renaProjekt, formed in 2004, are specialists at developing and cost estimating multi-functional arenas and stadiums. The primary task is to assist and advise the client throughout the planning process by identifying the needs and possibilities of each project. The result is correct criteria for the architectural- and engineering process; a well-planned arena forms the basis for cost-effective operation and long-term ownership. Once the project objectives are established, we will ensure step by step that all the elements will fit into place, and that the project will follow the required scheduling. As experts on the planning phase of an arena development, ArenaProjekt’s services are mainly focused on the process up to the start of construction. For example, the thorough and extended feasibility study consists of concept development, sport logistics, technical requirements and event planning with focus on both sporting and commercial functions. Cost estimations are performed in BIM already at the early stages to assure that the project is properly calculated. On completion of a project we are the last to sign off, and only once the client is satisfied with the end result. It means that services such as quality assurance apply in practice throughout the building process, to ensure that the initial planning is correctly implemented. ArenaProjekt are currently active in Scandinavia and Central Europe. ArenaProjekt were recently assigned to the world-renowned Holmenkollen, Norwegian National Arena for Nordic ski sports and biathlon. Approached by Concreto, ArenaProjekt has analysed existing operational concepts and the use of those, to present other possibilities for the coming tender of an operational contract. Another Norwegian assignment is the participation in Oslo’s bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics. The city is working hard on the application and
ArenaProjekt have been chosen for the development of all the ice sport arenas. The task has consisted of guiding the architects and technical consultants in their work, as well as supporting the project management team with expertise. As experts on concept development, functionality, event planning and cost estimations, ArenaProjekt have assisted the French Ice Hockey Federation in the development of a new, state of the art arena. The work included a
feasibility study and cost estimation for a multifunctional arena and a training facility to be used for league games, national team camps, international matches and events. Together with Germany, France has put in a bid to host the men’s World Cup in 2017. n
