Chérie Fabric Collection by Frances Newcombe

My name is Frances Newcombe. I’m a fabric designer, motion graphic designer, quilter and lover of all crafts. I graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1988 with a BFA in illustration. After college I returned to my native Los Angeles, and began working in Broadcast Design for television. For over twenty years I have created on-air graphics, promos, and main titles for every major network. My first love, however, is sewing, particularly quilting, and in the last several years I have devoted much of my time to various sewing projects, and fabric design. My second collection with Art Gallery Fabrics is called Cherie. Cherie is romantic fabric collection reflecting the lifestyle of a young, beautiful jetsetter who lives in a loft apartment in an urban setting but who loves botanicals, art and traveling. She’s the kind of person who creates a garden in the midst of a city. She collects all kinds of flowers and botanicals, pressing them into scrapbooks. The style is fresh modern and airy with a tiny hint of grunge.
