EGG CANTILEVER FIRST YEAR PROJECT 1

The objective of this assignment was to think about create a concept to begin the proccess of form development. In my project the concept to complete the impossible, I accomplished that by heating and soaking wooden sticks to bend and form circular forms. While also keeping in mind the structural aspect of how to hang it on the wall.

FOUR FOLD

The objective of this Assignment was to think about how to create a Geometrical concept Followed by a story to Explain the reasons Behind every move. The story that followed the concept was a new city built for mars residents looking for a fresh start. The cylinder like form is an open atrium that can view both inside and outside of the mars city. The triangles are meant to represent complex forms and communicate with circles in a conceptual way. The Drawing to the right is an artist understanding of the city

FIRST YEAR PROJECT 4

THE ARTIST RESIDENCE This project is meant to house the artists Evelyn Glennie and Olafur Ellisson. Ellison is an Environmental artist and works well with the nature around him, his studio is placed facing the pond and open area around it. Glennie is a deaf percussionist who uses vibrations to feel her music, thus is why there are divots in the floor for her studio for Water placement so she can physically see her music around her. On the public side of the house there is a collaborative space for both artist to work on projects together it is a Stage set up in the water for Glennie to move the still water around her and a huge white door back drop to act as a blank canvas for Ellisson. Near the bedrooms there are private patios for the residence to not be bothered by the public.

9 STEPS

OBJ This project was to make nine functional abstract shapes with purpose. This project I choose the watermelon spittoon i designed the spittoon to have holes where the watermelon seeds could miss, thus this made the object a game. The concept was to enjoy my object not just be a desk ornament.

The A-List Brewery Anna Boothe

The A-List Brewery is intended for the citizens of Shreveport to bring a slice of life back to the city by combining a brewery and restaurant. The concept of this project is to explore spacial relations and how the interact with each other. This was completed by using all the programs the citizens would see, and have programs communicate across Platforms. The exterior and some of the interior has quite a few triangles strategically placed for the intent to always bring the visuals to the center, where the most amount of communication happens.
