e hope everyone enjoyed ski season. As summer approaches, we are excited about all of the upcoming summer member events, including the 6th annual Association of Angel Fire Property Owners weekend, Wine Pairing Dinners and our Royal Member Guest Golf Tournament. We hope you take advantage of these great events to meet fellow members and enjoy these great socials. We would like to express a warm welcome to our 23 new members who became property owners and members this spring – and we hope to see you at our member events. MEMBER SPOTLIGHT “Angel Fire was a no-brainer for me because some of the best fishing in North America is right here.” Jason and Kim Sides with their kids Shane, Sam and Jason is also an active member of Trout Unlimited and Sawyer, dogs Woody and Polly, cat Captain Jack Meow, Project Healing Waters. Kim is a Veterinarian and the tortoise Senora, bearded dragon Spike and fish have owner of the Salazar Road Veterinary Clinic in Taos. “I been members of Angel Fire Resort for over nine years. One reason they made Angel Fire their home is because love animals of all kinds” Kim explained, “Angel Fire gives our family the ability to experience some of of the abundance of wildlife. Jason is a professional nature’s most majestic creatures.” Kim is also on the Fly Fishing Guide for Taos Fly Shop. He has traveled Board for the youth soccer league and the Angel Fire internationally fishing on some of the most exotic rivers Ski Team. “We love our community and all of the in the world. “Fly fishing is not a job it is a passion” said domestic and wild animals that are part of it.” Jason.

WHAT’S THE NEWS WELCOME TO THE CLUB welcoming Members, the Country Club is the place to be this summer. Both Don Willingham and Evan Sales have returned to Angel Fire Resort to help improve your golf skills, organize tournaments and events, and make you feel at home on our fun yet challenging course.

UP ON THE MOUNTAIN The Chile Express Chairlift will take you to the 10,667-foot summit to zipline, mountain bike, disc golf and sightsee. The normal hours will be 9am – 4pm, with an earlier 8am opening during busy weekends. A complete chairlift schedule is online at Bring your family and friends to the top of the mountain for lunch at the Summit Haus and to participate in our many activities. Angel Fire Bike Park was voted as the #1 bike park in the Southwest by readers of MTBParks.com! The bike park trail crew is not slowing down though, and continues to build new trails, bridges and jumps. They have completed Easy Street, It’s summertime, play outside!

DOWN BY THE LAKE The popular Friday Night Scramble tournaments start on June 6th this year at 4:30pm. Get your 3-person team together and enjoy an evening of lively competition, hors d’oeuvres Royal Member Guest Tournament on August 6 through “best ball” matches for a chance to win great prizes. For more information about anything golf related including tournaments, instruction and setting up a tee time, please call the Pro Shop at 575.377.4488. Monte Verde Lake was stocked with 11 to 14 inch Rainbow Trout at the end of May, and will continue to be stocked throughout the boating everyday from 7am-7pm, please check in with the Lake Attendant upon arrival.

AT THE BASE AREA Brett Hall is returning as well to head up the tennis programs, camps and tournaments. Please join our tennis community clinics and a fun social mixer. Stop by the Fitness Center for an invigorating workout in a comfortable space, or try one of our many classes, which include Aqua Fit, Pilates, Flexibility for Golf, and Yoga. The Mountain Operations team has been busy during the spring landscaping the base of the mountain. New grass has been planted, walking trails have been developed, and the bike trails have been re-routed. The children’s activities; Eurobungy, Climbing Wall and Bounce House, will have a new home at the base of the mountain near the Exhibition chairlift. Movies Under the Stars will also move to the base area starting on Saturday, July 5th then every Friday in July at dusk.

THE PLATINUM ADVANTAGE Golf season is here! Platinum members may schedule tee times up to 10 days in advance. Other benefits include a 50% discount on the private cart trail fee, and complimentary range balls and golf club storage. Please remember that the range balls are for the Platinum member only. Use one of the Platinum parking spaces at the Country Club by displaying your 2014/2015 (green) parking tag and enjoy the course.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT Angel Fire Resort named Dan Swanson as its new Director of Marketing & Business Development this past December. Dan brings a widevariety of experience to the resort including background in destination marketing, hospitality, resorts, social media and brand development. His focus will be on building

year-round business for the resort, creating a consistent and effective message and leveraging the products and programs that the resort has in place. His oversight includes the marketing and sales programs as well as interaction with the other resort departments and the greater destination. Hailing from a ski

town, Dan understands the culture of the area and what’s needed to continue development of the resort into a year-round destination. He moves to the area with his wife Kendra and two boys, Riley and Graham.
