01 Afternoon Tea Cath Kidston Print The challenge was to design one new conversational print taking into account the Cath Kidston brand values and print style.

Our solution was based around the theme of Afternoon Tea, we used the Cath Kidston aesthetic to create a conversation print that targeted the current market.

02 Afternoon Tea Cath Kidston Print Taking on board the Cath Kidston aesthetic we used Adobe Illustrator to create a series of illustrations based on the theme of English Afternoon Tea.

The Primary illustrator is to be the focal point of the print, with secondary illustrations complimenting the design and allowing for the pattern to flow.

We have maintained the content colour throughout, whilst altering the background colour, giving a dif ferent feel to each pattern yet maintaining consistency.

03 Afternoon Tea Cath Kidston Print The colourway was carefully considered, we chose something that was feminine, and complimentary to the chosen theme, it must work across a range of products.

Taking inspiration from previous Cath Kidston designs to maintain consistency within the brand we have created a celebratory repeat pattern for England.

04 Afternoon Tea Cath Kidston Print We created the pattern in a stepped out form in order to create the continuous repeat without any distinction. A pattern swatch was created enabling ease of use.

05 Afternoon Tea Cath Kidston Print The pattern and specific element of the pattern will need to be suited to a full range of products, such as homeware, clothing and stationary.

We have proposed various solutions for the usage of the Afternoon Tea Cath Kidston print across a range of media and materials.
