The prestigious Bay Colony Dog Show has moved to Providence and will take place on December 3-6 2009 at the Rhode Island Convention Center!
After 100 years in Boston, the members of Bay Colony Cluster Dog Show, are proud to bring this event to the beautiful Rhode Island Convention Center in downtown Providence. “We are very excited about moving the Bay Colony Dog Show to Providence... to this world-class facility in the center of this very vital city, surrounded by restaurants, shopping, and entertainment,” stated Theodore Hollander, Show Chair and member of the Eastern Dog Club.

The Bay Colony Dog Show, one of the largest in the country, presents about “2,500 dogs coming from all over the country to compete” including “many of the top dogs competing at Westminster,” said Hollander. Volunteers from AKC dog clubs the Eastern Dog Club, the Ladies’ Dog Club, the Middlesex County Kennel Club, and the Yankee Golden Retriever Club organize and present four spectacular days of agility trials and conformation trials as well as obedience competitions and competitions for “Best of Breed” and “Best in Group.” This years show will feature the professional and majestic presentation of 155 breeds and, as always, a diverse array of activities including festive holiday shopping, hands-on demonstrations, and a variety of educational and entertainment exhibits. The show is intended for dog lovers young and old and Providence is delighted to expect more than 8,000 competitors and over 20,000 dog enthusiasts, vendors and attendees.
