LIFE WITHOUT STRESS DR. MELINDA BYRD‐MURPHY ALABAMA SOUTHERN COMMUNITY COLLEGE Smokers wouldn’t know what to do, no stress cripples the need for nicotine, that seductive weed of relaxation that flows through your brain like a super‐ charged dose of lithium. After‐work social drinkers couldn’t handle life without stress, the need for one, maybe two drinks at your favorite bar when the glass of Merlot or bottle of Michelob drowns the day’s problems. Worry‐warts would need to find another source for their troubles without stress keeping them from always saying, “No” when they really mean, “Yes” and wouldn’t a “yes” feel better afterwards?
