The Arkansas Lawyer Recognized at State & National Levels The Arknnsas Lnwyer Magazine and the lav,ryer/authors who contribute to it have been recongized in several ways during the past year. The editorial staff felt that those whose work helped the magazine to attain these honors needed to be recognized by the people most important to them our members, their peers. During the past year, The Arkansas Lawyer has been listed three times in national periodical catalogs as "a reliable source" and "on the cutting edge of legal developments." Articles written by Nelson V. Shaw of the Texarkana law firm Smith, Stroud, Dunn, McClerkin & Nutter, John T. Shannon of the Little Rock law firm of Williams & Anderson, and Larry Carpenter of the Carpenter Law Offices in North Little Rock were listed in the journals. In addition, The Arkansas Lawyer Magazine signed a contract this year with West Publishing Company allowing West to extract articles from the magazine to be

placed on WESTLAW, their nationwide

online research service. To date several articles have been chosen, including: "Superfunds: A Few Basic Concerns," by Greg Yeatman, Little Rock, Vol. 24, 0 2.; "An Introduction to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome," by Nelson V. Shaw, Vol. 24, 0.3; "Soldiers & Sailors Civil Relief Act: Legal Help for the Sudden Soldier," by Larry Carpenter, Vol. 25, No.2; and "Americans With Disabilities Act: A ew Era in Employment Practices Public Law 101-336 42 U.s.c. 12101 Et.
