PRESIDENTS MESSAGE Dear AAHABC Members and Friends, Thank you to those exhibitors who attended our AAHABC Annual Classic Show at Thunderbird Show Park in May. We received many positive comments about our Friday night Pizza Party, Horse Sales Presentation, Dog Showmanship classes and our games: sack race, piggy back race and three legged race. Thank you to all of our Directors and club members who organized this terrific event. We are happy that so many of you were able to share this evening with us. Our Board of Directors is considering turning our Friday Fun Evening at the Classic into a yearly event and presenting our Annual AAHABC Awards at this time. Our double Region 5 and Region 17 Qualifier for Dressage and Sport Horse was very well attended and our main ring judge, John Powers, did a great job judging the performance classes. Thank you to Joan Weir, our capable Whipper in, our terrific Announcer, Heidi Buerger, Ashley Toye, our knowledgeable EC Steward and our fabulous Show Secretaries, Marla Patterson and Sandra Mann and to all of you who volunteered your time to make it a successful show. Congratulations to those of you who attended the Region 1, Region 4, Region 3 and Region 5 Championship Shows. We are proud of our members who do so well at these competitions. I attended both Region 4 and Region 3 and I especially enjoyed a ‘field trip’ to visit Carson City with the ‘Driediger Gang’. Region 4 was a very ‘hot’ show, with temperatures over 100 degrees towards the end of the week, on the other hand, the Region 3 Reno Show threw most every type of weather at us: beautiful sun, warm temperatures, wind, then an extreme drop of temperature, more wind, rain, torrents of rain, hail and floods, and repeat three more days during the show. For those of you considering attending the R3 show in 2016, it will be moving to Rancho Murieta, CA. Good Luck to those of you attending Region 17 in Calgary, AB. NEWS EXCELSIOR STABLES Excelsior Stables and Nicki Muller Training have had a successful show season thus far, competing at Region 5 Sport Horse in Auburn, Region 4 in Nampa, and Region 5 in Monroe. At Region 5 Sport Horse, three horses brought home a total of two champions, four reserves and two top fives. During Region 4, three horses earned a total of two champions, two reserves and four top fives. We brought four horses to Region 5 and came home with three champions, all unanimous, one reserve and eight top fives. Next on the schedule is Region 17 in Calgary, then on to Canadian Nationals in Brandon. Watch for the following pairs at nationals: CWF Tango Tilly & Suzanne Calnan, Handymann++++// & Laura Leitch, LBF Wildcard+ & Erica Partington, True Colors MR & Heather Redman. We are also excited to announce the arrival of a huge grey Half-Arabian filly (Apaladin x Lipstick n Dynamite) at the beginning of July. We are very eager to see what the future holds for this beauty! REED TRAINING STABLES We have had a wonderful year that included various class A shows, Regional’s and now the upcoming Nationals. At the beginning of the year we welcomed many new clients as well as returning clients and gained wonderful new horses to our show string. We are very proud of our current group and look forward to many more memories to be created. Region 4 Results: 7 horses 8 Championships – 5 Unanimous 2 Reserve Championships 15 Top Fives Region 5 Results: 9 horses 9 Championships – 6 Unanimous 9 Reserve Championships 27 Top Fives Currently we are preparing for travel to 2015 Canadian Nationals in Brandon, MB during the middle of August. AAHABC Jibb ah 2015 Dates & Deadlines In the new year we will be publishing three issues of The Jibbah. The first will be in early spring followed by a special edition which will run prior to the Region XVII Championships and again one later in the year. These Jibbah Issues will be of electronic version only. As times are changing we have decided to go digital. The online versions will be sent out via eblast to a 15 000 + subscribers list, posted on AAHABC. com, Facebook and shared amongst others within the Arabian Industry through individual postings.
