in Bronx, N.Y. but the Rams own the last win in the series after posting a 71-50 victory in Bender Arena a year ago. Coll played basketball abroad in Portugal, Germany, Holland and Wales after playing at the collegiate level for UMBC. She was a four-year member of the Retrievers’ squad and served on the NCAA StudentAthlete Advisory Committee for two seasons. Coll graduated from UMBC in 2003 with a degree in issues and athletic administration and received her Master’s in sociology from St. John’s in 2007.

Assistant Coach • 1st Season • Marist ‘08 Nikki Flores begins her first season on Coach Gebbia’s coaching staff after spending the previous season at Colgate. Flores focused on recruiting and also assisted in preseason and individual workouts and breaking down game film. She helped lead the Raiders to one of its biggest RPI wins in program history and two wins over the top seed in the 2013 Patriot League tournament to advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2007. Flores also served as the first assistant and recruiting coordinator at Division II Holy Family University from 2009 to 2012, helping the team to three CACC Regular

Season Championships from 2010 to 2012 and three berths to the NCAA Tournament. Flores was a four-year member of the women’s basketball team at Marist, earning All-MAAC Second Team honors in her senior season and being honored on the MAAC All-Rookie Team in 2005. She helped lead the Foxes to four MAAC Regular Season titles, three MAAC Tournament Championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance during her junior year. Flores graduated in 2008 with a degree in history and adolescent education.

Stallings aided in the development of the post players, in addition to helping with practice planning and recruiting. She also served as a head and assistant coach of the Newburgh Liberty AAU team.

Graduate Assistant • 1st Season • Rowan ‘13 Allie Bassetti begins her first season as a graduate assistant coach at American University. Bassetti most recently served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J. where she worked on practice planning, breaking down game film and scouting reports. She was the head coach of the Philadelphia Belles Nike Travel Team from 2008 to 2012 and practice coordinator for the Philadelphia Belles AAU team from 2008-2011. During that time, Bassetti also acted as an assistant coach at Ss. John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School, leading the team to a record of 13-11 in

2010-11 and 20-9 in her final season. She has been a clinician and counselor for Blue Star Basketball since 2008, conducting skill sessions and player evaluations for seventh to ninth grade students. Bassetti has also worked with U.S. Junior National Team Tournaments as an assistant events coordinator and site director from 2008 to 2013. A native of Turnersville, N.J., Bassetti played point guard at Rowan from 2008-2010, leading the team to consecutive NJAC Semifinal playoff appearances in 2009 and 2010. She graduated from Rowan with a degree in psychology in 2013.
