SPORT SPOTS Project proposed to the Municipality for Brindisi European City of Sport AWARDED at Premio IQU 2014 (Innovazione e QualitĂ Urbana) Place: Brindisi (IT) Program: Pubblic space, sport facilities Status: Client:

The Sport Spots are a network of public spaces that want to convert and improve, through the Sport , the quality of the disused public spaces in the city of Brindisi. The idea came from the candidacy of the City of Brindisi as Sport City in the year 2014 and it’s based on a simple concept; instead of creating sport structures outside the city that are totally disconnected with the rest of the urban fabric, the sport spots are injected into the city as micro intervention of the urban context. All of this will have different impacts into the city: 1- First of all will recover public spaces no longer in use. 2- Will give the possibility to the children to play away in a safety place. 3- Give to people the possibility to approach to sports.
