Turn Me On Design a light on/off control switch for a space or for some of the following, modern design loving, people. Choose three different people/spaces and design three different on/off controls. The objective is to design a control that you think would be liked and used by the people you choose. Avoid obvious associations you have to the people selected. But use them as a stepping stone for creating modern, functional solutions. Indoor Waterfall Religious Fanatic Umbrella Manufactur

The Indoor Waterfall Following the same movement pattern as the water in a waterfall, you have to give the black circle a little tip and it will fall down and swing around the white circle until it finally comes to rest. The Light will be switched off now. In order to turn the Light back on, you just need to move the black circle back to the top, where it snaps into its right position.
The Religious Fanatic Religious fanatics are persons who attach to some object an ultimate valuation and then attend to that overvalued object with what is recognizable as a kind of religious devotion. The black “planet“ in the planetary gear is a symbol for the fanatic who is moving in endless circles around the “sun“, searching for his illumination. The black “planet“ being on top and the light is switched off. Each other white “planet“ stands for a different stage of brightness.
The Umbrella Manufactur Walking around with an umbrella makes me feel like a knight with a sword. Walking around with a little spring loaded umbrella makes me feel like a soldier with a gun. This lightswitch symbolizes the target. Your goal is the light. Aim for the bulls eye and the light will turn on!
Atlas - a watch concept Atlas is a collection composed of a watch and a bracelett using light as a medium to indicate the time. The watch displays the time in precise numbers, the bracelett just gives you a feeling of your journey through the day. Inspired by nature, distorted through a computer and refined by hand, the pattern of the display is the result of numerous experiments in form and ornament. Behind the fragments of black glass a soft sparkle increases during the day to a lucid glowing. At nighttime the light slowly dissolves to rise again at the next day. The “black fragments“ are embraced by silver and strong black leather to rest comfortable and secure around your arm.
