American unofficially opened its season on Sunday with a 76-62 exhibition win over IUP. Three players scored in double-figures in the game. Arron Zimmerman led the team with 14 points, shooting 5-of-8 from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range, and six rebounds. Jen Dumiak and Geleisa George chipped in 10 points apiece with Alexis Dobbs and Dumiak each tallying four assists.American shot 7:00 p.m. 49.1 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from three-point 2:00 p.m. range in the game, also shooting 68.4 percent from the foul 11:30 a.m. line. 2:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. American returns four starters and 10 letterwinners from a 2:00 p.m. squad that finished 15-14 and third in the Patriot League 7:00 p.m. with an 8-6 mark in conference play last season. 1:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. Dobbs will once again lead the Eagles after averaging a team-best 11.0 ppg, 3.9 apg and a Patriot League-best 2.0 1:00 p.m. spg while shooting 36.1 percent from beyond the arc. The 7:00 p.m. senior was named the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the 4:00 p.m. Year for the second consecutive year last season and was 7:00 p.m. also recognized on the All-Patriot League Second Team. 2:00 p.m. Academic All-Patriot League honoree Dumiak returns for 7:00 p.m. American after tallying 10.9 ppg, 3.0 rpg and 2.8 apg. Messiah, a Division III school, advanced to the Commonwealth Conference Championship a year ago and finished with an overall record of 25-5. The Falcons held the seven-point advantage with under 10 minutes to play in the game but couldn’t hold off a rally down the stretch. Chelsea Danel posted nine points and a team-best three assists in the game. - The Falcons posted a 2-1 record in the NCAA Division III Championships, earning decisions over Lancaster Bible College, 84-51, and William Paterson, 78-70, to advance to the Sweet 16 where it fell to Widener, 67-52. She was a four-year member of the Retrievers’ squad and served on the NCAA StudentAthlete Advisory Committee for two seasons. Coll graduated from UMBC in 2003 with a degree in issues and athletic administration and received her Master’s in sociology from St. John’s in 2007.

Assistant Coach • 1st Season • Marist ‘08 Nikki Flores begins her first season on Coach Gebbia’s coaching staff after spending the previous season at Colgate. Flores focused on recruiting and also assisted in preseason and individual workouts and breaking down game film. She helped lead the Raiders to one of its biggest RPI wins in program history and two wins over the top seed in the 2013 Patriot League tournament to advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2007. Flores also served as the first assistant and recruiting coordinator at Division II Holy Family University from 2009 to 2012, helping the team to three CACC Regular

Season Championships from 2010 to 2012 and three berths to the NCAA Tournament. Flores was a four-year member of the women’s basketball team at Marist, earning All-MAAC Second Team honors in her senior season and being honored on the MAAC All-Rookie Team in 2005. She helped lead the Foxes to four MAAC Regular Season titles, three MAAC Tournament Championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance during her junior year. Flores graduated in 2008 with a degree in history and adolescent education.

Assistant Coach • 1st Season • Marist ‘12 A former Marist College standout, Emily Stallings most recently served as a graduate assistant at East Stroudsburg. Stallings aided in the development of the post players, in addition to helping with practice planning and recruiting. She also served as a head and assistant coach of the Newburgh Liberty AAU team.

Graduate Assistant • 1st Season • Rowan ‘13 Allie Bassetti begins her first season as a graduate assistant coach at American University. Bassetti most recently served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J. where she worked on practice planning, breaking down game film and scouting reports. She was the head coach of the Philadelphia Belles Nike Travel Team from 2008 to 2012 and practice coordinator for the Philadelphia Belles AAU team from 2008-2011. During that time, Bassetti also acted as an assistant coach at Ss. John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School, leading the team to a record of 13-11 in

2010-11 and 20-9 in her final season. She has been a clinician and counselor for Blue Star Basketball since 2008, conducting skill sessions and player evaluations for seventh to ninth grade students. Bassetti has also worked with the U.S. Junior National Team as an assistant events coordinator and site director from 2008 to 2013. A native of Turnersville, N.J., Bassetti played point guard at Rowan from 2008-2010, leading the team to consecutive NJAC Semifinal playoff appearances in 2009 and 2010. She graduated from Rowan with a degree in psychology in 2013.
