Atlanta Workshop Players Journeys into fantasy, embrace reality.

Imagine becoming a super hero, a pirate, a damsel in distress, a space alien, a concert cellist, a frat brother, a vampire or an explorer in foreign lands! For a successful actor… there are no limits to the fantastical fantasies that can fill their lives with adventures on stage & screen! With great success in the entertainment industry comes visibility and opportunity to improve reality!

The motto of The Atlanta Workshop Players Theatre Company (AWP) is: KIDS CHANGING THE WORLD ONE AUDIENCE AT A TIME! So it is fitting that these young, vibrant AWP Alumni are using their celebrity power for good.

Kinsey McLean is a recurring character on GREEK and has been seen on GREY’S ANATOMY, COLD CASE, HOUSE, JAG… Kinsey and his fictional fraternity brothers on GREEK began a season-long campaign for Global Green USA, Girls, Inc. and Cancer for College charities. Cast members do PSAs, participate in fundraisers, press events and public appearances to encourage people to: “Pledge Yourself to Do Something”.

Teen actor, Justin Martin devotes time to Pennies for Patients, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The Lollipop Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Tree People and Children’s Health Care of Atlanta. When Justin is not volunteering, he is busy performing on Broadway in THE LION KING or in movies like THE SOLOIST, THE EXPRESS, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3 and A RAISIN IN THE SUN… or guest starring on television.

Amber Brooke Wallace is a popular actor recurring on 90210, VAMPIRE DIARIES, IQ-145 & ONE TREE HILL as well as having an active film career. Amber volunteers for the Walk for Breast Cancer and donates proceeds from the Amber Brooke Band CDs to Cancer research.

These and other Alumni also support their creative roots by donating time and resources to nurture the next generation of Atlanta Workshop Players. AWP is known for its stellar introduction to the ins and outs of Hollywood and Broadway thru the AWP Master’s Series. Workshops are presented with LA and NYC casting directors, celebrities, producers and writers. This fall will feature a 3-day workshop with Emmy award-winning television director, Mary Lou Belli. AWP’s Hollywood Bound course has launched many careers and is taught by artistic director, Lynn Stallings. Hollywood Bound addresses all of the topics anybody considering a future in Hollywood would need to know. Optional trips to LA and NYC for auditions, classes and networking are a highlight. It is inspirational to meet and witness the artistic dedication and giving spirit of so many ‘pros’. Their message is clear: Follow your dreams, enjoy the journey and make a difference along the way!
