The ongoing saga of format/e-books and me tearing my hair out…. I never thought doing an image heavy short book series was quite so difficult. I have been around the block a few times trying to get the correct formats, image size and other mumblejumble techno stuff. My brilliant idea of doing the illustrations on an app on my Ipad probably should have been thought out a bit more. Or I should be more techno savy than I am. Suffice to say I have been elated, driven to drink and plunged to the depths of despair more times than necessary this year. But I have persevered… I think I might have got it this time. By jove, she’s got it. If not, expect to see me tied in a straight jacket. This simple 1st booklet has a couple of format issues I am trying to sort out, like the odd blank page… but … DRUM ROLL… see next page for details

The Vukuzakhe Project December is AIDS awareness month. I only have 5 of these paintings left … about ⅓ of the price goes back to the Amandawe Support group for AIDS orphans in South Africa. This represents an enormous amount to them and brings economic growth to a primitive region of KwaZulu-Natal as well as much needed food and clothing to the children. Please consider buying one - I will do layaway. If you can’t, please help by sharing this with someone who can. Thank you.

Each piece has a heart warming story behind it and this rea;;y is a worthwhile project, which won’t be repeated. Please help me help children and the underprivileged over this holiday season. And from the children:

I’ve been doing a lot of quick sketches this year as we travel around -like The Pilots of the Caribbean on pg 2. I was inspired by my artist friends, Carol Lee Beckx and Rosemary Connelly… and I thank them! I’ m sorta thinking of putting a little book of sketches together… what do you think?
