Honors English Literature: Anglo-Saxon To 1775 LEC 48-54 This course chronologically surveys English writing from the AngloSaxon period to 1775 and examines the work of both major and minor writers including such writers as the anonymous author of Beowulf, Chaucer, Malory, the anonymous author of Everyman, More, Sidney, Spenser, Marlowe, Shakespeare, Donne, Jonson, Bacon, Herrick, Herbert, Marvell, Milton, Dryden, Swift, Pope, Johnson, Boswell and Gray.
