Sugar River Productions is a multi-facet music organization that operates a recording Studio, record label, and publishing company that caters to Songwriters, Americana Bands, Country, Folk, Blues, and Indie Artists who want quality professional recordings that are a true representation of their art. We do not sugar coat recordings using gimmicks or tricks. We believe that each artist is unique, and their sound is theirs alone.

We solve the hassles of working with a studio or engineer that does not understand Americana/Folk/Country/ Acoustic music and recording, thus providing an honest quality representation of the artist’s compositions. 3. How are we different than our competition? We listen to our customers. Being writers and musicians ourselves we understand how important it is to capture your individual sound to create a recording that you are happy with. We don’t rely on studio tricks or gimmicks to make you sound like anyone but yourself. 4. Why should our customers care? You should care because the song is the most important part of the recoding process. Taking care to capture and present it in its purest form allows the artist the ability to share an honest piece of themselves with their fans, not a manufactured version.

What Sugar River Production is ·
The Studio is a 24 track digital and analog equipped recording studio that specializes in demo, single, and EP recordings. Sugar River Studios are located in Belleville, WI a short 16 miles from South Madison. We work with singer/songwriters, duos, and bands to bring a customized product to completion. Our services include mixing, demo’s, transfer and conversion from analog recordings to CD both LP's and reel to reel tape, singles, EP’s, and full production CD’s.

We have state of the art digital equipment, analog tube effects, vintage recording and outboard gear including high quality mics by Audio – Technica, CAD, MXL, Nady, Shure, and Cascade. We also have a large selection of Fender Tube amps including a Fender Vibratone Leslie. There are many folk stringed instruments in the studio along with a Hammond M-3 Organ, Alesis QS Seven Synth, and Yamaha Digital Grand Piano. There is also a wide assortment of electric and acoustic guitars and basses that are available for use in your recording.

In some studios the expense of recording a project tends to be cost prohibitive. Sugar River Studio believes that smart planning and budgeting can make your recording experience enjoyable and productive. Our staff will work with you to design a recording package that will be affordable, and allow you to get your desired results. Charges for studio time can be broken down by the hour, day, or project. We at Sugar River Studios are keen to your desire to create the best recording you can for a fair price.

Our prices include an hourly tracking charge of $40.00 per hour and mixing is $45.00 per hour. We do give discounts for blocks of time booked. The clock starts when you say you will arrive so being on time is advantageous. All sessions are paid half down at the start of the project and the balance in full at the end of project. Project costs are determined in advance.

Sugar River Studio was designed to give you the artist the best recording experience. The natural wood interior walls bring warmth to the sound and the vibe of your session. The wood floors and warm colors of the studio help to relax you while also stimulating your creativeness, while creating positive tones for your music.

As a record label we strive to release three acts a year. We work with artists who are building a resume of musical achievements that will foster a long-term music career. Sugar River Productions works in all facets of our artists careers from help with touring, record sales, and promotional material. Our staff works hard to foster a trusting relationship with our artists.
