John Rolli During his 29 seasons as head ice hockey coach at UMass Dartmouth, Coach John Rolli’s teams have put together an unprecedented record of accomplishment in New England and NCAA collegiate ice hockey. Rolli’s career record at UMass Dartmouth, 557-175-34 (.749), is one of the highest winning percentages of any college hockey coach in the country. Entering the 20013-14 season, Rolli is ranked eighth among all active coaches with 557 career wins and third within the NCAA Division III behind Mike McShane at Norwich and Bill Beaney at Middlebury. Under Rolli’s direction, the Corsairs have qualified for ECAC/MASCAC post season tournaments in each of his 29 seasons, capturing the ECAC Championships nine times. UMass Dartmouth teams led by Coach Rolli clinched ECAC titles in 1985, 1989, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2006, 2007, and 2008; and in 2013 won the school’s first MASCAC championship. A six-time New England Hockey Writers’ Coach of the Year (1989, 1993, 1996, 2005, 2006, and 2007) , four-time ECAC Coach of the Year (1996, 2005, 2006, and 2007) , and MASCAC Coach of the Year (2011), Rolli was one of 12 finalists for the 1999, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2011 Eddie Jeremiah Award/NCAA Division III Coach of the Year (given annually to the College Division Coach of the Year by the American College Hockey Coaches Association) and was runner-up for the award in 2006.
