Ashoka Arab World - Internship Program Terms of Reference Media and Marketing Intern Background: Ashoka is the global association of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs—men and women with system changing solutions for the world’s most urgent social problems. From its regional office in Cairo, Ashoka Arab World (AAW) creates a competitive, entrepreneurial, and globally integrated citizen sector and develops the profession of social entrepreneurship. AAW currently works with more than 80 Ashoka Fellows located in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Libya and the UAE. Position Title: Media and Marketing Intern Reports To: Media and Marketing Junior Officer Duration: 3 months Salary: Unpaid Location: Cairo, Egypt. Office hours: 9 am to 5 pm. Working days: Five working days from Sunday till Thursday, where Friday and Saturday are off.

Duties and Responsibilities: Ashoka Arab World is seeking a creative Media and Marketing Intern who will:

1. Support the preparation and the execution of Ashoka Arab World’s major events • Support the preparation of the events agenda, scenario and list of invitees. •

Support the research for needed materials to generate content for the event’s presentations and speeches. • Support the creation of a database of moderators and panelists and categorizing them according to their field of experience • Support preparing all the needed logistical details for the events before and during the event. • Support sending the invitations and following up. • Support creating budgets for the events. • Support creating a marketing plan for the event. • Support all the post-event activities. 2. Conduct Research to create content for Ashoka Arab World Social Media Campaign Create a map for influential social media accounts and individuals who can engage with Ashoka Arab World activities. • Assist in creating a monthly report on assessing Ashoka Arab World online activities • Support the creation of Ashoka Arab World newsletters. Qualifications:

Education: Fresh graduate or a senior student in a relevant field preferably PR, Marketing, or Social Science.

Language: Native Fluency in written and spoken Arabic. - Fluency in written and spoken English.

Required Skills: Excellent Knowledge of social media tools. Excellent writing skills. Excellent communication (written and oral) skills. Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. The Person:

Interns are offered first-class immersion into the social entrepreneurship scene in Egypt, being exposed and connected to the world’s leading social innovators and getting involved with a team fully committed to positive social changemaking. Interns are treated like staff members and, consequently, have similar responsibilities. They are given the opportunity to attend all meetings, conferences, and events, and are encouraged to share their insights and ideas with regards to any and all office operations, procedures and programs.
