SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKERS CHEF TRAVIS PETERSEN, Nomad Cook Chef Travis Petersen is a native of the Pacific Northwest. Growing up in Vancouver, Canada, cannabis culture was long accepted before legalization in 2018, influencing the young chef to develop an understanding and love for the plant. Petersen spent over a decade working in the oil and gas industry as a business development manager for one of the world’s largest valve companies before briefly appearing on a reality TV show in 2016: “MasterChef Canada.” Following the competition, Chef Petersen launched his new business venture – The Nomad Cook. He spent over two years traveling around western Canada and regularly hosting pop-up dinners. Over the 4/20 weekend in 2018, the Infused Dining Series was born. Petersen turned an Airbnb rental into a pop-up restaurant for the dining series, hosting 164 guests in groups of 12 over four days. From there, The Nomad Cook hit the road, traveling all over Canada, introducing the newest frontier in the culinary world to Canadians from all walks of life. To date, Petersen has served over 10,000 guests their first infused dining experience and, in 2020, launched the first recognized Culinary Cannabis Certificate for Safety and Responsibility in Canada. The Nomad Cook’s goal has been to break the stigmas around culinary cannabis and to influence the next generation of chefs to explore this ingredient and help move it from the underground into the mainstream. Having worked with every major licensed producer, retailer and cannabis brand in Canada, Petersen moved into the U.S. market in 2021 to make culinary cannabis a recognized Canadian Cuisine.
BRIAN NICHOL, MD, Interventional Pain Consultants Dr. Brian Nichol is a board-certified anesthesiologist practicing chronic pain management in North Little Rock. The medical use of cannabis has been an interest of his since noticing the improved quality of life his patients were experiencing when self-medicating with cannabis. For more than two decades, he has advocated for and guided patients on the successful and effective medical use of cannabis. The legalization of hemp and medical cannabis in Arkansas has brought medically guided cannabis treatment to the next level by being able to recommend cannabis preparations, dosing and administration schedules for more optimal results in an individual. He is a consultant to the industry and Medical Director for HypnosVR Vortex Clinical Terpene Inhalation systems. Dr. Nichol continues to advocate for medical cannabis patients, providing patient education through personal appearances and his work on social media and radio as CannabisExpertMD.
MELISSA FULTS, Activist and Treasurer, Arkansas NORML Melissa Fults has been a patient activist since 2011. She began working on an initiative for legal medical marijuana in April of that year, along with a great team, many that are still in this fight with her today! A mother of two and grandmother of five, Fults also owns and runs a small dairy goat farm. She is treasurer and board member of Arkansas NORML, an Americans for Safe Access member, Former Executive Director and spokesperson for Drug Policy Education Group, Arkansans for Compassionate Care, and Arkansas Cannabis Reform. Fults plans to continue fighting for patient’s rights until the US legalizes this medicine for all patients that need it.

OUR DOCTORS LESLIE CAIN, MD Dr. Leslie Cain is a dedicated physician with a strong foundation in traditional and alternative medicine.
