Service set for Elizabeth Myers A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Ladera Community Church, 3300 Alpine Road, for Elizabeth (Betty) Apperson Myers, who died unexpectedly on Jan. 10, two days after her 88th birthday. Born in Montgomery County, Virginia, she graduated from high school in 1944 and attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute. She joined the Army in 1945 and was honorably discharged in 1946, when she married Frederick B. Sutton, an engineer with Boeing in Seattle. In 1949, the couple moved to the Bay Area. Ms. Myers was widowed in 1960 and married John (Jack) Barber Myers in 1962. After Mr. Myers’ death, she moved into The Sequoias, where she lived for the past 10 years. She was an active member and volunteer at Ladera Community Church for 50 years. She is survived by her son, George Sutton of Menlo Park; sisters Nita Little of Blacksburg, Virginia, Mary Kent Eliot of Christiansburg, Virginia, and Pam Mason of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and one grandson. Donations may be made to the Ladera Community Church Endowment Fund, 3300 Alpine Road, Portola Valley, CA 94028; or to a favorite charity.
